The sun was out in full, rays of light spilling out through the crowds across the Capital City as Kurata walked the roadside in search of the Western Academy. There were many stories about this locale, however those of most interest to the bladesman contained details of combat and fighting prowess, rumors of the Western Wolves whom apparently lived within. Famed in their skill and apparently second to none, Kurata couldn't help but seek them out in order to see for his own eyes whether the tales were true.

Kansai was not a familiar place, an Island of Atrisia where as he was of Xam’Chi, upon the mainland. By comparison the population seemed smaller and the City somewhat more peaceful despite it's being carved of crystal and reflecting an aura of radiance visible from afar. A beautiful site to be admired, and an experience to be appreciated, the lone male was gladdened for it.

However, Kurata was not without his own ambitions and motives for being there. As aforementioned, the Western Wolves had gained his notice from tales that sounded taller than most, and out of seeking to better himself, as well as to find a purpose behind his martial skills, he had questioned whether or not he might be able to acquire such things there within the Western Academy. One of apparently four known institutes within Kansai.

The city of Kansai was mostly going through a massive reconstruction... it was rarely if ever attacked but with many of the other reformations and changes that had been brought it. They were improving it, the houses were being given two breakthroughs. Living modules that were largely self contained and a coating of traditional... from wooden panels that were oiled and designed to disguise the more modern to skyscrapers and newer crystal structures. They had managed to find several large ones in asteroids and bringing them back were working them on the world which here the cutters made homes, streets, parks and business. All sparkling and glittering in the lights as they cast dozens of colors.

The internal temple itself was a beautiful thing and Junko sat there behind the byo screen, ornate pictures painted on them as one fo the things brought back it some cases was a traditionalism approach... the screens used to divide the males and the females to give an air of mystery no looks just speech and characters... hwo you acted if you tried to peak through some of the small gaps or sat normal. She was listening to one of the men reporting on the reconstruction efforts at the academies and Fang Min sat next to her... the older jedi master was well no one was certain she looked that same as she had when she taught and protected force users during the inquisition and darker times.. she had hidden many of them away.

"We have begun the reconstruction of the eastern academy, after we managed to clean it up from the riots and imprisoned the ones who started it and tried to attack the soldiers. We were able to move in and help some of the shop owners they had been extorting and beating. There are a dozen reports of it and the abuse they caused." He said it and they learned about the police forces who had been there were largely well unable to do anything. They weren't allowed to stop it and the others had instead sealed the ways with only a few coming out from time to time under strict conditions as the other districts did not allow it. Junko had seen it first hand and the empress herself didn't take kindly to some of the things they said to her.

"Yes, we have seen it and based on the few things we saw we can only imagine what they have done to many of them." She was also looking at it and some of the bigger plans... the academy district was a time tested relic of the Onyx empress and had given a great deal while also being a dangerous stain to Atrisia as her honor was always in question.. her approval came as a mixed bag with more divided on iof she was a good person cast in a bad light or a bad person who happened at times to do some good things then and again. She had also met with the headmasters of the academies and the leaders of their student councils... the Western was the most militarily while North was focused on engineering.

"I will beheading back out to observe the Western academy later today. Unchou has said they were working on some of the new formations that should be good for the military and wanted it reviewed." That got a small snicker from one fo the ladies in waiting around the screens and she shifted... there were different ladies from different houses who were invited to he temple... for training and etiquette lessons. Some of them were considered minor princesses, being cousins of the emperor or empress. clan members and they were given a royal status if ever minor... something special as the man rose up and left the room. Junko slid a fan out from her kimono sleeve and fanned herself as she rose up.

The smooth motion even in the form fitted outfit that was made from skylar materials... rigid but also able to move and still provide much in the way of protection.. her wooden geta from the tree of an arkannes tree that enhanced the force and she was walking with a smooth motion. Her hair long and flowing down her back, crystal bells made of kyber jingling and little beads that were painstakingly time consuming to put in from her handmaidens... the saber at her hip gleaming with the smooth bone finish to the hilt and the silver metal. Her skin pale with the shiroi make up that was fashioned from solari crystal that made her skin gleam.

She exited the temple and stood overlooking the raised island they were on, what had once been well under the ocean had been raised and the fashioned into a beautiful sight to behold, large bridges built to connect it to the main city ports and the waters between given a hydrostatic shielding to prevent predators in the ocean from entering it so they could allow swimming and exploration. The ocean itself though looked out upon the sea and there were three barriers you could see... far out on the horizon that connected and went around onto the main land. The smaller islands that were in the waters within the protection barriers at intervals and shipping lanes around them.

The crystal clear waters that were cleaned from the static shields under the water and above which kept storms from crashing against the barriers and when a planetary shielding grid was activated for bombardment it was quite a sight to behold. One of the islands serving as the primarily military base with Kabaneri fighters. Submersibles were traveling around and underwater tubes where speeders went allowing many to go from different islands and areas of the city. Environmental control stations and orchid platforms that observed and protected the walls or hovered along the barriers tracks in the oceans.

The destination that she was going towards was one of the docks with a skiff, the repulsors in place of skies that would allow them to travel quicker then waiting for winds as it could still do that but also now was able to go over grass, water, snow and sand much better then before. Junko sat in it as her Makie droid dipped down to join her taking a small area and two of the guards set it up so that the would be able to move and head towards the academy districts. "Princess we have some news, Keisai were spotted along the mountain path from the mountains towards the city. It seemed they are bringing new artwork."

There was always a sort of spectacle when they appeared Junko knew and many loved to see their artwork which often sold for overly modest amounts of credits. The new reforms well made it easier for many to get their services and partake across the planet as with new living modules and technologies they were quickly reaching a post scarcity situation where they had plenty of reserves for famine.. they were actually able to sell off to other planets yearly harvests now which built up their economy... there was the construction and preservation as the Anshin worked on clean initiatives. The planets in the systems were being terraformed and worked on.

THe skiff was moving across the water and the spray of water was like a mist on her skin as it cooled and sent small shivers... she was looking as the city gave way to the academy districts and they went onto the sand as the sounds in the distance came. Drumbeats, heavy and from blue clad warriors in the lower classes that had to participate and work with or for the elder classmates... The sounds going to indicate one of the mock battles was happening as red flag wearing individuals from the Northern academy were fighting the blue ribboned academy which moved and fought with spears and swords easily enough.

She could see and feel Unchou in the fight as she was not one to stand back.. no Junko had watched and met with her a couple times and while not knowing her perfectly she had a small idea of her personality which didn't go towards planning. She was more the punch things... and then punch them again and if that didn't work she sort of kicked them in the face as several of the students she could see were knocked out from the fighter that moved gracefully around them... martial arts something important to the western wolves before she grabbed one of the opposing students and holding him spun around until he lifted off the ground and slammed him into another releasing him at a group of his allies.

The commotion of a battle took Kurata's attention and persuaded him to shift course, now moving to investigate. Lacking any familiarity with Kansai, the man moved quickly against the knowledge that such a thing within the Capital City would be fast put to rest, were the battle truly real. Kurata's surprise and intrigue however forced a need to lay eyes upon the situation for himself, if not only to set his heart at ease, but also perhaps gain an indication of the famed warriors that he had heard tale of.

Making his way through the spectators with a sense of urgency and purpose about him, others begrudgingly moved aside in order for Kurata to reach the edge of the crowd and find himself looking out upon a choreographed dance of blades, a reenactment of a battle though lacking of any bloodshed. While he could not answer to whom the men and women wearing the colors blue or red were supposed to represent, Kurata otherwise stood and watched with a sense of relief as the competition proved to be exactly that, and not something far worse.

Allowing his shoulders to fall with the exhale of a poised breath, Kurata turned to those who had allowed him entry, and bowed his head in silent apology, making his way to return to the back of the crowd and begin the long circle around the people. Those who were practicing showed a great talent in the control of body and mind, performing acts for the people's entertainment that many couldn't achieve had their life depended upon it. These were skilled and well learned artisans of the path, and though Kurata had never participated in a fight for the amusement of others, he could not deny their skill and agree with the marvel of the crowd in response to the two teams competitive struggle against one another.

The sound of the drums stopped for a moment as it suspended... the sudden silence in the air before the attack began. The Northern academies red clad fighters were skilled with swords and spears. Within the crowd there was a brief moment as JUnko caught the white hair of Gan Ou Hanzo was there but she was gone just as quickly. The wandering general was respected enough that most didn't approach her and she likely had been the one helping them make those Crescent Blade but Junko was looking at the hills. The western academy was built into the mountains while the norther academy was well built up... a massive spiral tower that was carved from an entire mountain.

She could see the blue clad fighters from the western academy coming now as Unchou was at the head... wearing well modified at best armor. The padded leathers leaving her arms bare but she had the gauntlets and a crescent blade in her hand. The long hair behind her before she was moving quickly and waded into the red armored fighters sending several back with a heavy smack of her blades edge into their chests so they could launch up. They were making it a display for several things... there was academy pride the winners held their heads high and usually were given exotic foods or clothing from shop owners... there was also the end of the year when they were given first picks for academies because of their skills.

Junko was watching with the rest of the crowd and it was well a bloodless bath but she could see Chujo Akikonomu standing overlooking everything that was happening and trying to direct the forces. They were going after the others who weren't Unchou No-Kami... she knew from experience seeing Unchou fight that she is not the most..... attentive to her allies. Which could be dangerous as they might have been able to surround her as her makie droid was firing stun shots from over her shoulder. The other ones on the field were normal and hadn't been modified secretly by the northern academies best engineer because she wanted to give a gift.

No one really knew that though and the stun shot from the droid was going after the others to keep them off of Unchou while she was leading her unit... there in the center pushing against them were the wolves... different students who had shown the most skill and JUnko had been wanting to see them. There was another Kan'U was there with twin swords and the blind Atrisian was scary in some ways as she had been trained by Jubei to fight even without her eyesight.... Junko could feel the force rolling off of her though and she imagined she was able to develop and had seen through it. There was others as well.. their armbands showing how to move as they focused quickly waiing and each attacking fast before retreating and letting another take a strike from a different direction. It was a wolfpack tactic for wearing down and knocking out many of their opponents even when outnnumbered.

Kurata found himself torn between the desire to carry on with his heading, yet also to stay put and watch the reiteration of conflict playing out. As a learned swordsman in his own right, he found the styles and forms of the combatants to be most graceful, turning the art of warfare into a dance, something to be admired in the skill and movements of which they all moved against one another. Even in the rivalry of competition, those who were overcome, fell with dignity and style.

In regards to the presence of aura's and practices of the Force, Kurata was however foreign to the knowledge and experience, for Clan Sadao had never been one to encourage the use of the Force, and all who carried signs of the potential in it's use, were discouraged from seeking progress down that path. Instead, Kurata had been taught to rely on his body, mind and spiritual being. To learn and continue to push his physical limitations through training. To keep his mind sharp and to learn to trust in his instincts; Finally to appreciate the life and opportunities given, to find harmony and temperance in the beauty of the world around him and to always strive to give praise to the Kami, and to offer respect and tribute in return for all things taken for granted and abused.

Nowadays Clan Sadao seemed almost insignificant compared to the more prosperous and well known Clans. His father, Hirata Sadao stood as the head of the Clan and their small family all that remained of a once large and proud sigil. Over the decades, descendants had either married off to other houses, or Sons fallen in battle, a warriors death however taking the name and future of the clan with them. Today, that future remained with Kurata...-However he was not entirely satisfied with a life of seclusion from the rest of the Galaxy. While he loved and did his best to honor his people, something had been largely gnawing at him over the recent months, slowly eating away and leaving him restless, drawing his attention to matters beyond Clan Sadao alone.

Standing to the back of the crowd, watching but not entirely seeing anything specific before him, his mind fell upon the recent days and the troubling uncertainty over where his duty to his Clan would lead him, or was there something greater beyond his home province that awaited him further down the line, in the weeks or months ahead.

The battle continued and the sounds of drums continued... resuming really but the pitch of the combat changed with many of the red clad students off to the side now where they had been eliminated. THey had superior numbers mostly and in terms of their test taking they were juggernauts but here in a battle they just went against the golden standard for training physically. Junko clasped her hands as Unchou was holding Chujo in victory with the battle being called from the commander being captured. The people cheered and looking at the blue clad students they helped up the red ones who were knocked down but they were also patting each other to celebrate as JUnko stepped forward. "Congratulations Unchou, your Wolves have won again."

The ble clad student council president beamed with a sense of pride as she was looking at the jedi master with a nod and then at the crowds who were cheering and excited from the fight. She spoke with a grin on her face while she held up the crescent blade. "Thank you princess, the Western olves are proud to show their skills and bring glory to their school." She grinned and remained there for a moment while the people were dispersing with more of the blue clad fighters staying around now and starting to gather what equipment they had at the ready to take back in a march to their academy. Water was being given out to all of them and there was food.

Junko remained there and she bowed looking at them while a few of the others worked to record the works they had done. "Wonderful speech." She said it and was thinking how much she had to rehearse that in the mirror. Her hands clapped and they could use the skiff to head over to the Academy as it loomed up in the mountains with the northern spire off and able to be seen. "If you want we can take you and your 'prisoner' back to the Academy... the headmaster would likely be glad to see and hear the news about what has happened." She said ti and there were one or two who might be around and wanted to go and see... the drills at the academy were always able to be seen by perspective donors and parents wanting their kids to go. "If anyone wishes to come to the academy speak up now."
