DEV House DeVoe Caregiver

Internal skeletal structure composed of common alloys infused with, but not limited to cortosis, dura-steel, and matrix compounds enabling DEV to self repair. Redundant internal processors both hardwired and wireless connected, located in various parts of her skeletal construction throughout (DEV can operate with severed head for example).
DEV, or at least her concept design and function/purpose has been in use in the DeVoe family household for nearly 10 generations.
Current upgrade of DEV enables her to change out her outer skin coverings to any human/non-human species of her choice or that of her ward's desire/preference. Currently and for two DeVoe generations, she has been free to chose her own coverings.
DEV's skin coverings are not human skin, but of foam substrates that mimic human skin, texture and receptive. DEV can both feel human touch and can register a form of pain reception, through micro receptors to mimic that of near human.
DEV travels with a skin repair kit like one would travel with a makeup kit. It contains enough of the matrix substrate that can be foamed into new skin for repair or identity change.
DEV's skin is not total self repairing as her internal skeletal works are. If cut, it will excrete a red compound that mimics blood before it seals. The seal will remain as a cut and eventually bond to resemble scar tissue. A repair from the kit or at home base can completely repair damaged skin substrate.
DEV was originally conceptually designed and built by Duke Olsen DeVoe in an era when Alderaanii were scattered throughout the galaxy following the destruction of their home world by the then Galactic Empire many centuries earlier and before the terra forming of New Alderaan.
DEV's protocol is that of a Caregiver, a Nanny to young DeVoe family members... namely the DeVoe children. Her purpose and role is to help raise young DeVoes, to help nurture them, educate them, and train them physically as they approach adulthood. DEV does not take the place of a mother, but that of a nursemaid, then teacher and so on. Young DeVoe children up until they are sent abroad for broader education are trained in the art of steel...sword play. Of course sword play is what it is initially called when they are very young, but the means and results by the time they are of age makes the DeVoe children very proficient in using the sword in any form and style. That said and done, DEV currently is housed on MT Huhl as she serves there as housekeeper to the mountain chalet that the DeVoes use as a ski/vac lodge. DEV resides there as she had served her purpose in helping to raise the three DeVoe children; Katie DeVoe 28,

DEV is considered more a family member and sort of aunt by Marina DeVoe. Marina, along with other members of House DeVoe visit the mountain top chalet often and DEV is always there to greet them.
What will transpire in the stories is the development of a real friendship between DEV and Marina that goes beyond centuries old protocol.
