Divine Providence

Ever the patient one, Cedric just gave her an easy smile.

"You've got the gist," he nodded approvingly. There was no real way to properly explain the force. How could one explain the unexplainable? No, the only way Talaya was going to get any grasp for it was to feel it out herself. It was time for a lesson.

"There's no better way to understand it than to commune with it." Cedric explained, setting aside his drink so that he might focus on the topic at hand. "Close your eyes."

He did so as well.

"Reach out beyond yourself. Imagine yourself to be a riverbed. Right now, the water is contained by boulders. You need to imagine those boulders melting away, letting the waters flow through you freely. Imagine yourself as a conduit through which the Force might run through. All you need do is open yourself to it...and want it. You have to truly want it, and then it will come to you, like coaxing a dog or," his brow furrowed as he fought to find something she might find relatable. "Well, like coaxing a dog."

Talaya closed her eyes as instructed. She was to imagine herself a riverbed, with boulders halting her from bonding with the force. It was easy to see the confusion on the woman's face, Talaya occasionally peaking to look at Cedric while he spoke with eyes closed. With a minor head shake, she'd dismiss her doubts and begin to focus. On the imagery. On ridding herself of the metaphorical boulders, and allowing the waters to flow through her. Freely. Her face visibly grew more relaxed with time. Perhaps she had a knack for this. It was almost like- ..

"Zz ...zzz.."

Well ..it was almost like she fell asleep.

Cedric blinked.

This was a first for him. He'd worked with difficult students before, but none had simply fallen asleep in the process of meditation, let alone so quickly. Perhaps now was not the proper time to try and introduce Talaya to the subtle intricacies of the living Force.

"...Let's do this later," he sighed, slowly rising from his chair so as not to disturb her. He quietly stepped forward, gently nudging her head with his index finger. "Hey, Talaya, you fell asleep." He sounded more than a litlte amused. "Why don't we get you in the guest quarters for now so you can get some rest. I'm heading to Tython tomorrow. You can join me."

The nudge resulted in a delayed budge of the eyes, followed by a "Rocks! Uh-...uh Waves! Rivers and- ..Oh." She woke to Cedric's wish to postpone her tea party with the force. Not a bad idea, the more she thought about it. Her arms reached into the air as she gave a yawn-ridden stretch, the woman later rotating her arm and lifting from her seat.

"That'd ..make me really happy, actually." The past week had left her with little chance to sleep. The idea of sleeping on a real bed again pleased her, ready to follow where Cedric would lead her.

"Look uh ..sorry. About-. .earlier. It's just been ..a long week, y'know? I'll be Super Girl again by the morning."

"Alright super girl," Cedric chuckled as he went to put his empty glass away. "Might be better to help you see what the Jedi are all about. Tython is the perfect place for that." He added as he returned to the table. the Jedi turned about, gesturing for Talaya to follow him.

"I know whatcha mean about long weeks. Feels like it's been a long year for me," he added, a hint of exasperation beneath his tone. For all the appearances Cedric opted to portray, he was truly quite tired beneath the exterior. It wouldn't do for the Imperium to see their leader as weak, of course, but it would be a lie to say it wasn't weighing on him.

He would lead Talaya up one of the nearby stairwells to a rather average looking hallway lined with doors. He led her to the first of these doors, and gestured her over. "This one's yours for now." The door opened, revealing a small two-bedroom chamber adorned with basic furnishings. It could have been any hotel room in the galaxy.

"Get your rest. I'll see about getting you set on the path tomorrow." He paused a moment, considering something. After a few seconds of hesitation, he outstretched his arms, offering Talaya a hug. Though she might not have known it, that was a rather large step for the Imperator.
