“Frak it!” Lenna cursed, sliding out from beneath the Aether. She wiped her hands on the front of her navy coveralls, covered in grime, with the only exception being a clean patch around her eyes that had a thin film of grease where the safety glasses were. Her dirty-dishwater hair was haphazardly tugged into a ponytail, wild wisps poking out from every which direction. “I’m not a mechanic.” griped Lenna, realizing she was but a pale imitation.
Her eyes traveled down to her blistered fingers, resisting the urge to suck her bleeding knuckles and instead shoving her clouded goggles on top of her head with a sigh of frustration. Those wires weren't meant to cross paths, obviously.
“Master...Are you in need of my assistance?” fluted the mechanical voice of the rented FA-4; a temporary fix until she got her hands on a real pilot.
“What have I told you about calling me that?”
“To not use it, Master.”
Lenna eyed the droid, screwing the lid off her water and taking a quick swig. She let the title slide this time. “Just get inside and back at the helm, I want to get this rig off the ground ASAP. I don’t intend on staying much longer.” She was ready to say goodbye to this hell-hole of a planet.
