Dinner After A Brawl

After having escaped The Blades pub on Nar Shadaa and having picked up both Trelock and Jae I had a promise to keep. I'd promised Jae dinner and I intended to follow through on that. Walking across the hall from my cabin where I'd had Jae set up her gear and such I knocked on her door and waited for her to pop out. I'd foregone the leather duster and instead had simply tossed on a black shirt and some clean jeans. I'd left the steaks marinating and wanted her to help out with the salad. I'd also grabbed a few things on our escape from that pub including a few bottles of top shelf wine and other alcohol. I mean we'd had a shoot-out in a bar why not grab the booze on our way out?

@Jae Jordan

As Jae boarded the ship she'd soon be spending a lot of her time on, not to mention be flying it as well, she looked around and tried to familiarise herself with where everything was. She looked around her room after Andorreth had allowed her time to settle in. She sat on the bed and smiled, happy with where she was and convinced she'd made the right choice about joining him.

She remembered she was also meant to be getting ready for the dinner he'd promised her. She took of her brown leather jacket, leaving her with the beige-y coloured t-shirt and kept her red scarf on, as well as taking off any weaponry that was on her and leaving it on the bed beside her jacket. She heard a knock on the door and walked over, as it opened she smiled at him and walked out, leaving them room and the door shutting behind her. "Shall we?" She started, about to walk off to where they'd be eating before she stopped and slowed down, turning to look back at him, "I actually have no idea where I'm going." She laughed nervously, waiting for him to take lead and show her the way. She'd remember it sooner or later.

Smiling I walked with Jae down the hall towards the kitchen on the officer's deck. I very much enjoyed this young woman in the time though brief that I'd known her there was something....almost familiar about her. I wasn't sure what though but she put me at ease. Grabbing the steaks out of the refrigerator I turned on the oven and grabbed a pan to put them in and pointing to the fridge I said "Jae there's salad stuff in the fridge that you can go ahead and pull out." I had to admit that I did find her attractive, Equal parts innocence and willingness to do what was needed. Even though we'd just met I felt some kind of spark there and wondered to myself if the feeling was mutual...

Shaking my head I put the steaks into the pan in the oven on low heat so they'd soak in all the juices and cook slowly. Grabbing two glasses I pulled a bottle of Corellian red wine out and pulling the cork I poured Jae a glass for her to have a proper drink. Then pouring myself a glass I walked up behind her and extended the glass to her grabbing the salad stuff as I did. Hopefuly she was a fan of wine as much of a smuggler as I was I still enjoyed nice things...

@Jae Jordan

She nodded and walked towards the fridge opening it and scanning the contents for what she was looking for. After a few moment she managed to find the salad stuff she was after, she grabbed it with two hands and gently shut the door with her foot, tapping it shut. She placed the contents on the counter and turned around. She leaned back on the counter and couldn't help staring at him as he prepared the steak on the pan, not in a creepy sense, more admiring. She couldn't help but find him quite handsome. Even upon first meet, she took a liking to him instantly. Perhaps it was just refreshing having someone else to turn to rather than being on her own, though she felt it was something more than that.

She instantly stood up straight and stopped starting when he turned around, glass of wine in hand extending it out to her. "Thank you." She wasn't sure whether he'd seen her or not though she hoped he hadn't caught her staring. She took a sip of the drink, wow "That, is some good wine. Nice choice." She complimented him on the drink as it had to be one of the nicest ones she'd had. She moved over next to him and looked towards the salad stuff, "Need any help with that?"

Smiling at her comment of good choice in wine I said "It should be good stuff it's Corellian. While I may not be welcome on Corellia anymore it doesn't mean I can't buy what's brewed there." I'd caught her staring briefly and smiled a bit at that. Looking at what she'd got for salad stuff out of the fridge I grabbed some croutons, and lettuce. Rolling the head of lettuce over towards her I said "You can rinse the lettuce and cut it for me. That'd actually help a bit, by the way how do you like your steak Jae?" Walking over to the fridge I pulled out some shredded chicken and walked back over towards the counter where we were doing prep work. I'd decided a Chicken Caesar salad was probably the best bet.

As she rinsed the lettuce I said "So Jae, due to that bar brawl and shoot-out I never really got to hear what brought you to Nar Shadaa. I mean you said getting a start somewhere new, but I mean you had family right? What's the story there?" Pausing I realized she may have some kind of painful memories too...osik. "I'm sorry if I'm prying, I just want to know more about my new, and quite attractive pilot..." She was attractive and I thought it was worth mentioning to her. Taking a sip of my wine I waited and popped a crouton into my mouth to keep me from speaking for a few minutes...

She nodded and put her glass down before grabbing the lettuce and moving towards the sink, rinsing the leaves. She turned the tap off and moved over to the counter grabbing a knife she started taking a couple leaves off and cutting them into smaller pieces. "Well done please." she answered his question before she started to look for a bowl, after two failed attempts she managed to find one and placed the cut up lettuce into the bowl.

She looked over to him when he started to ask her about her past. She smiled lightly and looked down, nodded slowly a few times, she knew she'd have to explain it sooner or later. That's what you do, get to know your crew. "Family, yeh. Well, I grew up on Pamarthe and I had a great childhood there were no dramas, though I felt confined and I was extremely adventurous when I was a child. So I had to get out." She paused for minute before continuing, "my people are known for flying. So that was a skill I would learn regardless and I started learning when I was young. When I was good enough I ended up leaving my home world...without telling anyone. They would've stopped me if I had." She folded her arms and her expression turned into one of anger, at herself. "While I was being an idiot with stars in my head, and only worrying about myself..I wasn't there when my parents passed away." She felt a tear slide down her cheek and quickly wiped it away.

Sighing I said "I'm sorry Jae I didn't mean to bring up painful memories. I think they'd have been proud of you even if you weren't there. You're flying among the stars now, maybe that's the way you honor them..." I caught her saying she liked her steak well done and I went to check the steaks. Opening up the oven I pulled out the pan with a mitt and flipped the steaks before putting them back in. About Five more minutes probably for the steaks, heading back over to the counter I grabbed the shredded chicken and tossed it into the bowl of lettuce that Jae had cut. Grabbing a bag of croutons and some bacon bits I tossed those into the salad as well. Once the steaks came out I'd pour in the dressing, taking another sip of my wine I looked at Jae and simply enjoyed the view. If she caught me staring at her well I wasn't gonna apologize for a fantastic view...

@Jae Jordan

She smiled sadly and shook her head, "No, it's fine. I probably would've told you sooner or later." She recomposed herself, and calmed down, trying to focus on something else, and the first thing that came to her head was what Andorreth had said, about her honouring her parents by flying amongst the stars. She'd never thought about it that way. What he'd said had calmed her down, and for that she thanked him. She grabbed her glass before taking another sip of her wine, she watched him move around the kitchen, preparing the salad for the two of them. She looked around the place and thought about how drastically and quickly her life had changed, for the better, that she was positive of. She turned back and saw Andorreth staring at her, she looked away for a second, smiling as that same shade of red crept onto her face. "So, how bout you? And your family? I know you told me a bit about your brother and how you were exiled. But what about your parents? Were they in the picture?" She asked in return.

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Smiling I said "Well I told you about what happened to my brother on Nar Shadaa, but before all that happened I was still not exactly proper nobility. My dad was the one who taught me to pilot and I started out with speeder bikesand I still love them, but as for teaching me about etiquette in terms of combat and dueling that was my brother. He said that while I should be able to win a battle honorably that sometimes the best way was the Corellian way. To fight dirty to prevent unneeded bloodshed which is what I do now as a smuggler...guess that's my way of honoring my family..."

Shrugging I looked at Jae and said "in any case my brother's advice with women is something to live by. He said that with men under your command as well as with women that as long as you treat both with respect and the loyalty due them that you'd be hard pressed to have either desert you." Smiling I took a whiff of the air and went to check the steaks. Pulling them out of the oven I pulled a knife and cut a slit in both steaks to check them. Mine was done to a medium rare and hers was continuing to finish cooking from the heat. Placing them on the counter I grabbed a couple plates and two sets of silverware. As much as I wanted to eat here in the kitchen area I had the option for going into my cabin and up into the deck above my cabin. That was what I was planning on, giving Jae an unmatched view....

OOC: Ignore above post haha I just signed back in and accidentally posted under my main.

(haha it's all good, I've done that too many times XD)

She looked at him as he spoke about his past, finding it quite interesting. She smiled when she heard about his father teaching him to pilot a ship. Much like herself. As he continued speaking she noticed that throughout his speech he didn't mention his mother once. She wondered if there were painful memories regarding his mother, she debated whether or not to ask further about it, not wanting to remind him of anything that he'd tried to forget. She contemplated it for a few moments in her head before she came to the conclusion of leaving it for another time. Perhaps she'd ask about it later on though not right now. She didn't want to turn the night into one of sorrow and pain, as she was frankly enjoying herself a lot this night with Andorreth as company.

She smiled when she heard about his brother's advice. Nodding her head as it was quite true, to be completely honest. "Don't worry, I don't plan on deserting you any time soon." She assured him. She took another sip on her wine before the oven was opened and the scent of the steaks filled the air, she moved the salad over to where the plates and silverware was. Changing the topic she decided to ask about his Force abilities, she'd never known anyone personally that could use the Force, so this was quite intriguing to her, she'd always wanted to know more about it. "So when did you find out about your connection to the Force?" She asked, wondering to herself afterwards if she'd used the correct terminology.

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Smiling as she asked about finding out about my connection to The Force I grabbed the Caesar dressing from the fridge and poured a generous amount over the salad. Grabbing the bowl I shuffled it around in the lettuce before speaking. "Well when I found out about it was roughly a year after moving to Coruscant from Corellia. See I was exiled from my family's property but allowed to stay on the planet, after I'd moved to Coruscant I'd found out I was working in the lower levels populated by gangs, bounty hunters and the like. I was never paid what I worked to earn and so with living costs and trying to feed myself I ended up having to risk what spare change I had from tips at the diner and bar down in the casino's owned by the crime lords." Pausing I grabbed the steaks and switched them to a plate atop the bowl of salad.

"One night after I'd gone to the casinos I sat at a table and was able to foresee several seconds ahead the cards I'd get without ever looking at them. After that I played the chance cubes and was just idly moving my hands when I noticed the cubes would follow my hand movements. Then I sort of just messed around and went on a spree of winning at the cubes, and at cards. Then as I was walking out I had someone pull a blaster on me. I saw what they'd do next before even moving but then when he moved he did exactly as I'd seen. I was able to dodge, strip the gun from him and knock him out. I sought out people who knew about The Force and found out I was Force Sensitive." After kicking the oven off I looked towards Jae and said "If you'll grab the other plate and set of silverware that'd be awesome. Then you can just follow me beautiful..."

@Jae Jordan

Hearing the stories from Andorreth intrigued her, she found the Force quite fascinating despite rarely seeing it in action in front of her eyes. She nodded at his request and grabbed the plate along with the silverware before smiling at his compliment. She caught up with him and walked beside him. "Do you plan on getting further training with the Force?" She asked, though once the words left her mouth the idea lingered in her head, would that mean he'd have to leave and train with a Jedi Master? Her knowledge of the Force was very limited and the thought of him leaving to receive more advanced training brought a slight frown to her face. She had to admit she'd warmed up to Andorreth faster than she'd ever done with anyone else before, she enjoyed his presence and was taking a very big liking towards him, not to mention she had to say she did find him attractive.

She continued to walk with him, unaware of where he was taking her. "Where exactly are we going?" She asked with a curious smile across her face. As she walked along all she could smell was the scent of the steaks and they smelt great, he'd done a marvellous job of cooking them! She started to get an idea of where certain spots were located on the ship, her new room and now the kitchen she knew were places she'd be able to get to without fail. It wouldn't take her too long to get her bearings she just needed to explore the ship a little.

As she asked about further training with The Force I mulled over the idea in my mind. If I were to do so then I'd need to fin a Master that'd work with me while allowing me to still maintain my life of smuggling... As we made our way back towards the officers cabins I said "Honestly Jae I hadn't thought too much about it. If I were to get training then I'd want to have a place of my own that my crew would have full access to. A sort of home base, probably out in the mid rim somewhere that I could call home and provide a sort of home for my crew. I could either meet with a Master there or fly to meet with a Master elsewhere. Part of the reason I haven't sought out anyone to train me was that I'm a smuggler but I almost feel like I should seek out training..." Perhaps once I'd set up a sort of home base out on a mid-rim world somewhere I would seek out training for now though I was fine with the smuggler's life.

We'd made our way back to the outside of my cabin. Kicking open the door I headed inside my cabin with the food and after setting the salad bowl with steak down on top of my bed I looked at Jae I said "well this is where we're going Jae. As for the real surprise well if you'll join me then I'll show you what it is...." I'd heard of ships that had meditation chambers attached to the captain's cabin but I'd opted for a different option. I'd had a panel installed above my bed that was multi-layer shielded glasteel and there was another section of my cabin that slid back like a luxury speeder sky-roof. I was betting heavily that Jae would love the view...

@Jae Jordan

As Andorreth answered her question about a Master, a teeny tiny selfish part of Jae couldn't help but feel slightly joyous that looking for a Jedi Master was not currently on Andorreth's priority list. Although she was happy with how Andorreth had proposed his going about getting a Jedi Master. Still worrying about his crew. She found it to be an admirable trait, always keeping the crew as one of a captains top priorities. She smiled as he continued to talk. A home base would be the best option for this particular situation.

As the duo entered Andorreths cabin she carefully laid her food down next to his own before joining him just as he had requested. She tilted her head slightly whilst she smirked and narrowed her eyes at him in a playful and curious manner, wondering what it was he was about to show her. As she walked with him she waited to see what the big surprise was until it was finally revealed to her. Her lips parted slightly as her eyes lit up like that of a child's upon receiving a new toy of some sort. The view was absolutely amazing!! "Wow.." Was all that she could conjure up, as it only came out as a soft whisper. She took a few steps forward taking in the astounding view, "This is a view I could only dream of." She laughed lightly at the end.

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Smiling at her reaction I looked at Jae and said "Not a bad view eh? I had this bit of the ship designed especially for having this view." Patting the bed where I sat I pulled the steak plate off the top of the salad bowl and using the silverware on the spare plate I dished out a helping of salad onto her plate while also grabbing her steak and moving it to her plate. Doing the same with my plate I let her enjoy the view while dishing up my own plate. Gently nudging her I handed her plate to her and took another sip of my wine as I waited for her to try the steak. Her question about training in The Force had me thinking though I needed to start taking some trips out to the mid rim to find a place where I could set up a sort of home base. For now though I was content to simply enjoy a steak and salad with a gorgeous young woman...

@Jae Jordan

She smiled and turned back to him, "Bet you show all the girls this view." She said in a joking manner, laughing lightly before turning back and gazing at the view once again, "don't blame you, it's an amazing view." She turned when she was gently nudged and nodded in thanks as she took her steak along with the salad that'd been dished up alongside it. She took a bite and hummed shortly, more than happy with her dinner, it'd been a little while since she'd had a proper dinner. "You may have said you were osik at making soup, but this is great!" She complimented him on his cooking whilst taking another bite of her steak. "Thanks for this Andorreth, you didn't have to, but I do appreciate it." She wanted to make sure Andorreth knew she was grateful for all that he had done for her, not just the dinner but everyone before also. From helping her when they had first met all the way to offering her a place with his crew, and making her family.

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Chuckling lightly at her comment of showing all the girls this view I said "Well no actually, just got the ship and due to my not having much interaction with females to date can't say I've showed anyone but you this view." Slicing through my steak as she took a bit I inclined my head slightly as she thanked me. "I promised you dinner on Nar Shadaa Jae I do try to keep the promises I make. As for everything else well we're just getting started on further adventures. Besides, I've never really had the opportunity to spoil any women and cooking is one of the things I'm good at. Way I figure, you're important so why not spoil ya?"

Spearing some of the salad along with steak I took a bite and chewed as I thought about what our next job would be...While it'd been nice to get off Nar Shadaa with an armed swoop bike as Captain it'd be my job to find paying work. While we could pick up a few cargo runs here and there our priority should be getting a base set up somewhere. In order to do that we'd need materials for construction along with the funds to start building. Once committed to it we'd need to set up the base in a secluded, and defensible location. After that we'd also need to establish our own pirated holo-net relay or slice into one so we could remain off the grid of being noticed by other factions in the galaxy... We needed to strip some wrecks out in the rim for the materials that'd be our first step. For now though I was content to simply eat my steak and salad and spend time looking at the stars with Jae...

@Jae Jordan

She laughed lightly at his reply, "Well then, I feel even more special." She replied in regards to being the only one he's shown this view to. She took another bite of her food before turning to face him as he spoke again. She smiled at him, she liked that he tried his best to keep the promises he made, so far he was doing a good job. She had to admit he had numerous admirable qualities and characteristics that anyone could fall for. Not only was he an extremely likeable person, he also made for a very good captain. She hadn't gone on an 'official' mission with him yet, though given their past encounters and troubles, Andorreth displayed many qualities of a good captain, and that was evident. "You're a very good Captain y'know? Have you ever done this before?" She asked curiously, "Or maybe you're just a natural born leader." She added, laughing lightly.

As she waited for his reply his past words had repeated themselves in her head, his not having much interaction with females to date. She wondered if he was alluding to something from using the term, not that she had an issue with it, in fact she was willing enough to see where this would go. She smiled before taking another bite of her steak and
