SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: D'hara
  • Classification: Temple, Ritual Site, Prison
  • Location: Osseriton
  • Affiliation: Brotherhood of the Maw, Darth Thonrin
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics:
    • 87% Human
    • 13% Assorted other species
  • Accessibility: D'hara is located deep beneath the surface of Osseriton. The only access point to the underground cave network where D'hara is located is guarded by elements of the Brotherhood of the Maw, as it is within the confines of one of the planets numerous penal colonies. An unassuming door, without any markings or identification, if one did not know what to look for the entrance to D'hara might be entirely missed. Should one stumble upon the entrance and begin to traverse into the depths of the underground network, they would find themselves travelling down a narrow winding road, with steep drop offs on either side and room for but a single person to walk down at a time.
  • Description: D'hara is a massive underground complex of structures built across several dozen caverns. The caverns are vast landscapes of jagged rocks, pits of eternal flame, and cages filled to the brim with prisoners and experiments Darth Thonrin has brought into his domain. The cries of despair and agony are constant companions for those who enter D'hara, and a near physical feeling of dread comes across those unprepared for what they will experience within. The main cavern holds the Broken Tower, a kilometer tall projection of rock hollowed out to serve the needs of Darth Thonrin. From the Broken Tower, dozens of narrow walkways lead off into the darkness of D'hara, each one leading to similar constructs across the vast domain.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Broken Tower: Located at the center of D'hara is the Broken Tower, the primary base of operations for Darth Thonrin and the center of the vast complex he rules. A narrow walkway is the only way to approach the Broken Tower, with ragged banners of dark red and black cloth lining both sides bearing the banners of various different things. Some of these banners depict the New Sith Order, others the old Sith Empire, and more are of unknown origin, and simply looking upon them brings a sense of dread to ones mind. Stone stairs lead up to a massive entryway, lit by braziers set into the wall on both sides. Once inside, you are confronted by three stone statues. Beneath the feat of each statue is a staircase leading to a different part of the Broken Tower.
    • Beneath the feet of the first statue, depicting the ancient Naga Sadow, the stairs will lead you upwards into the throne room of Darth Thonrin. Black stone lines the entire chamber, and candles are set seemingly at random across its entire length. A red carpet leads you down the center of the throne room to the steps of the Obsidian Throne, the seat of Darth Thonrin himself. The Obsidian Throne is massive in size and appearance, and skulls of pure black stone have been carved into the arms of both sides, constantly opened in a silent scream with a burning flame in their center.
    • Beneath the feet of the second statue, depicting the venerated Exar Kun, the stairs will lead you down into the depths of D'hara. A long, winding passage will eventually open onto the vast catacomb floor of D'hara. Here, the vast prison camps of D'hara can be accessed. A path winds its way through a sea of cages set into the stone of the cavern floor, with metal bars over the tops. No light is within the cells, and only when a guard bearing a light source passes will those within ever see light, but they fear even these times. Large towers dot the prison section of the Broken Tower, with silent sentinels standing permanent vigil.
    • Beneath the third and final statue, depicting the recently elevated Darth Solipsis, stairs will lead to a large sectioned off portion of the Broken Tower. Here, dozens of chambers have been set aside for living quarters, alchemy labs, and training centers for those who come to reside within D'hara and the Broken Tower. Further into this section of the Broken Tower resides the Council of the Shadows, the place dedicated to use by the leading members of the New Sith Order should they ever come to D'hara.
  • Colosseum of the Dead: Located in one of the larger caverns spanning D'hara, the Colosseum of the Dead is a theater built for the amusement of Darth Thonrin and the his Sith allies, as well as a place to test new biological beasts of war. Black and red thrones are set around the uppermost level of the Colosseum, giving viewers an unobstructed view of the sand covered floor. A separate box is set aside for the Dark Lord of the Sith, and draped with the banners of the New Sith Order and Brotherhood of the Maw alike. The floor of the colosseum is interchangeable, able to be altered to provide a number of different combat environments for spectators.
    • Dozens of small chambers are connected to the Colosseum of the Dead, torture pits being the most common. Within these chambers, the combatants for upcoming games are put through intense agony, intended to bring out their inner rage and wrath so that when released into the Colosseum to face their enemies, they are without fear over the prospect of their own deaths.
    • One option for the Colosseum of the Dead is an execution pit, a single raised platform on a field of lava. Here, traitors or enemies of the New Sith Order can be tried before the assembled Sith, and made to suffer should it be so chosen, or given a quick death.
  • Heart of Darkness: The Heart of Darkness is the name given to the barracks where the Broken Knights, the personal guardians of Darth Thonrin reside. Situated near the Broken Tower, the Heart of Darkness is a large rectangular structure suspended in the air by chains locked into the walls of the cavern, with a retractable bridge leading to the Broken Tower itself. Three separate living blocks are situated along the outer edges of the Heart of Darkness, with a large training center in the middle of the structure. Torches are the only light within the Heart of Darkness, and the Broken Knights must use their senses as much as their vision to navigate the intentionally confusing layout of their home.
  • The Eternal Forge: Located in the deepest cavern of D'hara, the Eternal Forge is the location within which Darth Thonrin and his closest allies forge their weapons and armor. A massive forge made from pure obsidian hangs suspended over a cavern filled with lava, used to fuel the flames of creation. Located at the deepest and most central point of all D'hara, the Eternal Forge is able to draw upon the suffering and rage of the vast prison camps above it to give new life and power to the creations that emerge from its bellows.

SECURITY-Low
Other than the Broken Knights that serve as the personal guards of Darth Thonrin, there is little in the way of direct security for D'hara. The secret location and limited avenues of approach offer enough protection in the eyes of Thonrin, and those determined enough to risk the darkness of D'hara are welcome to try. The life of a Sith is one of challenge and adversity, and should any decide to come seeking a fight in D'hara, they are more than likely to find one waiting for them. The narrows walkways that span the various caverns of D'hara offer a form of protection, as individuals are only able to cross them one at a time, limited the sheer number of those seeking to move about D'hara.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Construction on D'hara began many decades ago, long before the birth of Darth Thonrin or the creation of the Brotherhood of the Maw. Originally intended to be a high security prison complex even more severe than those already on the prison world, the cavern were hollowed out over the course of several generations of enforced labor. Countless skeletons litter D'hara to this day, evidence of the harsh labor required to excavate the kilometers of caverns. Following the Brotherhood of the Maw's securement of the world, Darth Thonrin took special interest in the ancient project, and breathed fresh life into it.

He poured every resource and bit of influence he had into finishing the decades old excavation project, and expanding further upon it with structures built deep beneath the surface of Osseriton. Establishing his base of operations in the largest of the new caverns, Thonrin began to expand out from there, building a proper home for a Sith and a seat of influence for the ever growing New Sith Order.
