SPECIAL FEATURES
  • N/A, it's a large rocket pod that fires a swarm of unguided rockets.
STRENGTHS
  • No Deactivation For You: Typical ECM countermeasures do not work against rockets fired from the Demolisher Rocket Pod as the electronics are very simple and the warhead is unguided. Missile Deactivation Transmitters are useless against it.
  • Tandem Charge: The rockets equipped by the Demolisher have tandem charges and are specially designed to pierce the heavy armor of the slow targets they are usually employed against.
  • Unrelenting Swarm: The Demolisher fires a large amount of rockets with a wide spread that make it difficult for the point defense systems of larger vessels to intercept them all efficiently, especially when fired at ships with large profiles.
WEAKNESSES
  • Unguided Missiles: The missiles loaded in a Demolisher are unguided. Once fired, they soar to their trajectory...and only to that trajectory. They cannot be altered midcourse, which could lead to friendly fire incidents if a commander is not careful.
  • Ineffective Against Mobile Targets: Relatively fast and maneuverable craft like starfighters and capital ships that have invested in speed/maneuverability and have less to fear from the Demolisher as it typically designed to go up against slow, heavy, and far less maneuverable capital ships.
  • Ineffective Against Smaller Vessels/Well-Angled Vessels: Starfighters and ships with smaller profiles have much less to fear from the Demolishers, the smaller one is, the less of its missiles are likely to hit. A frigate facing straight forward with a narrow front profile will take much less fire than a Star Destroyer or Cruiser showing their full broadside to a Demolisher Pod for example.
DESCRIPTION

Developed in the wake of anti-energy and anti-sophisticated weaponry being more widespread in the Galaxy, the Demolisher Rocket Pod fires a swarm of unguided tandem rockets that covers a wide area at medium to long ranges. The rockets pack a comparatively powerful punch with the space afforded by lacking guidance systems taken up by a larger warhead, improved propulsion systems, and thicker armor making them harder to shoot down. It tends to perform better the larger the target one fires it at due to the better chance of striking with multiple rockets. A wise commander often uses Demolishers to overwhelm enemy point defense systems before opening fire with guided concussion missiles, lasers, or torpedoes.
