"Ho there, pilgrims. Reckon most of us made it through the gate clean. I guess every once in a while both suns shine on a womp rat's tail."
Captain Kyros revved the engine of his treadspeeder. His wide brimmed hat marked the duros out to the others while his trademark stache languished beneath a bandana. Wild Space was still crawling with Sith warbands and other marauders but these weren't just any old smugglers. They were with the Spacer Guild. Landing on poisonous Weken undetected had been a trivial matter. Transporting their cargo through the hypergate took a little more finesse. This was the part that would earn them their hazard pay.
"Now I scouted the route my own self but this place sure has a mercurial nature. Lost half my crew to time sands and the other half to locals. Nasty creatures, ol Sly calls them geists. Dead round here don't seem all that quiet. Just keep moving and we'll be in the Core in no time."
While the galaxy still reeled in compounding disaster the opening hypergates represented boundless new territory. With any land rush of course came opportunity. For those smugglers brave enough to haul cargo either by land vehicle or on foot a simple gauntlet of nightmares could not only slash days even weeks off a journey, it could bypass security for example surrounding a world recently placed under martial law. Sly glanced back at the crates of disruptor rifles marked for delivery to awaiting Byss dissidents. Crimson eyes lingered on the other guild contractors. He couldn't move all these weapons on his own but any one of them could be with the SIA.
"Whatever you do, don't stop. For all we know there are Sith wizards or Nihil raiders on our heels. Avoid any Alliance entanglements."
Tormented shrieks carried on unnatural winds drawing a sharp look from Captain Kyros.
"Tarnation! We've already lingered. Let's kick it into corellian overdrive."
OBJECTIVES
- Spacer Guild: Transport illegal cargo through the netherworld from Weken to Byss. Don't get killed by ghosts.
- Task Force Xesh: Use the Spacer Guild contract to infiltrate Byss dissidents for the SIA.
- Galactic Alliance: Intercept the smuggling operation as they approach the Byss hypergate.
- Pirates: Do what you want cause a pirate is free. Raid the smuggler convoy for an easy mark.
- Sith: Pursue the miscreants who would dare use the Tingel Arm's conflagration for their own weak minded ends.
- Other: Choose your own adventure.
