Culture:
  • Confederation Day, first day of the seventh month, roughly the summer solstice. Confederation Day commemorates the Wharl Treaty.
  • Immense, shared hive cities are home to mixed populations of species who are at home in hives and close confines. Most cities thus have a Dasidai Labyrinth, an immense three-dimensional maze involving altered gravitational direction. The Labyrinth is used as a rite of passage in various Dasidai cultures, as well as a sporting event popular among Lugubraa and Killiks. Much like podracing, humanoids need not apply, though the explorer @Jorus Merrill once successfully navigated the Great Labyrinth in Kerromor.
Technology: This deep in the Unknown Regions, galactic standard technology is relatively rare. Dasid Anya's products are normally 'close enough', but not qualitatively equal to the products of major (i.e. Tier 5) manufacturers.
History: When the Killiks arrive and stake their claim, most worlds simply give up. Killiks get everywhere, and their hives and birth rate tend to push out less competitive species. Such has been the case on half a dozen worlds of the Unknown Regions, if not more. But what happens when the Killiks arrive on a planet already occupied by a hive-organized species with a high birth rate and a competitive strategy? A species, say, like the Lugubraa?

The answer, of course, was war. Or would have been, if not for the presence of a third element: A small community of Tchuukthai, physically imposing, wise, isolationist but benevolent. Unwilling to watch their shared world devolve, the Tchuukthai brokered a lasting peace around 420 BBY. A loose confederation evolved, one which grew more tight-knit with the emergence of common enemies over the ensuing millennium. The Ebruchi were once one such enemy, though the descendants of Ebruchi prisoners of war now form a peaceful and contributing part of Dasidai society, with a full voice in the confederation. Dasid Anya repelled the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium at one point, and was briefly subjugated by the Yuuzhan Vong, but overall its location -- near the mining hub 244Core and the fortress world O'reen -- has kept it strong enough to repel most enemies. Dasidai society is not overly militaristic, by and large.

Notable PC's: None yet

Intent:
  • To represent the Unknown Regions' diversity and potential
  • To create a potential expansion route for Lords of the Fringe (and thus reduce the potential for war with OP)
  • To create a potential route for a Republic-commissioned hyperlane into the Unknown Regions
