Strengths:
Cutting power: A lightsaber could cut through virtually anything, from enemies to blast doors. Unlike other swords it has an omni-directional cutting edge.
Deflector: When used defensively, a Force-sensitive could deflect blaster bolts with a lightsaber, and could even reflect the shots back toward the shooter or some other target. Experienced wielders could even employ their lightsaber to absorb Force lightning.
Flexible: This lightsaber comes with a dual phase function allowing the wielder to quickly switch between three set lengths at the flick of a button. It was developed to be able to extinguish and ignite in an instant snap-hiss, allowing for full use of the Trakata technique.
Force Conduit: The lightsaber’s crystal is one noted to be able to allow its wielder to drain the life of others. While the lightsaber does not possess any life draining capabilities of its own, it serves as a channeling device that aids the wielder in the use of this particular skill.
Weaknesses:
Not everything burns: While lightsabers come equipped with the power to cut through almost anything, it will fail to do so against materials such as, but not limited to, beskar, phrik and alchemized items.
Things uncivilized: While efficient in deflecting and redirecting blaster bolts it is not particularly useful against slugthrowers and cannot provide an adequate defense against the momentum of a slug round.
No Water Pls: All lightsabers, unless specifically made, would short out when they were submerged in water due to rapid chain reactions and the instant overpowering of water on the blade. This lightsaber cannot be bathed with.
Description:
This lightsaber is the creation of Darth Pyrrhus. It is the second lightsaber he ever created, and one that rarely comes out to play. It is intended as a secondary lightsaber should his primary one for whatever reason not suffice. It is shorter than his original and is easily concealed. The hilt is beautifully decorated, however, so in the events that it does get used it looks flashy and fine. The flat emitter was composed of aurodium, a rare element that yielded a high load when converted into credits. The lightsaber hilt was covered with electrum detailing, a purely cosmetic accessory often used to make jewelry, which gives the hilt a distinctive gold colour. It doesn’t simply come with an appealing appearance, but with a phrik core that renders the whole a solid creation.
The colour of the blade, interestingly enough, is not red. Instead when activated it will reveal a dark green blade. The untraditional step away from red, typical for Sith lightsabers, has nothing to do with any kind of deception or with the agenda of being able to pass off as a Jedi. While it may serve that function at some point, the reason for it is more simple. To Darth Pyrrhus it simply felt right. When creating the blade the colour became clear in his mind. The crystal was a Life Drain crystal, which has been noted to aid its wielder in drawing upon the Force to drain the life of others.
Pyrrhus equipped the lightsaber with a few additional functions. Most notably it is a dual-phase lightsaber. This allows Pyrrhus to change the blade’s length between three pre-set lengths, each serving their own purpose in given situations. Unlike typical lightsabers which often possessed a manual adjuster for reducing the blade emission, the dual-phased blade could be triggered in an instant, adding an element of surprise to catch an opponent off guard. Additionally, dual-phase lightsabers also had a blade-width adjust. The hilt came equipped with an ion energy cell. These were placed in a lightsaber hilt in order to modify the energy output of the lightsaber, allowing skilled users to better deliver powerful attacks against both organic enemies and droids.
