Dayr was born to Morellian parents travelling through Wild Space. His father worked as a Morellian Enforcer in regions where established authority could be distant, unreliable or entirely absent. Dayr remembers very little of those first years.

He was approximately four years old when his family encountered a group of Mandalorians that included Aether Verd. A confrontation followed. Dayr's father fought hard enough to bring down Mandalorian warriors before Aether ultimately defeated him. Mortally wounded, the Morellian made one final request: that his son be cared for.

Aether accepted, taking Dayr in as a foundling, adopting him into House Verd and raising him as his son.

Most of the childhood Dayr actually remembers came afterward. Mando'a became as natural to him as Basic, while Mandalorian customs stopped being lessons and became ordinary life. Weapons, armour, maintenance, survival and fieldcraft followed as he grew old enough to learn them.

Aether was still a young man himself when he took Dayr in, so neither of them entered the relationship with everything figured out. Over the years Aether taught him to shoot, fight, use Mandalorian equipment and eventually handle a jetpack. Later training widened through the House and, eventually, military service.

House Verd's Rule of Iron was part of the culture around him. Self-mastery mattered, as did protecting and providing for those regarded as one's own. Competence, responsibility and the ability to stand on one's own feet carried more weight than blind obedience.

Aether never concealed the circumstances that had brought them together. Dayr grew up knowing that the man raising him was also the man who had killed his biological father. It was part of his family history from an early age, rather than something revealed to him later.

His father's .48-calibre Enforcer pistol had been recovered after the confrontation and preserved. Once Dayr was old enough to carry it responsibly, the weapon was given to him, and he has kept it ever since.

His early weapons training was broad, but handguns increasingly suited him. Dayr liked their immediacy. A pistol could be cleared from a holster quickly, brought onto another target without much wasted movement, and carried without compromising the rest of his kit.

He spent more time on the discipline than was required. Drawing from awkward positions, firing while moving, changing targets quickly, shooting after a sprint or immediately after a jet-assisted landing all became part of his practice. The heavy Enforcer suited him particularly well, and a WESTAR-35 eventually joined it as his conventional blaster sidearm.

By his later teens, Dayr was beginning to work without Aether beside him. The first jobs were small: hunting, scouting, tracking and retrieval work. They relied on patience and persistence more than overwhelming firepower.

One of his first paid solo captures ran several days longer than expected after the quarry abandoned transport and crossed broken country on foot. Dayr stayed on the trail and eventually brought the fugitive back alive. It was not an important bounty by anyone else's standards, but nobody had made the decisions for him or finished the work on his behalf.

Other hunts went badly. Quarry escaped, information proved useless, equipment failed when he needed it, and once he returned with damage to his ship and no bounty to show for the trip. Enough jobs succeeded that he kept taking them.

Bounty work became a useful extension of skills he already possessed, and gave him room to develop away from Aether's immediate influence. Tracking became one of his stronger disciplines. He found that he had patience for the less interesting parts of a hunt: waiting, following old signs, checking bad information and spending hours moving in the wrong direction before finding something useful.

His fighting style developed along similar lines. Dayr favoured movement over weight. His beskar'gam remained light enough to let him reposition quickly, while a jetpack opened routes that did not exist at ground level. He became comfortable fighting through short bursts of movement, changes in elevation and quick shifts between pursuit and direct confrontation.

Eventually he entered service with the Great Heathen Army as a Warrior assigned to the Warhost.

Military service required some adjustment. Dayr already knew how to fight, but a battlefield demanded more than the solution one warrior preferred. Formation, timing and larger objectives mattered, and sometimes his part in the fight was simply to hold the position someone else depended on him to hold. He learned to work within that structure.

Warhost service also put him against people who were neither training partners nor bounty quarry. It gave him enough real combat experience to find out which parts of his training held up when somebody was genuinely trying to kill him.

Outside formal campaigns, he continued taking independent work. More of the credits from those jobs went into his equipment and his ship. His Proa-class X12 was gradually pushed beyond its original factory configuration, with engine restrictions altered and systems adjusted to tolerate the kind of flying Dayr preferred. It became quicker, and less forgiving if maintenance slipped.

Now in his early twenties, Dayr has enough experience to operate without somebody standing over his shoulder and enough failures to understand that training is not the same thing as mastery. He has completed bounties, served beside other warriors, travelled alone and fought people who meant to kill him.

He has no great legend attached to his name yet, and that does not trouble him.

For all the history surrounding his family, Dayr has never regarded being Mandalorian as something borrowed from Aether or provisionally granted by House Verd. It is the culture he remembers, the life in which he was raised and the identity he has spent most of his years building for himself.

Aether Verd killed his biological father and later raised him. Dayr carries his father's pistol and the Verd name. What he does with both is still his to decide.
APPEARANCE // 04
Dayr is a young Morellian male standing approximately 6'2" and weighing around 91 kilograms. His build is fit and solid from a lifetime of physical training and fieldwork without being unusually imposing.

He has sandy-blonde hair, usually worn loose and somewhat tousled, brown eyes and lightly tanned skin. At a glance he can pass easily for Human. Scars across his face and body have accumulated through training and field experience.

His expression tends toward neutral or watchful when he is not speaking.

Dayr's beskar'gam uses weathered pale-metal plates over dark clothing, with a worn brown cloak or mantle helping break up the harder lines of the armour. Protection is concentrated where it matters while leaving enough freedom for the mobile style he prefers.

The ram's skull insignia of House Verd is carried with the armour.

He is rarely separated from his father's .48 Enforcer pistol.

PERSONALITY // 05
Dayr is reserved, stoic and economical with words. He is comfortable with silence and rarely speaks merely to fill it.

When he has something to say, he tends to say it plainly and in as few words as the point requires. He usually means exactly what he says.

That reserve should not be mistaken for shyness or social incompetence. Dayr can question people, negotiate contracts, deal with strangers and work within a group without difficulty. He simply sees little value in unnecessary conversation.

Action comes more naturally to him than explanation. If something needs doing, his first instinct is generally to get on with it.

His emotions are controlled rather than absent. Anger tends to make him quieter, not louder. Loyalty and affection appear more readily in what he does for someone than in lengthy declarations.

His humour is dry, sparse and usually delivered without much ceremony.

Dayr is patient when travelling, tracking or waiting for a quarry to make a mistake. He is comfortable spending long periods alone and does not require constant activity or conversation to occupy himself.

Responsibility carries unusual weight. Once he accepts a person, task or quarry as his responsibility, putting it down again does not come easily.

Mandalorian culture is the only culture he meaningfully remembers.

He considers himself Mandalorian without qualification.

He is Verd.
FIELD PROFILE // 06
▲ GUNSLINGER
Handguns are Dayr's strongest combat discipline. His skill is built around fast presentation, practical accuracy, movement and quick transitions between targets rather than specialised long-range marksmanship.

▲ MANDALORIAN TRAINING
Raised within House Verd from approximately four years old. Weapons, armour, conditioning, equipment maintenance and combat have been ordinary parts of his life. Warhost service has broadened that foundation without making him a master of every Mandalorian discipline.

▲ FIELDCRAFT
Comfortable with hunting, survival, tracking and extended deployment. Dayr can follow quarry, read terrain and operate alone for long periods without requiring constant support.

▲ MOBILE COMBATANT
Dayr fights through position rather than weight. His armour, jetpack and weapons are configured around rapid movement, changes in elevation and practical skirmishing distances.

▲ INDEPENDENT OPERATOR
He has completed hunts and bounty work outside Aether's immediate influence, learning to make his own decisions, maintain his own equipment and live with his own mistakes.
LIMITATIONS
▼ YOUNG
Dayr has trained for most of his life and has genuine field experience, but he does not possess veteran judgement, command experience or decades of accumulated combat knowledge.

▼ SPECIALIST BIAS
He is competent with rifles and ordinary Mandalorian weapons, but pistols remain his clear speciality. He is not a sniper or universal weapons expert.

▼ HEAVY TARGETS
Dayr's ordinary equipment is designed primarily for personal combat. Heavy armour, vehicles, fortifications and war machines require different equipment, support or a better approach.

▼ RESPONSIBILITY
Once Dayr accepts responsibility for somebody or something, disengaging becomes difficult. Persistence can keep him committed after withdrawing would be the more sensible choice.
BESKAR'GAM // 07
Light-to-medium beskar'gam configured around mobility and personal combat rather than maximum armour coverage.

Weathered pale-metal plates sit over dark underlayers, accompanied by a worn brown cloak or mantle.

A jetpack supports rapid repositioning, vertical pursuit and mobile skirmishing.

The armour carries the ram's skull insignia of House Verd.
WEAPONS // 08
.48-CALIBRE ENFORCER PISTOL
Dayr's biological father's weapon and his constant sidearm. A heavy Morellian slugthrower and the strongest physical connection he retains to the father he barely remembers.

WESTAR-35 BLASTER PISTOL
Dayr's primary conventional blaster sidearm and the practical counterpart to the heavier Enforcer.
VESSEL // 09
PROA-CLASS X12

Dayr's personal vessel and primary means of independent travel.

Its engines have been modified and factory restrictions altered so the craft can be pushed harder than standard specifications intended.

A portion of Dayr's independent earnings has gone back into the vessel, its maintenance and continuing modifications.

The X12 reflects the same priorities as its pilot: mobility, travel and skirmishing rather than heavy combat.

Dayr tends to fly aggressively.

The ship tolerates it, provided he remembers that modified engines still expect to be maintained.
