Intent: To create a new textile that can be used in future submissions
Development Thread: If needed
Manufacturer: Daehan Industries
Model: DC07
Affiliation: Closed-market
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Duracrete, canvas fiber, fiber matrix, PVC

Strengths:
· Easy to use, portable rolls
· Water proof PVC backing provides extra protection from the elements
· The fiber reinforcement prevents cracking, and can absorb energy from minor impacts
· The material is very durable, will not degrade when exposed to UV, fire resistant
· This canvas is flexible and is easily draped

Weaknesses:
· Requires access to water (saline or non-saline water)
· Product will lose performance once sealed package is opened, use within 48 hours
· If product is not saturated properly, it made reduce strength

Description:
Daehan Industries wanted to create a versatile textile that could be used for a variety of applications, and developed a unique design that incorporates fiber that has been infused with quick setting Duracrete powder. The textile is composed of three distinct layers - a fibrous canvas top sheet, 3D fiber matrix infused with Duracrete, and a waterproof PVC backing. The canvas fabric can be draped, saturated with water, and then set to create a strong and durable surface. As the Duracrete sets, the fibers used in the matrix help to reinforce the structure to prevent cracking and absorb energy from minor impacts. The textile is durable, provides protection against the elements, and is fire resistant. The product is easy to use, can be cut without special tools, making installation quite simple.

This product does require access to water (does not need to be potable), and it cannot be oversaturated. In the event that the textile is not sufficiently saturated with water, it may not set properly. This can be an issue in very hot climates, the canvas may need to be soaked additional times. Wet weather conditions may also impede the setting time. The rolls come in sealed packages, and should be stored in a dry place. If the packaging is opened or damaged, it should be sealed right away to prevent product degradation. Once opened, the canvas should be used within 48 hours, or else it will begin to break down. However, once the product sets it is very strong and has a lifespan of 10 years, and does not need any additional maintenance. If the canvas is no longer needed, it can be demolished with basic tools.

Duracrete Canvas is often used for the following:
· Quick construction – shelters, mining, agricultural structures
· Remediation or repair of existing structures
· Slope Stabilization to protect against surface erosion/weathering

Additional info and Instructions for use:
Bulk rolls available in 10sqm or 200sqm sizes - approximately 6KG per sqm

Saturate the canvas side of the product until it is wet to the touch, and remains wet for several minutes. Do not use high pressure hoses to wet the fabric, as it may damage the material and bore channels into the textile. The Duracrete Canvas has a working time of approximately two hours after hydration; do not move the product after setting has started. Working time will be reduced in hot climates. The product will be completely set within 24 hours, but will continue to gain strength over time.
