- Lightsaber: It is a lightsaber. It can cut through almost anything, deflect blaster bolts, and is among the most lethal class of melee weapons in the galaxy.
- Bonded Crystal: The kyber crystal is bonded with Anet Raine. It attunes to her emotions and reflects her nature in the Force. This can manifest as adding weight to her attacks when she is angry, increasing the speed of her blocks and strikes when she is fearful, or inflicting the presence of her emotions on other Force Users when their blades clash.
- Bites: An unstable containment field gives this lightsaber a wavering form, and flares of plasma erupt irregularly from the blade - more often when it makes contact with something. While these flares typically dissipate after a second or two, they are still scorching hot and dangerous. This can prove vicious in tight clashes, where Devotion is spitting plasma with every strike and parry.
- Bites Back: The spitting plasma is an indiscriminate quirk of the weapon. They can hit Anet as easily as they might hit her opponent. They can also damage her surroundings or set objects ablaze.
- Damaged: As seen in the visible wear and tear, Devotion is quite damaged. It is a fallible blade made of standard materials with average resistances only. If it has been damaged already, it can be broken permanently.
Devotion was once a proud and noble weapon in the possession of the Jedi Knight who crafted it. He fought bravely on Kattada but fell defending the Enclave. His lightsaber - like many others - was taken by the Sith Covenant as a trophy among other spoils. It was one of the several lightsabers handed out to the first-generation acolytes on Desevro, where it became Anet Raine’s weapon.
The device itself is unremarkable, but well-made. Proven by the fact that it still works despite extensive damage and a lack of routine maintenance. None of the materials or components used in its construction is noteworthy, and the original crystal was a brilliant blue. It was later turned crimson by Anet Raine during the Invasion of Coruscant, where, under emotional duress, she hounded Kirie Corsell when the latter attempted to flee the Covenant. During a declaration of her intent to see Kirie down her path as a Sith, she bled her emotions into the crystal, filling it with a violent devotion.
On that day, the crystal bonded to her, and it resonates with her nature in the Force, reflecting her emotions and will with every swing, strike, and parry. Most notably, the weapon is highly unstable, spitting hot streaks of red plasma with aggressive swings and every attack. This suits Raine’s style well, as she is a butcher rather than a duelist, preferring to exploit openings with hard, decisive blows, and otherwise avoiding the dance of blades so many Sith and Jedi are accustomed to.
