Dead Directive

The Chiloon Rift Command Outpost
In the perspective of the Directory

This was not good. The Warlord was last reported on Korriban on religious duties with its Jawa apprentice and... lover. The Thorn had un-docked and left the system for over a week now... and still Captain Slika had failed to make contact with the rest of the Directory. Following the rebel raid several weeks ago, the introduction of the Time Rift-Class Star Destroyer in Thetsh's Armada rebelling said raid's sabotage efforts with ease, and the rumbling uncertainty the fell over wild space with a haze near former Mandalorian territory... the Warlord going missing at an hour like this was a critical situation. The situation was so critical, it was deemed necessary to conference... in person.

Thus far, such a situation has been unprecedented. Members of the Directory have always been separated by space and interact only through holo-transmissions and encrypted messages. Yet with this sort of destabilizing situation with an absent Warlord, they could not even trust those as being safe enough. The only way to effectively transmit information to each other without prying ears, was to do personally in private. This presented a possible liability however, in that the Directory could be effectively destroyed in one blow if any ever found out about this specific conference. So, they had to proceed with caution.

"I think it's clear, Admiral Thetsh, that this whole operation was a farce from the beginning. Entrusting our image in some blood thirsty Hutt without a conscious or a differentiating mechanism between friendly and foe? Who here is honestly surprised the Warlord has gone rogue and killed Captain Slika?" Vice-Admiral Jok'u spout vehemently with emotion.

"I think you are pushing too far with your assumptions Jok'u, the Warlord has proven extremely pliable yet the Captain has demonstrated signs of rebellion when it comes to Thetsh's command. Who's to say it isn't Slika who's gone rogue?" Commodore Vun smartly interjected.

"You're both in the paranoid assumption that either have gone rogue. There is the possibility something beyond our control has prevented their communication to us. I caution us to wait a little longer." Rear Admiral Weab attempted to calm the situation.

"And let the Mandalorians take a snap at us like the Rebels? I don't think so. We need to act now!"

"Oh yes, ramming directly into the Mandalorians head first without a modicum of strategy always works. All those men on Wayland can attest to that."

The argument went on, but the Admiral was noticeably silent. His eyes down cast as he tried to calculate and weigh everything being brought up. It all seemed rather silly, that they were all trying to figure out what to do about a missing member and their most valuable asset. At least, symbolically most valuable. In the long run the Warlord could be easily replaceable with enough fabrication. It was just going to be difficult finding someone that could match the infamous Zambrano's brutal reputation and visage of insanity. Though arguably, it might all be unnecessary to begin with as Jok'u suggested. They could become a traditional fleet with Thetsh acting as the official Warlord of the Rift. It just seemed awkward that the Warlord would not be present for a meeting he set up with a Trade Conglomerate for the creation of a new massive facility that would penetrated the fabled "Bubble of the Lost", for research purposes.

------------
Meanwhile, the dead of space, the Warlord being discussed hid within the gaseous debris of the Chiloon system... totally alone within his ship like a sleeping terror. Occult and arcane artifacts of human and alien flesh hung from the walls and ceiling.

Surrounding his ship however, was a band of followers who sought the Unseen Rift as he did... the Seekers of the Rift. Warlord Zambrano may have Subjugated the System, but that did not mean the Black Prophet had exhorted his dominion yet. There would also be pirates and other stragglers to be dealt with, but mostly today was about cleaning house and further everyone's goals for the future without hindrance...

... And more than a few assassination attempts.
