With the amount of allies dwindling for the New Imperial Orders for the foreseeable future, so does its trade partners. COMPNOR, on the search for a variance in the cashflow that they can acquire, backed a Project known as Wonderland, where multiple well known and lesser known spices were experimented with in varying combinations to draw out the sought after goal: A drug that produced a euphoric high with enough benefits for the common, everyday worker, to consider it a boon to their life rather than a detriment. To put it simply, COMPNOR sought controversy, and they had it with Project: Wonderland.
Affectionately named DEAF for the profound loss of the hearing sense, in most documented cases, the loss of hearing was temporary, and unnoticed. Targeted users believed they were still hearing the things that they saw, their brain likely playing tricks of former memories piecing together the sound. Events that happened outside of their line of sight went unnoticed, and unfamiliar sights (things that would otherwise alert someone that one of their senses is dead) were unable to cut through the pleasant dopamine boost that made them forget their worries.
Often times, users felt heroic on account of their mind and body being tricked into feeling stronger, more times than not putting themselves at a greater risk without even recognizing it.
