Deal of the Century (Warren Century)

Bhaltair Dhimani

Bhaltair sat in his office and did one last once over of the company profile in his hands. The report detailed the mission goal and purposes of C.T.A.E. The most intriguing and useful service Bhaltair could see to get out of CTAE was its expertise in developing prototypes and mass producing computer systems and weapons. If CI wanted to rachet up productivity, they would need help from a company that was already familiar with the process of mass production and creating new designs in a business timely manner.

*pleep* "Dr. Dhimani? Your appointment is here to see you, now."

"Thank you, Sylvia. Please, send him in."

He set down the report, sat up in his seat and stared intently at the door.

Warren entered the building, having been told someone had wanted to meet with him. At first he had been...reluctant to even leave the area on Tatooine he'd been at. For he'd been there drawing up designs for a potential place for himself to live, and work. It was going to be more than that eventually, but for now that was all that he needed to focus on about Tatooine. Climbing flights of stairs instead of using the Repulsor Lift in order to stay in shape, it was about fifteen minutes before Warren entered.

"I'm told there was something you wanted to discus..."

Bhaltair got up and walked around his desk to greet the man. With his hand extended to shake, he said to [member="Warren Century"],

"Thank you for coming, Mr. Century. It's a pleasure. Please, have a seat."

With the pleasantries out of the way, Bhaltair resumed sitting in his office chair.

"You see, Mr. Century, I am a man of many modes, here on top of my sand castle. I'm a humanitarian, giving all the people a second chance at a normal life. I'm an arms dealer for governments and militaries. I make sure that civilians only get the utility essentials that they need to keep living life unimpeded and I give the good guys the chance to do their job better than ever. I'm a good guy, if business can ever have good guys, and I believe that you're a good guy, too. People like you and I want to make sure that the good guys get the good stuff and that the bad guys get the short end of the stick."

"So, let's get down to it. The way I see it, you've got the production facilities to pump out record numbers and we've got the most advanced team of scientists and lab technology this side of the galaxy to cook up and successfully deliver top of the line, new prototype technology. The way I see it, if we work together, we can rock the economy with our wares from two sides of the galaxy and make up for each other's weaknesses in the process. By now, you know I'm interested in working with you. I'd like to arrange a nice, beneficial relationship between us. Question is, are you interested in working with us?"

Warren considered it. Working with the guy did have it's advantages. But how had the guy known to seek him out? It was somewhat of a mystery, and that annoyed Warren. Unraveling mysteries was something he could do when he had more time. "We could work together, yes. I see a bright business opportunity in our future. Also, on behalf of the Collective which is a group of scientists and Corporations banded together to push the tech level of the Galaxy to new heights, I'd like to offer you membership. It would allow you to have not one, but two companies working with you. So what do you say? Would such a thing appeal to you?"

Blame it on his fresh faced perspective on entrepreneurship. Blame it on his subconscious desire to advance and prove to his brother, eventually, once and for all, that he was and always had been the better son. Was he making a deal with a kindred company or was he about to shake hands with the Devil? Bhaltair didn't know and he wasn't concerned. The only thoughts on his mind were that of sealing the deal. He tilted his head and his eyes instinctively narrowed at the mention of The Collective. His reaction was one purely out of curiosity, rather than suspicion, but it could have been misconstrued as suspicion.

"That does, indeed, sound desirable, but I cannot join a mysterious group solely off of the words of a single mission statement. I shall need information on what I would be getting into, especially since I have never held previous knowledge about such an organization. However, back onto the topic of immediate business dealing between our two companies, my statement of desire for forging a business deal with you is as follows: To hire you out to fulfill production requisitions and to coordinate prototype R&D. The nitty gritty money and logistic details can be worked out later. Now, what exactly would your statement of desire be for my company? The same thing or did you have any other ideas in mind?"

[member="Warren Century"]

"Same desire with one alteration..." He'd take off an arm-bracer and put it on the table. "Your company is going to mass produce this and start selling it to Force User groups. This is the CTAE Energy Shield V1. The shield is something I developed. Given that the abilities of Lightsabers cannot be blocked as easily without the aid of expensive materials, I was obliged to come up with a cheaper alternative. This could also be useful as a melee weapon by bashing it into an opponent's face. The shield is something I developed to protect against most weapons. It's still a work in progress, even if I do have a prototype of the shield completed now. So what do you think of it?"

Warren paused for a moment, and said. "So yes, your deal will work for both of us. Hopefully you'll like what you see about the Collective..."

"I must warn you, I do not currently have the resources ready to purchase and use in the production of your shield. However, given that it's currently in prototype, I'm sure we'll have plenty of opportunities to establish the necessary connections before we have to worry about starting production on the lines. Once the production of the official product get going, our scientists can take a look at the plans and machinery and start working up possible plans for a future Mark 2."

He stood up from his seat and leaned forward to shake Century's hand once more.

"I think that this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. I can't wait to see what this Collective is all about."

Warren nodded and shook his hand. "And I can't wait to have you on board. The more companies that join us, the more we can push the boundaries of science, bringing about new science that no one else in the galaxy has ever seen!" Warren then picked up the shield and strapped it back to his arm. He'd say to the one he had been with. "I must be on my way. There's a lot I've got to get done today as Tomorrow is a leisure day on which I don't do much work. Of course, now that I think about it Leisure Days unfortunately must be canceled..." He said with a sigh. "With all the work I have to do..."
