Private Death Becomes Them

DEATH BECOMES THEM

Sith Empire
Jutrand, Solarium

The galaxy thought her dead; in the months and years following the Invasion of Coruscant, a body had not been found. The tower she had been using as a headquarters had been struck by Turbolasers, demolished, and sent crashing into the streets and underlevels of the vast, planet-spanning city below. It wasn't long after that the Galactic Alliance fell, a final stand that saw it hold back the tide for a moment longer before the flood rushed over them to make way for a new host of the Core worlds. It was a belief she permitted to remain: that she was long gone, a phantom that died with the government she was alleged to have sought to destroy from within.

As the Mandalorians and the Sith drew closer together, it was unlikely that any would think twice about the Mandalorian striding silently through the halls. Either some hired thug or personal bodyguard on some errand for some Sith Lord that held the being in retainer. It was more than enough to ensure that she would not be disturbed as she made her way deeper into the heart of the Sith Empire. Had she had that capacity, she might have felt the Dark Side of the Force hanging in the very air, or the oppression of the Sith that broke others' spirits; for the woman, it was merely another planet among many hanging in the abyss of space.

Each stride was measured, each bringing her closer to her goal. She held herself high, confidence pushing through as she brushed past soldiers and guards alike, not permitting a single individual to stop her as though she were on a mission, and in many ways, she was. She knew that the Sith weren't going to sit around forever, that they would soon strike against the Republic with the Galactic Alliance no longer offering a threat; what she couldn't have seen, or perhaps she didn't truly care, was the formation of another Sith faction that would claim the core. Either way, the events that brought her here were more personal.

Dried leaves crunched beneath her feet as she stepped into the vast gardens. She had been here before, years ago, when she had first returned to the galaxy and sought guidance from an old friend, and now she had returned to scold that same woman. The last time she had been this close to her old friend was Eshan; though they had only been in the same room briefly, she was sure that the woman would feel that same absence now that she had felt then, just before a voice broke the silence.

"I see Death came for us both only to return to the Nether with empty hands."

The tone carried a tinge of sarcasm that sat atop underlying anger. It was the kind of tone that, had it been used on someone she hadn't known, would have been inappropriate. The Warden of Ferrix stood silently for a moment as her hands slowly reached up, grasping at the helm that adorned her head. Carefully, she removed it, silver locks cascading over her shoulders and down her back like a waterfall. As the helm was slowly lowered, those same golden-yellow hues fell upon the Sith Empire, a slight smirk pulling at the edge of her lips as a hint of her fangs was revealed.

While others would think the Supreme Commander of the Galactic Alliance was dead, she would at least finally reveal to her friend what she had likely known since that day on Eshan. Amelia von Sorenn was not dead; she was alive and well, at least, as alive and well as a member of her species could be.
