Deep Space

The station had been brought in nice and safely into the system that housed the Deep Space Demolition and Removal facility, in ancient history the D&R facility had been mostly used a way for the Black Sun to destroy evidence of anything that needed to be gone baby gone, but Khaleel saw more potential after he had gotten his hands on the schematics of the installation.

Salvatrucha had done a good job of reconstructing the facility, before going over into establishing shipyards and refitting facilities in the system. It was pretty locked out at the moment, few if any knew that the system even existed.

Fewer could say they had been here.

Currently the engineers of the shipyards were busy crowding over the Libertalia, with the help of some of his men they had managed to cut off any bugs and tracking devices that might have been installed and now they were simply studying the station. See what they could do with it and what the general options were for the project that would soon start.

Khal leaned against the back of his seat, [member="Spark Finn"] and him were sitting in his office on board the D&R facility.

“So, how ya feeling? Headache better?” he would ask, not allowing any concern to radiate into his voice.

She didn’t have to know he cared.

How Spark Finn managed to get a fair-trade cup 'o french vanilla caf in the middle of some super top, TOP SECRET production facility sitting in the office of a fairly lucrative crime lord was most definitely on the down low. She had her ways. Khal handled the guards after they jumped. Seemed like if she was by Khal's side, the guards weren't gonna mess with her even if she was an unexpected addition.

But she could obvs and totes handle herself anyway, duh.

The blond took a sip of the caf. "Yeah, it's better," keen eyes glanced his way before panning back out the office window. The place was incredible - left her speechless. The slicer was buzzed on a techno-high and hype even though she was in need of some serious mattress-time.

"I still can't believe.....yeah. I can't believe it." She turned to face the man from hell a little more squarely, so he could have her full attention - full attention minus the precious caf. "You gonna show me that vong biotech or what?"

Seemed like after that would be a good time to shove off.

“Sure.” he replied with a chuckle.

Next to his seat was a suitcase, he lifted it up and put it on the table before pushing it over towards her side. If there was one thing that Khaleel knew, it was that holding yourself to your end of the bargain was one of the most important things a man could do.

With no sense of honor, no one trusts you. With no trust? You cannot accomplish anything in this Galaxy.

A slow musing before a shrug.

“I got another one, you can keep that one if you want.”

Then Khaleel leaned against the back of his chair and started humming to himself softly, letting her have some geek-alone-time with her new toy, in the meanwhile he took up his datapad and started running the numbers for the station refit.

The thing was ridiculous, like glorified bonkers in terms of scope. It literally held every facility known to mankind and then some, you could probably seal yourself into the structure and find something new to explore for the rest of your miserable life. Good resource for profit tho, and that was what it was all about, no?

They could arguably do anything they wanted with the station, maybe turn it into an orbital defense station or perhaps return to its roots but… do it better.

Hmm, a lot of options.

Face brightened as he slide the tech over. Fingers played over the edge of the material as she turned an invisible eye to the force on them. It wasn't pretty and she could tell it would cost something to use. But it was nothing she'd ever seen before.

Maybe she and Coren could use them against the One Sith somehow...

She closed the lid.

"I guess this makes the deal closed. I'm glad," thin lips pursed. "I'm glad you got out, Khal." Of course he knew she would be referring to the Netherworld.

Converse-sneakered self stood. "You got a transport I can use to get outta here or something?"

He looked up, memories flashed back towards hell. Might have been just the barest of twitches at the edge of his mouth that would give away the cost of getting out, but Khal regrouped himself neatly and gave her a neutral nod in reply.

“Glad I could get ya and your friend out.” which was followed by a return of the gaze towards the datapad, there were still a lot of-

Ah.

Again Khaleel looked up, eyebrows going up in a slightly frown, before giving a shrug.

“‘course, but I got an offer for ya. Listen to it and then make up your mind.”

Point was, she was a valuable asset even if she wasn’t aware of it herself yet. The way she deftly maneuvered right through the defenses of the station had been an unique thing, especially considering her age and lack of total experience in these things.

That and the Force had been given off strange vibes when she had been working.

Told him a thing or two.

A sigh followed.

“This line of job? Means I gotta be a hard man, Spark. Gotta make the tough decisions and stick with ‘em to provide and protect my people, but… you might have reminded me that I ain’t just a tough man. That there is more to it than that.”

He scratched his chin followed by another shrug, this time more awkward.

“I am busy setting up a cyber division, gonna be hitting all kinds of targets. Sith, Prime, the Union and a few others. Point is, I think I need you - for your expertise… and to keep me straight.”

“Keep reminding me I am just a guy, but only if you want to of course.”

A lot of words said, last shrug followed and then his eyes returned to the datapad.

“Just a thought, think on it.”

She stood there awkwardly for a bit - unsure whether to remain standing or sit back down? Slowly, she found herself lowering back into the chair until her bony-butt perched on its edge. He had her attention.

"You had me at sith," she spoke thoughtfully. "But whatever the few others are - I might be in or out depending on who they are." She had her reasons and sometimes not all information needed to be shared. "You up for my help on a job by job basis?"

Out of habit, fingers came up to straighten the black frames of her glasses.

"And as far as keeping you straight," she stumbled on her words, not the best with sharing and showing feelings - her pale face gave everything away. "You know me, I have a conscience. I mean, not saying that you don't! I was just....yeah." She cleared her throat.

He thought she was an expert??? Awweeeeeee. She was confident in her own abilities of course but it was always nice to hear some affirmation, especially from someone as rough, tough, and seasoned as she imagined Khal was.

After a few more moments of awkward introversion and inner-reflection she finally resurfaced.

"Wait, who exactly are your people?"

She wanted to know who she was gonna be working with.

A shrug.

“Mandalorians, Vitae Alliance, maybe the Protectorate if they are still alive and kicking.” a thoughtful ponder came around, chin was scratched and Khal leaned back against the seat.

“Republic? Doubt they got anything that we need though. Honestly, the only ones that wouldn’t ever be hit is the Levantines, the Underground obviously, nations and entities that actually have some sense and don’t mess around with their civilians too much.”

Khal chuckled softly after that.

“I would be giving you and the other slicers a free hand in this one, I got way too many things going on to control everything you will do. So you might be able to push it into hitting the Sith the hardest.” a wink. “I wouldn’t really care either, as long as we get valuable tech and credits outta it I will be content.”

Then she asked who would be involved.

Cryax was still an unknown at this point, he might be interested or might be so far up the Sith’s back that he won’t ever even consider it. Other than that Simone was definitely in and would be heading up the entire operation, they would probably get along fine.

…Both just loved to sass him.

“People I met from my missions with the Underground, some Underworld figures ya wouldn’t know, at the moment the only name you might know is [member="Simone"] ; used to be a reporter and has been working for me for a while now.”

A very visible flutter of relief flickered across her face. She and the Pubs had history. She wasn't sure if she wanted to relive that through nefarious or acts of any kind.

She gave a curt nod of her chin.

"Right, all you care about is the bottom line." That probably came off wrong but Spark was oblivious. Lips puckered in thought as she sifted the name Simone through her brain. She knew more than she could recall at the moment. Enough digging and slicing on cyberspace made major player names or pseudonyms come up.

She stood again.

"Tell you what. Give me two standard days and I'll let you know. And don't worry. I already have your info to contact you."

She didn't need to go into the reasons of how.
