STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum)
[+] The Professor: Curious and keenly observant, Deja is naturally drawn to and finds escape in intellectual pursuits.

[+] The Counselor: Aided by an innate but untrained Force skill, Deja’s deeply intuitive nature affords her an uncanny ability to get inside the minds of others.

[+] Deja Uses Money. It’s Super Effective!: Deja was born into a wealthy family and has benefited from the advantages of her prosperous background.

[-] There is No Such Thing as a Free Lunch: Deja’s benefactor parents frequently remind her of her debt to them… and collect on that debt. A well-kept hostage of circumstance, it is not uncommon that Deja is asked to do or say things that contradict her ideals.

[-]Happy Family Charade: Deja’s parent’s volatile moods and inflated senses of self-worth have plagued her into adulthood, leaving her with relational trauma which has clandestinely shaped the woman she has become. She avoids the inglorious duo when she can. When she can’t, she’s found it easier to simply play along with their sham.

[-]Light Armor Squishy Class: With the exception of her courses in crisis management and conflict resolution, Deja has had no formal defensive or offensive physical training.

PERSONALITY
At her best, Deja is quietly forceful, sensitive and extremely intuitive. She harbors compassion for others and concerned for their feelings. Unlike the people who gave her life, Deja adheres to a well-developed values system. When she is safe, Deja is remarkably sincere. When her clients are safe, she expects and works to elicit the same.

At her worst, Deja is avoidant, guarded, anxious and self-critical. When asked to talk about her background, Deja has a tendency to politely decline or redirect. She is expected to speak highly of her parents in all places, at all times as a slip of the tongue (read: accidental moment of authenticity) could snowball into a scandal. As such, Deja may seem extroverted now and again, but only because she prefers keeping the focus on others rather than herself.

She is more likely to be individualistic, rather than leading or following. Organized, Force-based religions never appealed to her, but she does take comfort in her belief in an objective good. She enjoys analyzing the big picture and following the spider web of connections between elements, but it is easy for her to get wrapped up to the point of distraction. An ever-curious observer, Deja relishes glimpsing into the dark places of the soul… and taking notes.

Dr. Dehlia Bloom, Ph.D
Celebrity psychologist Dr. Bloom is a self-help guru who sells quick fixes for complicated problems. Her warm and affable nature on her program, The Dr. Bloom Show, is a façade that hides a callous and calculating personality. She married Luc-Remi Bloom III when she was in her early 20s for his money, the prestige of his name and the boost he could provide to her career. Shortly after they wed, Dehlia Bloom had one child to legally bind him to their marriage contract.

Luc-Remi Bloom III, Chairman of Nautilus Media Consortium (NMC)
Luc-Remi Bloom, third of his name, is a man born of a long line of enterprising capitalists. Luc-Remi inherited a fortune upon his late father’s passing and promptly began buying out small media companies, absorbing them and crafting what he referred to as a “superior, streamlined holonet”. Presently, Nautilus Media Consortium controls enough influence in keystone sectors to keep ad revenue and service fees artificially high. The sensationalistic content Luc-Remi streams is so sordidly addictive, though, that few planets have opted out of NMC access.

Private Practice
Profile_C.jpg

Deja's private practice is located at 18 Victoria Road in Avalonia's Garden District. The single-storied building in which her office resides rests between a large, circular public fountain and short row of gallery shops. Due to its position away from the main boulevard, the area is quiet and calm. The office is used for psychotherapeutic sessions. Initial appointments are made via Deja's A.I. secretarial program. Thereafter, follow-up appointments should be scheduled in-person. For the purposes of confidentiality, clients are asked to wait in the lobby before being greeted and invited inside.

Thank you very much for the welcome... and the invitation.

Don't forget, as with real-world therapists, not all Chaos patients will respond well to any given therapist, or to therapy in general.

The train of thought that went behind my decision to play Cathul as a Witch was: because I would expect Force-using patients (of which there are many if you just thread about therapy with PC patients) to be unresponsive to FU therapists of opposite alignment, and Witches not having a specific Force-alignment (i.e. light or dark), they had more freedom to take FU patients. On the other hand, it could be tempting, especially to dark-sided FU therapists, to just use the Force to solve a patient's problems, whereas NFU patients usually wouldn't care about whether their therapists are Force-users or not, let alone their Force-alignment.

And NFU therapists are vulnerable to FU patients using the Force to drive their therapists crazy or render them ineffective.

Mental healthcare is one of those thousands of things that is neglected or otherwise under-represented in SW canon but had to be there on some level.
