(De)pressing matters

Gherron sat by a lake overlooking the sunset of Naboo, wrestling with himself. He'd been going out of his mind lately, and he hated it. It was only a matter of time before the next fit began, and he figured that coming somewhere peaceful like Naboo would probably be his best chance at preventing it. He knew it was inevitable however. The wound would continue to affect him, the poison within running strong. He hadn't shaven in days, and his normal stubble was beginning to look ragged. He didn't risk looking at his chest, but he knew it was getting worse. Normally, he would have told someone about it long before it got this bad, but something deep within him prevented him from doing so. The problem would only get worse. Sighing softly, he looked down at the water, utterly depressed. Whether it was the poison affecting his emotions again, or it was just himself, he didn't know, but the fact was that he had just then fallen into a deep depression of sadness. Maybe he could get a drink somewhere... Wait, he didn't drink. Well, there was a first for everything...

Skylar was going on one last hike before she left Naboo for Correllia and saw the Jedi Knight that had taught her to swim sitting by the lake where they had first met looking very troubled. She decided to walk over and see what was the matter, approaching not so silently so he wouldn't pull his glow stick on her.

"Hello, Master Gherron, what troubles you?"

She sat down beside him, concern written all over her face in neon lights.

As Gherron threw a stone across the lake, he heard a small voice behind him, then looked as the source of it sat down beside him. Ah, the swimming prodigy. He remembered vaguely how he'd taught the girl to swim on his last visit to Naboo. Wait, why vaguely? Of course, the poison affected memory too. It seemed as if the main purpose of the toxin inside of him was built to attack his head; messing with his emotions, affecting his memory, and so on. The strangest thing was his emotions. One day, he was anger prone. The next, paranoid and delusional. There seemed to be no real pattern to it, just random sets of emotions attacking him daily. How long he could go before it drove him mad, he didn't know. But of course, there he was, thinking the entire time and zoned out, while he'd completely forgotten the girl that sat next to him. "Oh I'm sorry, what did you say?" As he turned to her, she would notice that his eyes were bloodshot. He hadn't slept in days, anyway. How could someone, when their mind was such a wreck?

Skylar's worry increased when she saw his bloodshot eyes. "What troubles you, my friend? What could cause you to be in such a state?" She looked at him up and down as if analyzing him for cuts and bruises. What had caused this Knight to not be able to sleep? Had he seen someone die in a horrific way? Had he had a very troubling vision? She hid her questions with her concern and felt his head for a fever, finding a small one.
