Malcom had been planning this attack for a few weeks now. Jagga-ll represented a munitions supply world. Though not important in way of rare resources, with it, his people would be better able to supply their warships and fighters with heavy munitions for their conquest of the stars. The plan itself was fairly simple in nature. An infiltration team was sent in days before the attack was to take place. Their sole job was to slice into the defense grid protecting the planet. They were to shut down weapon platforms, communications, sensor arrays, anything and everything the enemy could use against the landing force that was tied in to the grid.

In orbit waiting patiently and silently in their Mandalorian stealth ships, would sit the entire invading force of his people. Just waiting for the green light to descend upon another world and do what they did best. After presenting the idea to his superiors, he was elated when his plan had been given the go ahead. Wasting no time in putting the plan in motion, supply requests were dispatched, and the necessary ships for the job diverted to where they were needed.

The weeks flew by as they rallied support among the many clans that formed the Mandalorian people as a whole. But now was the day. Malcom stood next to a transparasteel viewport looking out over the world they were about to ravage. Pushing a few buttons on his comm link, he sent the confirmation code for the infiltration team to begin bringing down the security network. With the message away, he muttered quietly to himself. "Cry havoc. And let slip the dogs of war."

Turning quickly on his heal, he faced the veteran warriors in front of him. "Ok vode. Listen up! Once we get the green light from our infiltration team, our first objective will be the communications array and command central at the base. With those two areas in our pocket, the planet defenses should be mostly paralyzed even if they do manage to come back online. Our people on the ground should be able to knock off the enemy sensors just long enough for us to slip in undetected and start the mayhem."

"Once those are secured, we'll move on the munitions depot located not too far away just on the north side of the base. This will cut off the enemy resupply. Final objective will be to simply clear out the base in general before we make our push to the factories. We'll be making landfall at 0200 local time. So thermal imaging or whatever nightvision equipment you have will be your best friend. If this works, we'll be catching most of the base napping. Are there any questions?" He finished standing up straight and waiting for any hands.

Her team had been on Jagga II for a few days now, and it had paid off. The world sat right on the edge of One Sith and Primeval territory. As such, trying to bring the world into the Mandalorian sphere of influence proved a calculated risk. One apparently the Mandalorians were willing to take. Anija was well-acquainted with such tactics, though they weren't her preferred method, by far. That thought aside, they were here now. Her and her team had spent the last several days haking into the Jagga II defense grid.

It wasn't an easy task by any means, and well... when you got right down to it, Anija wasn't the best slicer around, though she was quite good. Shaking her head at the rather self-deprecating thoughts, Anija turned back to the small glowing screen in front of her. Her and her team had holed up in a rather.... upscale hotel, and were playing the part of some rich tourists. It worked well as a cover for what they were really up to. Her small team had turned their hotel room into a sort of mobile command center. small protable computers and screens litered a grouping of tables in the center of the room, and each member of her team was working away.

Over the last couple days, they had managed to hack into the defense network, and it had been a job and half, The layers of encryption on the system were a bit mind-boggling. But then, she supposed they were supposed to be to discourage just what they were doing. Now, they had their own back door into the system. All they needed now was the other team, and the signal to kill the defense measures. Which, came quickly enough. A coded message came across her HUD, and Anija took a few moments to read it before she tapped out a few commands. "Alright, boys and girls. It's show time. Let's bring down the walls for them..." A few more keystrokes, and Anija activated the program which would kill the planetary shields, followed quickly after that by the planetary defense installations going silent.

A fancy, upscale hotel, packed with small portable computers, screens and the latest in slicing equipment. Small infiltration team, clear mission: Shut down the planetary defence grid and cause all sorts of havoc to mess with enemy command and control in order to facilitate planetary invasion.

All of this was a very familiar setting for Sumiko, though so much had changed. She no longer wore the robes of an Atrisian Inquisitor and no longer had a restraining device implanted in her spine that at the push of a button could paralyse her or induce extreme pain. No, she was here as an independent contractor.

Anija was running the programme that would eat the planetary shields for breakfast and then put the defence grid to sleep. Meanwhile, Sumiko likewise had her face planted in front of a computer screen, for she was working on a different angle to the same end: Paralysing enemy command and control by mucking with communications. An army that was blind, confused and flooded with disinformation was unable to identify threats clearly and respond to them efficiently.

Fortunately by now they had become very familiar with the defence network. Some mentalism had come in handy as well when it came to making certain officers willing to provide information. Fingers danced over the keyboard as she ran the programme, but she was not only using conventional slicing, but technopathy and mechu-deru. In other words, space magic handwavium. Some skilled in this area could bend entire legions of droids and such to their will. Something Sumiko could not do, but she could use it for slicing quite efficiently.

The enemy communications array and central command would be overwhelmned by the flood of false messages, alerts and so on, ranging from reports about disturbances and unrest in certain districts, supposed terrorist attacks and even a plausible sounding message about a One Sith attack that was already landing...conveniently not on the side of the planet where the Mandalorians intended to land. After all, the Sith were right next door, so it would sound logical for the natives. Using plausible sounding codes troop units would be directed to certain areas, not knowing that they were being diverted for a reason. Efficient communication would become impossible as the flood simply overwhelmned the command centre. Then it would break down.

Rawnie had no reservations about going on this mission. Whatever issues she'd had with [member="Malcom Renolds"] , she'd worked through. There were no more hard feelings, no more anger. They may not have rekindled their childhood friendship yet, but she was confident that they would both work together again. And with her husband-to-be, Lorane at her side, it helped to keep everything on track. She listened to Mal talk, explain the mission, while her hand went to grab that of [member="Doctor Azure"]. Night vision. Her helmet had a night vision filter built in. It would be helpful here, but she had no idea what her fiance had brought with him. She might need to keep an eye out for him, to ensure his survival until their wedding night. They were going to have children if it literally killed her.

The call came for questions, and Rawnie looked around. She had none. The mission was a simple enough one. Get into communications and command, take it, then cut off resupply, then-

Slaughter.

The word came to her mind before she could even stop it. She felt her stomach heave. She had to let go of Loranes hand to put a hand over her mouth. The very idea of the carnage ahead made her feel so nauseous. Why? Sure, her first experience with war had left a bad taste in her mouth, so to speak, but that was hardly a reason to freak out now. She'd been just fine since then. So why now?
She swallowed hard, forcing the bile back down. No time to chicken out. No backing down. She was a warrior. Blood was nothing new to her. She was the best hunter in her village, the best killer. She touched her sniper rifle on her back, gripped her helmet tight. She'd checked her weapons again, her ammo, her first aid pack and her rations. She was ready. She just needed to calm her stomach. Probably just nerves. Everybody got the pre-battle jitters, and if they said they didn't, well, then they were a liar.

As Malcolm explained the mission Kenna kept her arms crossed against her chest. It seemed as if he had a plan as to what they would be doing when they got planet side. It was always good to have an open outline of the mission. Kenna knew by now that nothing ever went as planned and they had to be ready for anything. Most of the questions Kenna had didn't revolve around the mission and would have to wait till later. "How many guards should we expect surrounding the base?"

Kenna was antsy to get this mission started. The only one on the team she trusted was Malcolm and the others she didn't know very well. She knew one was her fiancé's ex lover so that just made things even more awkward and interesting. Strider was the veteran of the group and even though Kenna didn't know him well she trusted that he would have the full teams back.

Lorane hugged Rawnie, smiling at her as comfortingly as he could. He knew the whole idea of the fish-in-a-barrel approach bothered her. Still, it was nothing like Muunilist. The resistance they'd be fighting here was prepared. But so was the Chiss, this time. He had beskar armor on, and another layer of beskar weave in his jacket. His guns were all ready to go.
What worried him a bit more was the makeup of the team he was on. Who the hell put him and Rawnie in the same group as Malcom's fiance? And who the hell had thought it was a good idea to put Strider anywhere near anybody they hoped to marry? Not that he didn't like the guy well enough, but jeez. As for the Miles guy, he was a legend. Like, the doc wanted his autograph kind of legend. Who cared about an old trigger-happy fart when there was the freaking pirate king?
All this was going through his head, but he managed to hug Rawnie instead of jumping up and down like an excited kid.

Kourin stretched his neck as he heard the command from Malcom, and then Anija, nodding a bit and grinning. In the time they had been working from the hotel, he had proven to be rather skilled in both slicing, and sneaking when it was needed. This was all things he was used to, it was an average Monday, ignoring the scale of the operation. It was all terribly exciting, and he was good at it. Despite his appearance he proved to be good at what they were doing, though he had a habit of getting too excited.

He was also simply good at just blending in with crowds. Despite being on close inspection not as young as he looked, he just had a young appearance that made it easy to disregard him as some kid or 'street rat'. It made him moving about anywhere rather easy, and not particularly suspected. Though it was still quite possible he had a few close call's, he was able to run and escape, or hide. 'Rat', was indeed a name that fit him quite well.

Currently however, he was focused solely on the task at hand, running through and slicing into their systems that they had painfully and slowly built up a backdoor into, which was now proving to pay out. As one of them shut down their defenses, the other attacking and flooding their communications, he worked on other simpler areas then the other two. The current location of their troops, hidden bunkers, off-grid defense sites, anything of the sort that could give the Mandalorians a nasty surprise, and he would monitor their status where possible. Though most likely by now they had already found anything hidden, it was always possible a spike in activity could reveal something they didn't see before. And he liked checking his bases.

Though he would prove to not be as experienced as the other slicers, he proved to have a good deal of simple latent talent in the area, even if his experience was in much smaller operations, he was adapting well enough.

Shae wasn't nearly as good at slicing as she was at other things. She knew how to handle a dataspike, among a few other things, but her task here was less about the slicing and more about keeping Kourin safe. Sumiko and Anija could take care of themselves, but Shae worried about her 'puppy' and wasn't about to let him get into a dangerous situation alone. Not that he was really alone, but she felt better keeping an eye on him herself. And while the slicing stuff may not have been her strong suit, the sneaky sneaky infiltration stuff had been right up her alley. Even with her distinct features, she knew how to blend into a crowd and virtually disappear.

For the moment, Shae felt rather useless while the slicers did their thing, though she was currently monitoring comm chatter for the local security, making sure that none had grown wise to the intrusion. Thankfully, the locals remained blissfully unaware of what the Mandos were doing. So far so good...

Malcom caught Rawnie's expression from the corner of his eye but didn't say anything. Only a slight frown would appear behind his helmet as he wondered what that was about. He turned away to look at everyone else when the doc hugged her. Whatever it was that was bothering her, she was at least being taken care of he supposed. One hell of a time to start falling to pieces though. He prayed that wasn't the case.

When Kenna inquired about the strength of the resistance they'd be up against, he responded quickly. "Intel says we should only have around 5000 troops and their support personnel in total at this particular base. And again, most of them should be fast asleep at the time of our assault. The infiltration team will keep the rest of the defenses and planetary troops in the outposts distracted and shooting at one another while we get our foothold here. By the time they figure out what is going on, they'll be depleted in numbers, tired, and completely clueless as to what is actually happening. Easy pickings for us."

A beep on his datapad signaled the infiltration team had completed their task. Or at least enough to give the landing a green light.

"Ok vode. If there are no more questions, lock and load. We have just gotten the green light from our infiltration team. Time to knock down the doors and bring this planet into the Mandalorian fold. ETA to landing 5 minutes!"

With that, Malcom headed toward the loading ramp where the team along with all the rest of the Mandalorian warriors would pour out like a flood onto the unsuspecting people of Jagga-ll. Out in the void of space, the silence and complete and utter calm was suddenly disturbed by the faintest shimmer of objects in space now on the move toward the planets surface. Within the next few minutes, hell would break out across the surface as the people of Mandalore sought to lay claim on another world.

* * * * * * *
Back at the ranch...er... the upscale fancy hotel the ladies of the infiltration team deemed was the most appropriate use of funds, things were not going nearly as well as planned. The systems had indeed begun to falter and then fail as their programs quickly took them over one by one. As the ships of the Mandalorian armada descended, the slicers would get warning messages start to pop up. Someone was in the system trying to figure out what was going on!

Before the team could react, one of the anti air turrets at the base the army was heading to came back online and began scanning the early morning skies for trouble. The infiltrators needed to work fast to put a lid on whoever it was countering their slicing attempts quick before the landing party was discovered.

Loraned hug didn't help. Her nausea swept through her like a wave across the sand. Then it was over and she felt.... normal? She took a deep breath, hand at her hip, fingers running up and down the polished uxi horn that made up the handle of her favorite knife. She followed the rest of the team, breathing slowly and carefully to calm herself. Why? Why did she feel sick all of a sudden? Nerves? Just nerves? Pathetic, but not unheard of. Right. She needed to get a grip.

She was so focused on not throwing up that she hadn't bothered to notice who was on their team until just now. [member="Strider Garon"], good. He was old, but he got old by being a good warrior. And- she caught Lorane looking almost... longingly? At [member="Aedan Miles"]? Did he have a crush? Rawnie raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. She wouldn't be surprised. Most of her clan seemed to identity as pansexual. There was nothing strange about a same gender attraction. She was used to it. As long as this crush of his didn't go any further.

And then there was...
Her gaze drifted right over [member="Kenna Raine"] , but her brain didn't really register her as, well, anything. Not out of any sense of malice. Rawnie just didn't feel threatened by her former lovers fiance. There we no romantic feelings towards [member="Malcom Renolds"] anymore. She considered him a comrade, someone she knew she worked very well together with. They made a great team on the battle field, but that was it. Childhood friends. That love of their past friendship would always remain, a tiny spark would always burn, but the romance had flickered out.

Although Rawnie did have to admit, his girl had great hair. For the sake of her old friends happiness, she hoped that she wasn't just a pretty face, or this battle would fall apart quick.

"Lor'ika," she murmured, quiet enough that only he could hear, "Something's wrong. I still don't feel well. I need you to watch my six."

Just in case.

"I will kick you in the teeth." There was a look that crossed her eyes as Basaba glared at the one tightening the shockwave generator on her arm with the cortosis knuckler in her her hand. The rest she was working on herself while in orbit of the planet and letting the new upgrades on the armor show. Smaller and stronger boosters with a gravitational leveler she could use for getting into better positions. Her horak rifle and field pistol were all holstered and ready before she was moving about with the specialized armor. "Now lets get down there and kill things, I'm itching for a fight."

Shae frowned as she heard something unusual on the comm frequencies. Almost like a blip, or maybe static? As she was analyzing the sound, she heard one of the mainframe security guards mention a shift change. Hadn't they just had a shift change like 15 minutes ago? Shae's eyes widened with the realization that she was actually listening to a recording. Oh, they were so humped!

"Poodoo," she blurted out as she ripped the headset off her head. "They're onto us," she informed the others, though she had the sneaking suspicion that they knew already as their terminals all lit up with warnings. Could this job go anymore sideways?

Aedan leaned back his helmet off as he closed his eyes listening to the briefing and nodding occasionally the datapad built into his helmet taking notes as its mic picked up key points. After awhile he opened his eyes looking around calmly he was taking a short break from pirating to do some jobs with the Mando'ade. Pirating was almost a hobby to him not like he needed the money he had enough stored up for awhile. He looked over the group with them going from one person to the other assessing their strengths. He already knew Strider's strengths and was glad he was on the same squad as that fossil of a man. Looking towards the others he shrugged he didn't know any of them and would have to keep his eyes out for any weaknesses that they needed covered. Reaching down to his belt he pulled his sabers off testing their weight before turning them on to test them nodding appeased he turned them off returning them to his belt. He started to check the rifle he carried a very nice anti-material rifle that he had been using for a few years now and had modified it a bit. Sure that he was ready he leaned back again waiting for the next word on what their next move was hopefully it was flashy he always preferred flashy moves.

Kourin kept up his end of the work on the smaller things and in general monitoring as the other two did the main shutting down, silent as he worked, humming slightly. At least, he was until he saw someone poking around. They were in the system fast, and it seemed they had gotten one of the air defense turrets online as well, Kourin letting out a short curse. Time to think fast. He went over all the info he had been through so farm Sumiko's false leads, Anija's attacks on their comm systems... He figured that Anija would be busy with keeping everything shut down most likely, and Sumiko seemed rather focused at the moment herself. And then an idea clicked in his head.

Switching the monitoring to the back burner, he started to do a little trick. Taking out a computer spike, he plugged it in, taking a moment to find a good channel. Finding a good remote base, Kourin sent the garbage info through the base, and then right at the enemy slicer. It wouldn't solve the problem, but it would give him a false lead, Kourin pulling out the spent spike and dropping it, getting another ready. He only had this one last one left, and he was saving it. He had used a good deal of his already so far, and hadn't had time to make more.

"I fed the slicer some false information, attacked him from somewhere else to distract him. Cyberwarfare isn't my strong suit, so i will need some help here." He said in a serious, though boyishly excited voice, checking the additional feed. And then his jaw dropped as he saw a defense turret online. "Spasting hell!" He swore, going in and 'backpacking' on Anija's program.

Kourin knew he probably couldn't shut it down in time. He also knew there was a lot automated on such things, and he had more or less full access to look at it and pick a good target. And pick a good target he did, using her program he worked his way into the anti-air defense turret's systems. However he didn't go to shut it off. Rather, he messed with its targeting systems. He didn't shut them down, rather he threw a bunch of garbage data in, as well as twisting how it processed numbers. This meant it would both work slightly slower in targeting, but could be close to random in what it shot, as the number processing was completely skewed if Kourin pulled it off. 0's became 1's, 4's to 90's, all in what would initially be a completely baffling pattern. This would be particularly effective since it was an auto turret. While it didn't solve the issue, it was doubtful it would shoot any Mandalorian ships in any meaningful way any time soon.

That is assume he got into it like he wanted, which since he wasn't aiming to shut it down but rather modify it, was more possible. Easier by far to alter something there then to make it completely stop, and with the enemy slicer probably dealing with some slowdown from his attack earlier, he figured this was his best option.

Well above the planets surface, the landing craft began to shutter the second they hit atmo. Malcom cocked his rifle as he prepared mentally for the fight that was about to take place. This time, he would be a bit more cautious in his approach of the enemy. His fool hardy advance before had nearly gotten him killed. Still, in the end he made it out alive with only a small scar to remember the tale by. If anything, scars were fun. Reminders of good battles of the past.

Keeping his focus on the present though, he cast a glance to make sure Kenna was still there. This was going to be the first time in a good long while the team had been split up when going into battle. The captain at least wanted to make sure she was by his side. "Ready or not, eh?" He said with a smirk when he saw her.

Back on the ground, and for the time being, the security techs were stalled as they tried to sift through all the garbage data that has suddenly been hurled their way. What systems had been recovered had not gone back offline, so they didn't worry anymore than they already had been. In their haste to recover the rest of the network, they didn't notice that even though the auto turret had been restored, it had become inaccurate to the point of worthlessness. While they weren't jumping on fixing the turret, the junk data sent to them was being worked through quickly. The infiltration team would have to stay on their toes and think fast to keep the homes forces from gaining any further ground.

The tension in the air was thick enough to practically be able to be cut with a knife. Would their slicers on the ground be able to keep the security defenses offline long enough for them to land? Or would the entire base be on full alert by the time they arrived? These and many more questions were probably floating through many of the warriors minds at the moment. At the base, the techs on hand grew worried enough that they sent look outs with electrobinoculars to keep an eye on the sky. If they saw something, they had orders to sound the alarm manually.

The minutes ticked by, and slowly but surely the landing craft made their way past the different defenses that had been set up. Their stygium cloaking devices doing their job well. And with the network for the moment still crippled, there was no chance of detection till the last moment.

That moment had finally arrived. With cloaks deactivating, loading ramps quickly opened up to reveal to the stunned lookouts the site of thousands of highly trained warriors about to kick in their front door.

"MANDOS! LET'S GO! GO! GO!" For the first time in his life, Malcom led the charge of a full Mandalorian assault. Not bothering to wait for the ship to make it to the ground, he lept off the loading ramp, only activating his jet pack at the last second to make his landing. The yelling from across the way caught his attention in time for him to see a couple of the look outs sprinting full speed back inside to the command center. Raising his rifle at the duo, he took in a deep breath and then held it. 'CRACK'! Came the report of his rifle as a heavy round slammed into the lead runner just before he could get in through the door.

"First blood goes to us!" He declared to himself, simply elated to be the first off the boat for once.

Across the field the anti air defense gun activated when the ships decloaked. But with Kourin's trick playing havoc with its targeting systems, it's blaster fire rang out in every direction but where it was needed. Proving to be all but completely useless to the defenders. Inside the command and communications center, the alarm was triggered manually, but nothing happened. They had not yet managed to get those systems back online. The clock was ticking though. And with that turret making so much racket as well, it was only a matter of moments before the entire base was alerted to their presence.

Jarell stands in the ship loading his pouches on his belt with tear gas, thermal detonators, then checks all his gauntlet gadgets and made sure his wrist blades sprung out with no issues. Then he checked his westar blaster Pistols were loaded and ready to go before holstering then in his leg holsters, then Jarell grabbed the E-11 rifle from his back holster made sure it was loaded before holstering that two. He then felt for the two Beskad hilts on his back making sure his swords were secured between his jetpack and his back. Jarell then finally checked his primary weapon, his EE-3 Carbine Blaster Rifle. He then looked up at Malcom as his HUD and scanners were running and doing a systems check. When the loading ramp opened and Malcom jumped before they landed Jarell joined in and jumped out using his jet pack as well to land.

Jarell watched Malcom crack the lead runner in the face killing him. Jarell then noticed one about to shoot Malcom in the back but Jarell was quick with his rifle and shot the runner in the face saving Malcom.

Jarell runs up and catches up to Malcom joining him.

Always. Lor meant it. If he had to use the dirtiest tricks he knew, he'd use them to keep his loved ones alive. And Rawnie was first among those loved ones. As the dropship opened up, he quickly squeezed her hand and then drew one of his pistols. Malcom and another man went running towards the enemy without a second thought.
"Alright, let's go."

If the Mandalorian's were anything it wasn't stealthy or quiet. They came in like a herd of buffalo most of the time. Now even though everyone was sleeping the same was true. The base would be alerted to their presence in a matter of seconds due to this.

Kenna herself possessed the ability to be quieter than the rest of that group. It was probably due to her not being brought up like the rest of the team. Each she felt had it's positives and its negatives. She was here to fight along side them and show yet again she was worthy. Kenna was a fighter.

She had been alone since she was eight. A family was something that she had lost long ago. It was as such rather comforting to have someone here beside her. She wanted more than anything to fit in with the others and be apart of the family. The family she would soon be marrying into.

"I'm sure all the guards are rubbing their eyes right now. I should get over to their quarters and take them out before they rub the sleep out of their eyes." She kinda liked explosives and Kenna had a little surprise for them. Since she couldn't sneak in earlier this could work.

The only reason Kenna was telling Malcolm was so that he could come if he really wanted to. He liked her by his side and if what she was thinking wasn't part of the plan she wouldn't go.

"Oya!"

Let's hunt!

Malcom had never been subtle. Not even close. She remembered a time when they were kids hunting in the woods. Rawnie had the advantage in the freezing norther forests. With her furs on, she'd blended in with the snow like magic. She used this. Taught her to be silent as death itself. But he? When he saw a target, he just went for it. She remembered one time she'd been tracking this beast for a mile when they finally came upon it. She already raised her bow, pulled back the arrow-

But that was many years ago.

Her fiance grabbed her hand, squeezed it, then let go. She knew what she was best at. She could run in there head first and get shot a whole bunch like this bunch, or she could use her sniping skills. She ran along with them for now, only hanging slightly back to get a better view. She raised her rifle with scarily steady hands. Watched an enemy raise his weapon, taking aim at the woman with the pretty hair. Rawnie put him down without a second thought. Her face was set in grim determination, her hands were steady, even with the adrenaline coursing through her veins. Her earlier illness had been forgotten for the moment.

Another shot was fired, then another. She prided herself in her accuracy. She managed to trick her mind, tell herself this was simply a hunting trip. The scent of blood was that from an uxi, not a person. Why did she smell the blood so clearly?

Aedan walked after them calmly his rifle coming up as he took aim at three men standing nearby dropping two of them and wounding the third as he gestured two men from his clan darting forward to secure his hands and drag him into the drop ship as a prisoner. Aedan tossed his rifle behind him to another member of his clan who caught it lifting it to his shoulder and firing ahead of them as Aedan drew his lightsabers igniting the bright orange blades spinning them lightly. As he started to stride forward slowly before he started to jog the lightsabers trailing behind him as he darted around men leaping forward now almost sprinting as he drew upon the force to fuel his speed his dark eyes gleaming with blood lust under his helmet as he dove forward putting himself into a spin as he lashed out with his lightsabers a dark smirk crossing his face as he started his deadly dance.
