PersonalityOVERVIEW
In conversation, his voice never goes up with wrath nor down with idleness; it is an even baritone, with challenge and with supplication. Questions are asked with deference, and yet they cut straight at the corner of your rationality. He talks as though pondering every thought in his own mind before coming at you again with it, buffed and redefineed, so that your own concepts come back at you in the guise of his manufacture.
All coded doctrine—Sith teaching, Jedi oath, politics—are to him the permutations on the theme: chains created by minds in fear. Neither dogma, he argues, sets us free; both require surrender to creeds that smother individuation. He does not propound this philosophy in the bombast and parade of vocal treatises, but allows it to permeate all instruction, all rebuke. A student might arrive in the preconvinced belief that the Jedi Code is untainted, and depart with the uncomfortable realization that compassion is a disguise for cowardice, and mercy is a leash and not a gift.
To his followers, he provides advice filled with paradox. Each follower is pushed to face the doubt within themselves and struggle with their worst vices. When you think you see trough his lesson , he puts on an additional layer: a puzzle which unravels what you think you know. And thus he forges minds which do not merely follow, but minds which avoid learned certainties for an ever-changing truth.
Below the austere exterior is a hunger for power. He explores the worlds that are strong withing the dark side of the Force. It is an all-absorbing passion that colours every excursion he makes, every volume he deciphers in damp libraries. Scars to him are not wounds to be healed, but points of leverage with which the universe could be torn loose from seeming cosmic thralldom.
His patience is both a gift and a test. He waits for half a year the precise timing of the events on which he has set his sights, and you know that to win his endorsement you must stretch your consciousness to anticipate alternatives before they occur. But in moments of triumph, he produces the occasional wistful smile—a grudging acknowledgement that his grand visions sometimes release a real, if fleeting, warmth. All such movements are always in part acts of reminding oneself and not acts of solace; acts of reminding that even a heart cast into darkness can remember the radiance of light.
But there is a price for his largesse. His followers realize that with each of the blessings he piles on them is matched an undertow of obligation. He will share wisdom with those who ask, but in the process ties them tighter still to his own will. And so when betrayal finally occurs—which come it must—it is not a hurt, so much as graduation, evidence that they have learned the most elementary lesson of all: how to turn against the very ideals they once believed in
Those who make the mistake of underestimating him for reserve are quickly corrected. In arguings, he uses reason as a rapier, stripping his opponent to the very bone with piercing syllogisms which admit no possible defense. On the battlefield, he battles as one with the Force—every movement economical, every blow balanced with precision striking.
Alone, his mind is a forge. He exists on the cusp of madness and obsession, pouring over holocrons and broken books hoping to find some forgotten teachings that will break the minds of those serving under him.
APPEARANCE
His hair is as white as snow falling in a cascade down his shoulders. Together with his beard, it covers his entire face. His eyes, which were once bright green, are now molten red and yellow, corrupted by the dark side. His face was clean, but signs of his advancing age, together with the corruption of the dark side clearly visible across it. The years had not been easy on his body leaving him an old tired man
He wears a black cloak that covers him from head to toe, only revealing his haunting eyes and face.

Backstory:
Born to the name Vytorin Blackheart, he would live on Eshan for the early stages of his childhood before being detected by the New Jedi Order. He would be picked up by Master Xaos Kun, who would take the boy to Tython to be trained.
Upon his arrival, he would be tested by the Jedi, and they would find that the young boy was exceptionally gifted in the Force. He would begin his Jedi training shortly after.
From an early age, he demonstrated great proficiency in abilities such as mind tricks, but problems arose when he would sometimes use this ability on his fellow students. The masters of the order would, at the time, ignore it, thinking the boy would grow out of it as he aged, but this would not change; in fact, it encouraged him to train his mind-trick skills further.
At around the age of 11, he would attend the gathering ritual, during which he would obtain his first kyber crystal. The Gathering would take place on the ancient planet of Illum. Here, he would find a purple crystal that called upon him through the Force.
Upon returning from the Gathering, he would begin to assemble his first lightsaber. He would also begin to practice his preferred lightsaber combat style using a saberstaff. He would also be selected to serve as a Padawan for the Master of Jedi Shadows. This also served as his becoming a member of the said branch. His master would teach him many tricks of stealth as well as force abilities relating to it.
Abilities such as Force Cloak, Force Concealment, as well as developing early stages of Force Precognition, became his go-to abilities during this period. He would train them and practice them daily.
He would begin to join his master in a hunt for long-lost Sith artefacts that had been deemed too dangerous by the Jedi Council. Vytorin and his master would take on many such tasks, scouring the galaxy for the long-lost artefacts. Getting into plenty of trouble during this time. They would encounter a fair few would-be Sith Lords, whom they would defeat in battle in the name of the Republic and the New Jedi Order.
During those missions, Vytorin would also learn some dark side abilities from the artefacts he had interacted with. While his master would warn him that those abilities are forbidden, he would continue to practice them in secret.
A few years later, he would meet his to-be wife during a mission on Serenno. The girl, like him, was an Echani, and attraction could have been seen from the moment they met. But at that time, nothing could be done due to both of their busy schedules, he being a Jedi and she being a noble on Serenno. But they would stay in contact even as the years passed them by. Shortly after his 20th birthday, Vytorin would finally reach the rank of a Jedi Knight, and his training would slow down ever so slightly. This allowed him time to travel back to Serenno and marry the love of his life.
The two would move back to Eshan, where they would start their own family, bringing forth a group of two boys and three girls. Vytorin would often travel from and to the Jedi Order to ensure he was there for his family. One slight disappointment he had experienced during this period, however, was that all five of his children did not show any Force sensitivity. He would spend plenty of time with them at this early age, but war was coming to the galaxy, and he could not be kept out of it. He would return to the order and would take on his first student.
A young human male called Zoban would become his first student. They would spend countless hours together travelling through the galaxy and assisting the Galactic Alliance. It would be during this period that Vytorin would take on a mission to dismantle a Sith Acolyte group in the underground of Coruscant. This group was not like the others they would have seen during this period; they did not seek conquest or greater power, they sought something far darker and far more corrupt.
Any Sith informants that the Jedi had also confirmed to them how much the actual Sith disliked this group, giving the Jedi a moment of pause as to what they were dealing with here. With the severe complexity of the issue, Jedi would assign Jedi Shadows to quickly and effectively dismantle this group. Vytorin would lead the strike group against them, and as he would reach them, he would find them building a small hidden temple in the underground of the city.
Shadows would strike quickly, with the Acolytes being no match for them in their power or strength. They would destroy their order in a matter of hours, but during the battle, Vytorin would find the reason for their corruption: a simple holocron.
This holocron was hundreds, if not thousands, of years old, and it did not look like any of the modern holocrons one could find; its shape was different, seemingly from another era. It was cracked in places, and small pieces of the glass covering it were completely gone. He would begin to approach it with a full decision to destroy the thing, but something inside it spoke to him, a voice came out of it, and it would take over his mind, controlling him. Then he would hear the voice of an old woman...she would speak words of power, the words of knowledge he had never heard before; he wanted to resist, but he could not. Her words forced him to lower his blade and take the holocron with him.
His Padawan did not know. No one knew he had taken it with him. To ensure it remained hidden, he would take it far away from the order. He would conceal it back at his home in Eshan. With his secret now safe, he would return to the order and continue to train his students, but the voice he had heard that day still had not left his mind; it was there constantly calling to him to return to it.
He would resist its call for a time, but soon it was too much, and he would return to Eshan, claiming to be just visiting his family. His wife quickly noticed that he was not himself when he was there; he seemed slightly lost and confused, he would not spend as much time as he used to with his kids, and he was far more withdrawn, spending time in what she called a shrine under their home.
What she did not know was that during that period, Vytorin was listening to the voice from the holocron, learning its secrets and learning its power. He was slowly being consumed, but he had learnt the ability to fake his presence in the Force to appear as if he were a follower of the light when in fact he was slowly being corrupted by the darkness. A year or so later, he would return to the order. But this was because his Padawan was set to be knighted, which also meant Vytorin was set to become a Jedi Master, but by this point, he hardly cared about this; his mind was focused on one simple thing: learning more from the holocron and finding further power.
Upon the completion of the Knight trials of his apprentice, he would congratulate him before almost completely disappearing from the order. He would once again return to Eshan, where he would spend the rest of his time. He now began allowing the dark side to corrupt him, allowing the teachings of the Sith Holocron to take full effect on his mind. He would begin to grow out his beard, leaving his clean-shaven face behind. He started to look far, far older than what he was.
Holocron had taught him something new, something far darker than anything before. It was a power to drain people of their life force. He would at first focus on just the force-sensitive Echani. Every time he would absorb their energy, he would feel far more refreshed and more powerful than before. The man who was once Vytorin Blackheart, a Jedi Master, was completely consumed by the power that came from this holocron.
Shortly after, the holocorn would speak further words of poison, but these words were for him to do the unthinkable and drain his own family of their force. While at first agreeing to do it. When he saw his kids playing with his wife, he could not bring himself to do it. It was this moment that he decided to leave his entire former life behind him. He would only leave his cloak on the bed before fleeing Eshan forever.
For years after it, he would wander the galaxy listening to the voice from the holocron, which guided him to the lost places of power. In these places, he would learn the further secrets of the dark side, completely giving himself to the holocron and its power. Until one day, the holocron mentioned a location he had not heard of before, "Malachor V".
He would search any documents he could find to learn of this place, but it seemed that the entire galaxy had forgotten its existence. Until he made his way to Korriban. Already being consumed by the dark side and with his previous knowledge as a Jedi Shadow, it was easy for him to access the knowledge of the ancient Sith. Here he would learn of Malachor and its history as well as the fact that it had seemingly been destroyed thousands of years ago.
But something told him this may not have been the case. He would hire a smuggler to take him to the planet. As they reached it, they would find a planet that had seemingly been torn apart. The thousands of years that had passed had it push back together. But the planet itself seemed dead to any outside viewer. The smuggler was not particularly interested in landing on it and risking his life...so Vytorin had to take measures to ensure he lands there.
He would kill the smuggler and use his ship to land. He would use the ship to refill his breathing apparatuses so he could survive on the planet that had no atmosphere. He wondered if it's ruined surface searching for what the holocron wanted him to find.
It took him a few years, but eventually he would find the entrance. It was a ruin, but the bridge was still accessible over acid pits that still boiled below. As he approached what was once the entrance, he was forced to use force to move the boulders blocking it. As he entered the ruins, he could feel the dark side hiding within them. It came from behind every stone and every boulder, darkness that had been trapped for millennias. He would move through the ruined corridors, the air within them was still poisonous and unbreathable, but the breathing apparatus he had obtained from the Smuggler allowed him to survive inside.
He would make his way through the ruins, and he would eventually reach what was once the centre of the academy, but to his annoyance, it was completely missing. It seems that at some point, the entire central area had collapsed into the abyss below. Knowing that with the current tools he had no way of reaching the bottom, he would return to the ship and command it off the planet. He would make his way to Nar Shaddaa, where he obtained the tools needed to enter the said abyss. Upon his return, he would use a small vehicle that allowed him to enter it. The air there was just like outside, if not ever worse. But he felt the call from the holocron even stronger there.
As he landed at the bottom, the holocron shone bright red until he reached a certain spot. There, he would once again use the force to lift the rocks below him, and they would reveal a hooded figure that had seemingly been crushed thousands of years ago. He would place his hand on it and would feel the dark side emanating from it. He finally felt like he was home, and the voice that spoke from it was finally quiet for a moment. He would place the bones into a box and cover the box in the cloak before making his way up.
From this day onwards, he would begin to rebuild the ancient academy. His first goal was to ensure it was breathable inside. The ancient technology inside had to be somewhat replaced, but he was able to do this by hiring groups of droids who needed no air while inside. It took years for it to be completed, but eventually the temple, at least from inside, was fully rebuilt. Outside, it would still look like a ruin to the naked eye. But inside the darkness was once again unleashed. Near the entrance, there was also a shrine built of the bones he had found at the end, covering them with the cloak inside. The shrine was encased in a glass window, blocking anyone from touching it.
During this time, Vytorin would access the lost archives that were still hidden here from those he had learned the further secrets of the dark side. He further improved his knowledge of drain life. And learned abilities such as Force Choke, Force Lightning, Force Kill, Force Wound, Force Horror, Force Corrupt, as well as further advances in his ability to cloak from his enemies.
A few years later, he would be visited by a ghost of his past, his former Padawan, who went in to search for him after his Master disappeared. The young man who was now a Knight for multiple years would somehow locate the Trayus academy and confront his master in it. He was shocked by the corruption he had seen in him, and he wanted to save him and protect him from it. But Vytorin saw this as the final test, the one that would bring him over the line. The duo would engage in combat, during which Vytorin displayed his new powers in their full strength. As he would defeat his former Padawan instead of killing him, Vytorin would enslave the young man to his will. Using the force to break him mentally and corrupt him from the inside. It would take months, but eventually the padawan would succumb to the darkness of the academy and embrace himself as an Acolyte of the academy.
Shortly after, Vytorin found himself meditating in front of the holocron that had controlled all his actions over the years. And he knew that the time had come to finish it.
As the final message played from it, the old voice that had been in his mind all these years said one final time, "There must always be a Darth Traya." Vytorin would put all his focus, all his anger and hatred that now lived within him, and use the force to crush the Holocron into small pieces as it exploded into thousands of pieces. He could feel the relief come from his shoulder. The voice that lived inside him was finally silenced.
He had entered Trayus' core today as Vytorin Blackheart....but exited it as Darth Trayus.
