The Criminal Underworld. Where most people in the galaxy associated the underworld with scum and villany, Sularen viewed it as a haven for opportunities that could benefit the Imperialist cause. Despite the start contrast between the lawless and chaotic nature of the underworld and the authoritarian and ordered nature of Imperials, there was room for cooperation between both entities as Sularen had long recognized that the Underworld was something that could not be tamed directly by galactic governments no matter how hard they cracked down. You take out one crime syndicate and two more would take it's place, kill a crime boss and three more will replace him.

The rise of the Black Sun within the criminal underworld had created an golden opportunity for the Imperial Confederation to tap into the underworld and make use of some of the valuable services that would aid in the growth and expansion of the Confederation. Naturally, in order for the Confederation to gain access to such services it would have to turn a blind eye to certain Black Sun activities within it's own space, a decent compromise that saw both the Imperial Confederation and the Black Sun get what they wanted in the end. However in order for this deal to work, there needed to be a liaison that would ensure that neither side overstepped their boundaries when it came to this deal, someone with connections to both Imperialism and the Underworld.

This is what brought Sularen to Vlemoth Port. Recently, the Imperial Security Service had identified an individual of interest known as Bodan. From what records they could gather from him he was a former Grand Moff in the New Imperial Order and currently was operating as a Vigo within the Black Sun. This made him the ideal candidate who could serve as the bridge between the Imperials and the Underworld, ensuring that a careful balance between the interests of both factions would be maintained for the sake of mutual satisfaction.

Already an invitation had been sent to the ex-Imperial Vigo and now all the Supreme Commander needed to do was to wait for him to join him within an old abandoned factory within the outskirts of the city of Sanshur Flats where they could begin the final steps of solidifying the relationship between the Imperial Confederation and the Black Sun.

Small clouds of smoke began to billow out from underneath the access ramp.

Walking down the metal platform was an aging Imperial, one who had just as many wrinkles as he did war crimes. There was a small gaunt to his step, an indicator of the longness to his teeth. He had been around the galaxy and back many times - all in the pursuit of conquest and order. The abandoned factory in which his meeting took place sat quite a few yards away. A deep sigh was released from the man, a mixture of allure and exasperation. Summons from various galactic interests did not originate with this warlord. There had been many others seeking similar partnerships that the man was after. But Bodan assumed that this one would be the most profitable.

The man ducked his way into the building, four of his personal stormtroopers in tow, clad in white, red, and gold armor. In the distance Bodan could spot the fellow Imperial. For the reputation that he held, the Vigo assumed that they would be meeting in a private residence of the warlord. But there was a level of appreciation that he held for choosing a secretive place such as this. For that, there was a level of respect given. As the old man approached closer, a simple wave of his hand was given to his soldiers, indicating for them to stay back. There were not here for hostility, just merely as protection. The galaxy was no longer a safe place, after all.

Continuing his path, Bodan came with a few feet of the Imperial before stopping, extending a hand of greeting.

"Supreme Commander Sularen...a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

After a few minutes of waiting, Bodan finally showed up to the abandoned factory escorted by a small protection detail of four stormtroopers. Sularen was atleast glad that Bodan had been willing to meet him, as he had expected him to dismiss him entirely given his past position within the New Imperial Order. Although then again Bodan had been involved with the criminal underworld for a good time now and his current alignment with the Black Sun was a clear indicator that he did not hold on tightly to the past as most Imperials have. Nevertheless given Bodan's dual connections with Imperials and the Underworld, Sularen was just glad to be able to meet with him and engage in a proper conversation.

"The pleasure is all mine, Bodan." Sularen responded with a soft smile. "In fact, i'm a bit surprised that you were willing to meet me considering my past. Most of the Imperials that I've met who served under the New Imperial Order have largely held a fairly negative opinion of me due to my past with the Brotherhood of the Maw." the Supreme Commander added. "Regardless i do hope your trip to Vlemoth Port was pleasant, as i do look forward towards establishing a working partnership between us for the sake of mutual satisfaction of-course." Sularen added.

A light smirk was offered to the man as he noted his surprise.

It was true, most of the Imperials of times forgotten would not even dare step foot into the same room as Sularen, unless they were visiting him outside of a prison cell. The Brotherhood of the Maw and the New Imperial Order were never on good terms, some even claiming that the hostile relationship between the two entities led to conflicts arising with the Galactic Alliance. Though much time and credits of Bodan were used to fuel the conquest of security for the Empire, he recognized when the vision began to engulf people. That is why he built connections within the Underworld.

"We all have history that some would be less than enthusiastic to hear. As long as we agree to set it behind the both of us, then I believe we can move toward a profitable future."

Clasping his hands behind his back, Bodan made a slight head motion indicating 'walk with me,' so the two of them could discuss business in private away from his troopers, along with anyone else that may be listening.

"My journey here was uneventful, which is all one can ask for these days. It has been quite some time since I have been to this corner of the galaxy. Regardless, I do hope that a partnership can be created here today as well."

The Imperial Confederation taking interest in the galactic underground was something that Bodan had not expected. He did not let his surprise show. While the man had spent a long time building his reputation to where it was today, there were still goals that he wanted to accomplish within his lifetime. Restoring the New Imperial Order to its former glory would be a tedious task. Though a noble goal, Bodan knew he would be long dead before that occurred. Rather, he looked to obtain security once more on his homeworld and its surrounding systems. Bastion was currently occupied by The Diarchy; a government that the man had taken little interest in. Their foundation was that of the Sith, so they must be stopped. And yes, the man knew that Sularen was currently in cohorts with at least one Sith faction, and he would address that later. But for now, his one goal was the only thing in his sights.

"If I may inquire...what piqued your interest in the Underworld?"

It was nice to hear that Bodan was willing to throw the past beside and move towards a profitable future. These days it was rare to see an Imperial who was willing to set aside their differences and forget past allegiances and conflicts, in fact the only reason why the process of Imperial unification remained incomplete despite the formation of the Imperial Confederation was precisely because some prominent Imperials were so stuck with their backwards thinking that they were unwilling to work with other Imperials unless they precisely supported in their specific brand of Imperialism.

Regardless, what mattered now was that the ties between the Imperial Confederation and the Criminal Underworld needed to be strengthened and it was clearly apparent that Bodan would be in favor of supporting that goal. "I simply find the Underworld more agreeable to work with." Sularen responded plainly. "They provide unique services that could give us major advantages in distinct scenarios. Not to mention many of the big players in the galaxy often overlook or try to oppose the Underworld, throwing away what could help them achieve their goals." Sularen added.

"Naturally i am aware of the price that comes with working with the Underworld. Certain activities within Imperial space will have to be overlooked, provided they don't compromise the stability of the Confederation. Depending on the circumstances, the Imperial Armed Forces might even have to be utilized to help strongarm the more well established and well consolidated opponents of the Underworld. However as long as the exchange is mutually satisfactory for both sides and is flexible enough to overcome potential conflicts of interests, i have no issue working with the Underworld." the Supreme Commander proclaimed.
