Diplomatic Mission - Mandalorian Empire

So I've been chatting a bit with the ME, and I think it would be good to have an IC thread with their leadership to see if we can find some common ground. If anyone would like to join me, then just let me know so that I can tag you in to participate.

I'd love to be there, but it'll mostly be Anarya observing and learning (Mostly because I like the idea of her wanting to learn diplomacy and being fascinated by the Mandolorians.)

Don't know why I'm just seeing this now, but I'd like to participate whenever this happens (if it hasn't already). Do note though that I'll be acting moreso as a intermediary, as I will likely be the ME's de facto foreign minister, though I wouldn't put it past the Manda'lor to spearhead things in that department. My goal first and foremost would be to establish neutrality at least - I don't know what feelings remain from Roche and Alderaan, and I know the ME is neutral or edging friendly with a lot of parties that might be enemies of the GR. I don't think an alliance is exactly realistic, but if a non-aggression pact can be reached, I'd like to go for that.

The meeting is canceled, I don't want to have anything to do with the Mandalorian Empire at this point in time. Everyone here agreed that Sanya messed up submitting that mining facility without ME approval (even if she began working on it before ME went major), but I've found the ME's actions in response to be completely overkill. This should have all ended with the (implausible) glassing of Sanya's mining facility and a perfectly good supply beskar. I don't like how the ME's admins operate, directing a harassment campaign veiled as a crappy skirmish. It was painfully clear that the OP didn't do their homework on the relationship between the GR and Sanya/Sekalus. While we have some security and economic arrangments in place, Sekalus is not a GR world, and Sanya is not a citizen of the GR. Also, good idea of having a fleet originally drop in the GR capital system whilst we're in a state of total war against the Sith. That's an act of war and an infringement on our sovereignty, we would have been well within our right to obliterate the ME ships without saying a single word. That quick edit saved Blonde and company.

I'll finish out that skirmish thread with you, but after that, I have no plans on interacting with the ME staff outside negotiations for any PVP events that may occur between us in the future. You're still free to represent the ME here IC as their ambassador.

While I understand your frustrations and concerns, I do think you should carry on, or delegate to one of your FAs to deal with it. While I'm probably only echoing what the ME FAs and others have said, IC actions have IC consequences, and so long as their actions are keeping within their character, it's not up to us as writers to judge their actions. I hate for OOC actions to bleed into RP and taint an organic story.

If you'd like, I can bring it up the chain and see if a compromise can be reached, maybe I can be a PoC for your at the ME to ease the stress.

Again, I do ask you to reconsider your stance no matter how crazy things have been thus far.

I ask that you consider your tone.

While I do not doubt that this was a frustrating experience for you, this is a two way path.

You probably shouldn't get involved with them either, nor do anything that might provoke them.

It stands to reason that both parties may want to consider how their actions (and their future actions) are being interpreted by others, both In-character and Out-of-Character. These actions have IC and OOC consequences, and neither side is likely to get off scotch free without some judgement being passed by not only the involved parties, but by those who are uninvolved as well.

I've not been terribly thrilled with what I've heard about of both sides with this incident, though I haven't caught up all of the reading for this yet to come to a firm judgement on it.

I whole heartedly agree with this stance and while not involved in any way I have not been very impressed with the way this seems to be playing out.

Sanya no, don't provoke, don't interact, don't continue to prod the situation. My opinion is this has been a mess all over from all sides. I'd say I was disappointed but I have really learned that this happens and I stopped caring a long time ago so just let it pass over and continue on going forward.

If either of you care to hear my opinion on the matter let me know. I have more or less been seeing both sides of this since the beginning. I can't promise unbiased because we all are in the end, but I can maybe give a better understanding of the situation.

NVM; the end of your last post indicated the intent to finish the thread. If such the case [member="Gael bar Ammon"] it looks like Su has this IC.

I appreciate the offer but I am not in a position to arbitrate or speak on behalf of any group in this matter. So I will leave discussions to those that are.

I can only say that from my own experiences with the Imperial Remnant/Galactic Empire debacle I hate seeing these types of things go down like they do.
