Dissonance Theory

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

"Who knows how they use it." Natalia gave a roll of her eyes as if the mere matter was idiotic to her. She held no respect for those who used some sort of mystical energy to move their way up. That only served to prove that these Force users couldn't do what they wanted on their own merit, much like Natalia and her beloved were doing now.

Hands went tightening upon flesh, and Natalia gave a cluck of her tongue," Asking would be too direct. Complimenting her and having her show off the abilities... would be wiser."

It was just another way to be manipulative. To coax the Zeltron to do their bidding.

"Find weaknesses there."

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

That was an idea.

"A nice little show." He mused. There would be ample opportunity when they went through the club. He had installed the little surprise for her already, though in truth it was more for the three of them than just for Joza. He mused for a moment, glancing towards the room beyond and then back towards Natalia. His fingers floated over her, eyes wandering as he traced them around. There were still many obstacles to all of this.

"I will do my best." Slevin told her. "Though..."

A small smile touched his lips. "Perhaps she'll see through me."

The idea tickled him in a way that he hadn't thought of before. Joza was, on the whole, a good person. She despised Slavery, trusted people, and in general tried to do better than was done to her. That much he had already learned of her.

"See the darkness within." A bit poetic for Slevin's usual language. "And be tempted by it."

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

Tempted?

"You mean addicted by it. Drawn in." Natalia bent down to give another playful bite to Slevin's lower lip. She took in a deep breath, breathing that unique scent of him in. Hands went tightening their grasp, leaving white marks where the tips dug into flesh.

A half hiss and and draw up of her face and Natalia bared her teeth in anticipation.

"To the point that she won't be able to walk away." fingers went tracing down his jawline and over his shoulder. A knock at the door interrupted them, prompting the swing of Natalia's eyes. Annoyance went dancing over her face, followed by impatience. It would be Maile with the Head Researcher.

"Come in." a tap of her hand against Slevin's cheek promised another time. Slevin would now get to review the enhanced version of the Human Replica Droids they were going to utilize in their park.

Addicted.

Now there was an idea. In truth he wasn't entirely sure that it was something he could pull off. He was not as skilled in manipulation as Natalia was, his touch was not subtle, at least not usually. He frowned for a moment, rolling his tongue within his mouth in consideration. His gaze flickered towards the researcher and the woman that came in along behind.

It was a near replica of someone whom he had seen before, though Slevin had no idea who. The Crime Lord frowned for a moment, and then gently bade his Beloved to tell him exactly who, or what he was looking at. That was why they were here after all. "Go on."

He told her with a quick kiss.

"Impress me." Slevin said with a smile. "My love."

The small smile of amusement crossed his face as he waited.

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

Natalia gave Slevin a departing nip on the lips with that brief kiss. Her expression then shifted, turning a bit more angular as the woman settled into the persona of show hostess. With a knowing grin and a small wink, the woman came to her full height. The rap of her heels gave a slow tattoo upon the floor, the woman moving over towards the prototype not a meter away.

It was naked, species would identify her as Zeltron. Coral skin, large breasts, shapely hips, and upon inspection, her skin would maintain the same warmth as any other organic. Her hair was a bright purple and her eyes were a deep vibrant blue.

"Doesn't she look familiar?" Natalia would coo,walking a semi-circle around the HRD.

"It's the Governor of Zeltros, my love."

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

"Oh." He said quietly. In truth, Slevin didn't actually recognize the woman at first. He rarely registered most people unless they were somehow important to him, and although the Governor of Zeltros had been somewhat in their lives at late he tended to find her very...forgettable.

That was not always said about Zeltrons, most of the time they managed to take the attention of entire rooms, but for Slevin her species was not all that unique. The Governor did not have the same beauty that Natalia did, nor did she have the strength or the charm. Even compared to Joza the Governor was severely lacking in her allure, and as Slevin's eyes slowly fell over the woman he couldn't help but give an amused smile, though a thought crept into his mind. "The Pheromones."

He asked.

"Can these droids make them?" That was an interesting question. "Or no?"

The point was not to copy Zeltrons of course, just to copy people, but he was curious.

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

"I knew you would ask that." pleasure shown within the depths of Natalia's green eyes, intrigue sweeping over her face. A single finger would beckon her beloved to come closer.

"Want to find out?" they did, in fact managed a method of being able to replicate a Zeltron's pheromones by charting it down to a chemical composition. There were already several other versions of such around, for example, Essence of Zeltros, which used natural Zeltron pheromones to provide a small token similarity to those of other species.

"Touch her skin." while the HRD stood still, she still had a rather pleasent expression upon her face. She would not act normally until Natalia gave the key command to.

The way that they managed to replicate it is by utilizing a capillary like mesh under the dermis. When specific protocols are activated, it would also provoke the excretion of sweat much in the same way Zeltron pheromones do.

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

Slevin did as instructed, fingers gently brushing over the Zeltros HRD.

He'd never really thought about HRD's before they started this little venture. They were something he hadn't ever really considered, nor something that he thought they could utilize, but now...things were becoming far more intriguing.

"Do we have scanners?" He asked. "If we could replicate anyone..."

That was the point of this of course. "We can do more than just our little scheme, my love."

This sort of technology could fare much better than simple blackmail an extortion.

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

Natalia gave a slight smirk. This was the best part.

"We don't need to make our own scanners." Indeed, every starport had their own lifeform scanners that would review and scan incoming passengers and travelers. It was the same for Zeltros.

"We were able to set up a trojan uplink that allows us to get the scans from the starports." a pause, the woman walking around back towards a small console.

"Not to mention slicing into medical facilities to gain a copy of a prospects medical records." that would allow them to utilize those high-resolution medical scans to produce an HRD that is in essence, a carbon copy of the template.

"However, we have begun research on creating smaller scanners that we can use for quick scans when the need demands it."

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

He mused for a moment more.

"The governor." He waved a hand towards her. The idea was slowly creeping into his mind. This park was already going to be something great, grander than either of them could imagine. They'd be able to use it in a number of ways, but these HRD's? They could be so much more than a rich mans plaything.

"How will she act?" He asked as he tugged Natalia closer. "Can she learn to copy the real one?"

Natalia would see what he was getting at.

There were many obstacles in their path, including the governor of Zeltron herself. Though their park would bring in quite a bit of money and wasn't technically going to be built on Zeltros itself, there was still some resistance to it's construction. Mostly due to environmental concerns, keeping the moons less artificial and more 'clean'.

Yet now they had this HRD...the idea wasn't a difficult one to form.

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

That was going to be a bit trickier.

"Getting preliminary personality scans require us to monitor the Governor," Natalia admitted. The first speed bump. "An improv program can fill in the rest." it was basic, but a starting point.

Natalia gave a cluck of her tongue. A discerning glance went over the Zeltron, observing her down to every detail.

"That is what will sell it. Their ability to adapt." Natalia then would pluck a datapad from the nearby console. She brought it up, turning in on and began to flip through the displays and screens.

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

That was really the most important part.

"We will need her to learn." So many obstacles could simply be made to...disappear. If they replaced people with what they wanted, who they wanted, then there was nothing that could stand in their way. He mused for a moment.

"Imagine." He said quietly. "Seeing a copy of yourself."

Amusement floated over his features. "How odd."

Of course, there was no copying Natalia, nor was there a way to reproduce Slevin. They themselves were clones, but they were special. Both of them were beyond anything anyone could ever hope to be, they had been designed that way. The both of them were smarter, faster, far more worthy than anyone could ever care to be.

It was what made them so good.

“Well then, there is no telling just how efficient my copies would be.” Amusement went flickering in Natalia’s eyes, her head tipping back to regard her beloved. Another flip and slide of her finger upon her display and she sent the information floating upon a larger holographic screen.

“See, base programing with improv; we can allocate various simulations for them to react to but also manipulate said reactions based on a twenty point personality system.”

Natalia gave a full swing of her hips walking over to the screen, detailing the results, “Humor, Bulk apperception, candor, vivacity, coordination, meekness, humility, cruelty, self-preservation, patience, decisiveness, imagination, curiosity, aggression, loyalty, empathy, tenacity, courage, sensuality, and charm.”

A toss of her head and Natalia caught [member="Slevin Thawne"] ‘s eyes.

“There is also stoicism, extroversion, restraint, ambition, passivity, apprehension, grit… Intelligence.”

All of these features would help in making their HRD’s stand out above and beyond others.

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

Yet they were still machines.

Copies.

To Slevin these creatures would never be 'real'. It didn't matter if they were made of oil and metal or flesh and blood, they were machines, creations. One could get into the philosophical argument of course, the idea that life was created and based around certain parameters, but Slevin didn't really see it. There was always a different.

"Good." He mused quietly. "Very good."

It would do.

They would never replace him or Natalia, not even close, but they would at least serve their purpose within the park. The HRD's would be a major piece of what their project would be, of what it would allow, there was no denying that they were being ambitious, but so far it seemed that everything was on track. "How many can we create so far?"

This was also a question of production after all.

That was the frustrating part. They all had to grow of course, it took time. While Natalia had the greater patience, it still wasn’t fast enough for her.

“It takes time, almost a month for at least ten.” while they had the funds from Maile’s father and his recently departed competition, they needed to get more.

“We need more funds -- maybe scrounge up more partnerships.” for now. Use and abuse those funds to serve their purpose for their little world. These Human Replica Droids were expensive.

The money had to come from somewhere.

“I’ve been researching on who would be best for that…” unless Slevin had other ideas?

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

Money.

That was oddly enough their biggest problem. They had already made, or stolen half a dozen small fortunes from all around the galaxy, but it was never enough. Nearly every credit they earned was reinvested in their various businesses, either to expand to maintain their considerable share in the market.

Oh they made profit, but it was all poured back into what they already had.

That was how business worked, how one grew in a galaxy that was quite literally filled with nothing but competition. The difficulty came with revenue of course, drawing from something or someone that would allow them to keep going at their current rate of expansion. ”I’ll have to think.”

He mused.

”Perhaps we need something bigger.” He told her. ”More than the smaller draw we’ve been getting.”

So far SIN had no major stream of revenue, just hundreds of smaller streams that added up. The Clubs, the Spice, the fashion, all of it was paltry when taken on its own.

That is when Natalia made a rather bold proposition.

“There is some girl claiming to be the Princess of Zeltros.” honestly, she didn’t know how much of the claim was valid. It made no sense for Zeltros to have a monarchy, however, there were ways that perhaps they could exploit this.

“There are also several smaller crime syndicates we could take advantage of.” her hand set down the datapad and instead came to rest against Slevin’s shoulder. Those green eyes of her sweeping over the angles of his face.

“Or, I’ve heard there is movement with other government entities near here that we could take advantage of.”

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

Slevin couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows at what Natalia said. ”Princess?”

That seemed entirely unlikely. From everything he knew about Zeltros they had neither monarchs nor anything related to a system of such. He frowned for a moment, considering just what was going on here and wondering if it was just some preposterous claim...or if there was actually someone trying to seize power here.

For a moment he stayed silent.

”What governments?” He mused. ”The Alliance?”

It was difficult enough working under them with a legitamite business, considering that their little project on the moon of Zeltros would be anything but...well that would cause them some issues. He frowned for a moment more.

”No. They won’t work, can’t we simply kill her?” It would be easier.

[member="Slevin Thawne"]

A roll of Natalia's eyes.

"LIkely will disappear or be laughed out for her claims." the woman would scoff. She took a step away, glancing back at the Human Replica Droid of the governor.

"I doubt we'd have fun with the Alliance." she said plainly, moving around to go back to the Zeltron. Her hand came up, red tipped fingers running through the Zeltron's hair.
"They say there is a coalition of free worlds."

[member="Natalia Thawne"]

For some reason that made him laugh.

"A coalition of free worlds?" Amusement played across his features. "What are they free of?"

He glanced at Natalia.

"Each other? The Alliance?" Fools. Then again, such a thing sounded far more maliable than the Alliance did. If this so called Coalition didn't operate as a central government but was instead more segmented then it could be something they could exploit.

"Who are they?" He asked. "Who leads them?"

Natalia would know of course.
