SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Qixoni Crystal: Securely placed in the electrum housing on the back of the hand, is a Qixoni crystal. The crystal acts as a focus for Darth Excidium allowing him to enhance his Force abilities, increasing both his power and effectiveness.
Strengths:
  • Force Enhancement: The Qixoni crystal enhances Force abilities, allowing the owner to increase the power and effect of his/her abilities. Given Darth Excidium's average Force capabilities in most powers, the effect raises his effectiveness to high - comparable in Force strength to other, more naturally powerful Sith Lords of the same rank.
  • Ritual Runes: Etched runes of leviathan blood, the gauntlet bathed in the lake of the Temple of Pain, has enabled the power of the Qixoni to reach its full potential, maximizing its effectiveness and creating a passive enhancement effect to the wearer.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Presence: The gauntlet has a presence of the dark side, meaning Excidium cannot hide his location so long as he possesses the armor on his person.
  • Damaged: Heavy damage to the gauntlet will make the Qixoni crystals effects wane, and could result in the crystal itself being damaged or cracked, which would require a replacement and a re-attuning for the gauntlet to function again.
  • Destroyed: If the leather gauntlet is destroyed, the effect ends and Darth Excidium's Force powers return to normal levels. He must then salvage what remains and remake it.
  • Minimal Armor: The gauntlet only really serves purpose for the intent of Force-imbuing assistance. Armor value of the item is simply leather, and while it may offer some very low-to-low protection from blaster weapons or blades or blunt force attacks, the damage avoidance would be almost negligible.
DESCRIPTION
Darth Excidium, and his Dark Magus order, had finally reactivated and reclaimed the Temple of Pain. After conquering the guardian of the alchemy lake, it was the Sith Lord's wish to begin creating items of power for himself. Having attained a Qixoni crystal in his endeavors to build a lightsaber, Excidium had decided against using it as a focusing crystal for the weapon, instead saving it for another item in mind - his Force gauntlet.

With the mighty bellows of the Dark Forge burning once more, Excidium began his creation in earnest. He smelted a purified ingot of Electrum, while taking a portion of the dominated leviathan's blood, killing a Shata, then skinning and tanning the Shata leather personally. Painstakingly he stitched and sewed, while also using the Force to physically shape and craft the Electrum housing with the power of telekinesis and concentration alone. The last step in preparing the item was the Guerrerite finishes, which saw the dark metal substance smelted, shaped and applied with care. It took hours upon hours, all the while Excidium chanted and recited rituals and dark arts, infusing the creation to his will and presence in the Force.

When it was time to infuse the gauntlet with dark side energy, Excidium began by using the Force, and taking seven days without food, tuning his gauntlet. Drenching the item repeatedly in the alchemy lake, filled with millions of slaughtered souls, he ensured that morning and night it was completely submerged, as he performed dark rituals and incantations to truly have it absorb the power of the lake. By the end of the seventh day, the item had consumed a rich harvest of souls, becoming soaked in dark side energy and becoming attuned to Darth Excidium alone.

The final step was housing the Qixoni crystal, honing it to Excidium's essence, and merging his presence with the beautiful stone itself. After an additional two days of fasting and drenching the gauntlet, followed by etching runes across the straps of the item in leviathan blood, it was finally ready. And as soon as he placed the gauntlet onto his left forearm, Excidium felt a rush of power, as though the Force was willing to bend to his very command...

Note: This is my way of giving Excidium a quirk/flaw/drawback/interest, in that he isn't a 'natural Force powerhouse' like so many others (most), and allows me a chance to play with some personal limitations. Ultimately, this gauntlet brings his Force capabilities level with other Sith Lords of his rank, so it's kind of RP fluff, which is why I haven't gone overboard with weaknesses - basically I could just say he's super strong and a natural with the Force, or I can make it interesting and do this instead... hopefully that helps with the approval of this item.

Under Review.

I find this sub to be very interesting and well thought out. Instead of having a full blown Sith Lord we have an enhancement that can be removed in a number of ways allowing for fascinating storylines to develop.

I would like to see more like this. But next time, dare to go even more harshly with the risk vs reward.
