Decker's Will

Decker had come to Naboo, this planet had been his childhood home. It wasn't so much as a vacation, and more so another training opportunity. But for now he and his squadron were resting here, and he had heard a couple of other squadrons had also come to this system. Though he had yet to meet any of them.

He had stopped off in a hangar, looking over some fighters in the hangar. His fighter was aboard the squadron's home ship, along with the other fighters of the squadron. Decker had missed his home on Naboo, and had not visited in such a long time since joining. He hummed to himself a little song he had learned on this planet while sitting by a fighter, looking it over.

"You like it?" Airi teased, appearing out from behind the MRF-1 Starfighter. "First fighter I didn't have to steal from some slaver. I could get used to the Alliance." Her voice had a hint of a Twi'lek accent, something she never attempted to cover up much.

She sized up the man in front of her in a not-so-subtle manner, straining her eyes and pushing her lips to one side of her mouth in what appeared to be deep thought. When her face returned to normal, she offered her hand to shake as she said, "Airi Tobec. You could say I'm a um... freedom fighter."

Decker nearly jumped out of his skin as he heard a voice from behind the fighter he was observing. Leaning around he managed to spy the speaker, a twi-lek. "Your fighter, huh?" He put a hand along his chin, resting his elbow against his other arm now crossed across his chest. "How fast is it? And what sort of power is it packing? What kind of weapons?" He was very interested in almost any fighter. Decker wondered just how fast it was compared to the X-Wings of Mynock Squadron.

"Decker. Decker Willo" he replied, taking her hand and shaking it. "Could say I'm a...born leader." He had trained with friends that formed Mynock Squadron, and they had picked him to be the leader since. "Squad leader to Mynock Squadron...kind of new about here" he added, still looking up the fighter owned by [member="Airi Tobec"].

"Fast enough," she replied with a smirk. "And laser cannons, mostly. Enough heavies to take down most gunships, and more than enough autocannons to dogfight with the best of them. It's uh, how you would say... a jack of all trades."

She listened to him describe himself, shrugging by the time their hands parted ways. "You are a born leader, this is good. I'm a born follower, this is what I do best. My squad leader, Nuuc, is like you. I don't know how long I will be here serving under him, but as long as I can fly, I will be a happy pilot."

Airi raised her chin a little and narrowed her eyes at [member="Decker Willo"] as she leaned against her fighter. "What do you fly?"

A jack of all trades, was it? He looked it over again. "Jack of all trades, huh?" An ace fighter, an ace in the hole. A versatile ship. [member="Airi Tobec"] spoke of herself being more of a follower, and in a squadron. The squad leader's name didn't ring any bells however. "Which squadron is this? I don't believe I have heard of him before."

"T-70 X-Wings. They've proved effective for us so far...though I started off here, on Naboo and used some of the Naboo ships." It was his home after all. He had begun training here, thanks to his family ties.

She proudly crossed her arms with a smirk, saying, "I work with the Salvation. It's a ship that houses a crew of freed slaves. Needless to say, our work ends only when every slave is freed."

Naboo had never been her home. After Ryloth, she had never been able to settle down anywhere, for that matter. The skies were always calling.

"I never had real training. Totally self-taught. I started out by stealing whatever ship I could get my hands on. Don't worry, they all belonged to bad people."

[member="Decker Willo"]

Decker Willo nodded, that was quite the goal. An admirable one as well, no doubts about that. "I think I have heard murmurs about it, here and there." Not too much about it, he mostly knew it by reputation and name.

"I trained with friends of my father, and then made friends and we all became pilots." He had lost one of those friends recently in a firefight. He smirked at her. "One less ship for them to count on. The looks on their faces must have been priceless."

"I just love the feeling of open space, you know?" Her eyes peered off into the distance as a hint of sentimentality hit her. "I never want to be in a situation where I can no longer fly away from everything if I feel like it. Maybe that makes me unreliable, but it's never changing."

[member="Decker Willo"]

Decker shrugged. The reason he flied was cause he had grown up flying. And it gave him the chance to explore the galaxy in his own way, and with a purpose. He glanced at her, tilting his head a little. "It most certainly is a rough situation, that it could be...but tough situations happen." He knew that since the day he lost a friend. And he suddenly had a grim look. "So, Airi, you like the feeling of open space do you?" He looked out away from Airi, and to the exit of the hangar. "I was planning on flying out in a bit...do some maneuvers."

Decker Willo smirked back towards [member="Airi Tobec"]. He was pretty sure he did know what he was getting into. "Oh, I think I do. A bit of competition never hurt anyone, did it?" At least he hoped this would not end in anyone getting hurt.

Decker gave a two finger salute as she got up into her ship's seat. His ship was elsewhere in the hangar, and he would then go after it. "Yes indeed, we shall see" he answered back to [member="Airi Tobec"].
