Erich stood within a massive field of wheat grass, the soft yellow buds bouncing against him as blood dripped from his hands and face. Arranged around him were half a dozen bodies of soldiers, one was Imperial and the other he had no idea of their origin. Each of them was still alive, softly groaning and fighting for life. Blood dripped from each of their corpses, etching deep red lines within the dirt as they slowly dribbled towards the Garhoon standing at the center.

The Mercenary sighed slightly, each of these men were not men at all. They were not human, nor were they Kiffar, Hapan, or Chiss. They were Garhoons, such as he was...or close enough as it were. Erich looked at each of them watching them as they slowly began to bleed out. They had been sent to him, assassins, blackguards, knives in the dark. They had been meant to kill him and end the scourge that he brought to the species of Garhoons. Of course they had failed, fools that they were they had become over confident.

Garhoons weren't used to being prey, so when they fought something stronger than themselves they were...caught off guard. Erich had slaughtered these six without a second though, bringing them down before they had had a chance to understand what was going on. Still he had spared their lives however, he needed them.

It was time for him to end this silly hunt. The Garhoon elders despised him, hated him to their very core. He was something else, an off-shoot of the typical Garhoon. Something within his genes had become warped, something within them had changed him from the standard Garhoon. Instead of just blood, he required marrow as well. He consumed his victims as a whole, bones and all. Though this was not why they hated him, it was because of another of his abilities. Unlike other Garhoons he did not get sick from his own kind, he could consume Garhoon blood and marrow without a second thought.

Doing so in fact had many benefits, it made him stronger, faster, and increased his cognitive functions each time he did it. The Elders feared this, and thus they sought his death. He was the only one of his kind currently known, the only mutation to exist among the Garhoon. It was time to change that.

Erich was clever, clever enough to figure out a solution to his problem. He stood among the corpses for a few more minutes, and then turned South towards the nearest city. He would go there, and begin to gather what he needed.
