Darth Adekos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLcp8Dm-ejU

Name: Tyrin Ardik
Alias: Darth Adekos
Species: Umbaran
Age: 50
Gender: Male
Height: 11 Feet
Eyes: Brownish-Red
Skin: Pale White
Force Sensitive: Yes

Faction: None

Strengths:
  • [ Mechu-Deru ] - [ Aided by cybernetic implants and his own natural aptitude in the Force, Adekos has become a prodigious employer of the power of Mechu-Deru. He is able to manipulate machines and electronics of a wide variety at his discretion. Having learned from the holocrons of Belia Darzu, Darth Mekhis, and even the Telos Holocron, Darth Adekos may very well be the foremost expert in the galaxy. ]
  • [ Machinator ] - [ His back up plans have back up plans. Darth Adekos is a meticulous planner, executing even the most mundane of schemes with ruthless efficiency and attention to detail. Unfortunately, he usually only accounts for believable variables, which often leaves him at a distinct disadvantage when things descend to insanity... And they frequently do. ]
Weaknesses:
  • [ Subordinate ] - [ It's very easy to extort what you need out of Adekos if he fears or respects you. The wretched creature can easily be brow-beaten into doing just about anything by those with more force of will than him. ]
  • [ Craven ] - [ Some people have things like pride and dignity to keep them from fleeing battle at any given moment. Unfortunately, all sense of these things were knocked out of Darth Adekos when he was crushed in front of dozens of Sith by the infamous Thronebreaker, Mikhail Shorn. He has since shed that identity, but the scars remain. He will run as it suits him, and probably won't even feel bad enough to look back. ]
Biography:

Once upon a time, there was a little family on Umbara. A mommy, a daddy, and a little baby boy. As it turned out, the little baby boy was highly Force Sensitive, unlike his parents. Weird, right? Finding this out, a minor noble named Thelon Ardik decided that he could do a lot more with a Force Sensitive baby than those two peasants. Being a reasonable man, Thelon Ardik abducted the child and raised it as his own.

Once the child was in his custody and the original parents shipped someplace they wouldn't be a problem, Thelon Ardik registered the child as his adoptive son, giving him the name Tyrin. Once that was settled, Thelon shipped Tyrin to the Umbaran Sith Academy, where he was schooled in the arts of being a relatively competent assassin. Meanwhile, Thelon tutored young Tyrin in more sophisticated arts.

Once Tyrin graduated the academy, he spent a great deal of his years acting as his father's enforcer on Umbara, securing the Ardik family's rise to the upper echelons of the caste system. Eventually Tyrin decided he wanted to be his own man, and set off to find his own way in the Galaxy. He joined the Empire, as most Sith are wont to do.

His travels brought him to Mandalore, where he entered a bar just as Mikhail Shorn was tearing the place apart. It was here that Tyrin witnessed the schism within the Mandalorians that gave birth to the Death Watch. Seeing an opportunity to win the Mandalorians for the Sith cause, Tyrin set out to ingrain himself in the Death Watch.

Later on, Tyrin and the Death Watch would fight at Roche, with disastrous results.

For a while, though, everything else went well. Then, despite Tyrin's urging not to, RC 212 decided the Death Watch should become a country rather than a movement. They settled down in the general area surrounding Mustafar. During their stay in the area, the Death Watch managed to capture a Lucrehulk-Class Battleship, which Tyrin took as his own and dubbed the Machinator.

While Tyrin was not present, the Death Watch launched a subjugation of Mustafar. During which, the Death Watch lost their flagship to Ewoks. This was the final blow to the Death Watch's credibility. The Death Watch's meager holdings in the area collapsed, prompting Tyrin to abandon them completely. He stole the Lucrehulk from them, embezzled what money he could, and fled the sector. Tyrin was joined in his exodus by a number of Death Watch who decided they were better off with him.

Prior to his abandoning of the Death Watch, Tyrin was visited by Jacen Cavill, who tempted the Umbaran to join him and his Sith Legion. The end goal was to coup the current government and reinstate a Sith triumvirate. Tyrin accepted the offer and took his Lucrehulk to Hoth where he would meet with like-minded traitors. It was never to be, as they were sold out by another attendee. Ultimately, Tyrin was able to escape the treason charges by returning to Sith space and taking up a post as governor of Raxus Prime.

He took a liking to his position as governor, fairly and justly administrating the Raxus system for a few years. During this time he was involved in several antics, such as kidnapping, blackmail, and trying to get into the pants of his Imperial Intelligence liason, Natasi Fortan. During this time, the Empire began to crumble. After Roche, there was a gap in power, resulting in Voracitos becoming Emperor. Tyrin got it in his mind that he should overthrow the Emperor and crown himself.

Tyrin did indeed overthrow Voracitos in a rather dull coup that no one really liked. Once in power, the newly crowned Emperor immediately had to contend with a Republic invasion of Metalorn. That is, just after appointing the likes of Darth Vornskr to a position of power over a third of Sith Space, alongside Cameron Centurion and some other nobody no one really cares about.

In an Empire that had been in turmoil and uncertainty for so long, it seemed apparent that this new upstart would lose the battle and the Empire's fate would be sealed.

No such luck.

In a miraculous turn of events, the Empire was able to defeat the Republic invasion and retain control of the planet. War crimes perpetrated by the Republic military soured the Republic's appetite for war. Capitalizing on this, Tyrin was able to secure the signing of a peace treaty with the Republic's Chancellor, Aleidis Ijet. The conflict that had promised to shape the galaxy ended prematurely, and star peace reigned once again.

The majority of Tyrin's reign was spent consolidating power and keeping people in line. Internal reforms were rife. His regime faced several threats, including a galaxy that seemed entirely aligned against him. As time wore on, however, the Republic axis gave way for an Imperial one. This much was owed to the rising Confederacy of Independent Systems, led by Genesis Rostu and the decay of the Republic and the Protectorate. For a while, things seemed to be fine.

Notable events of the Ardik Administration include the abolition of commercial slavery in the Empire, an aid mission to Togoria, and the sacking of the capital planet of the Galactic Imperium.

However, Mikhail Shorn would once again strike in the way he usually did. Leading a faction of discontent Sith, he challenged the incumbent Emperor to a duel. Tyrin fought as cowardly and with little honor as possible, but was defeated nonetheless. Humiliated, Tyrin abdicated the throne and fled the scene of the battle. Shorn subsequently appointed Dranok Lussk, who is now known as Darth Arcis.

Following his defeat, Tyrin vanished from the galaxy at large. Then he resurfaced as Darth Janus and became a well-entrenched bureaucrat on Coruscant, using his influence and bureaucratic clot to establish a department geared solely towards helping the underclasses. This brand of "help" generally comes forcefully and involves abducting and rehabilitating the destitute homelessness of Coruscant's under levels. As the One Sith gained traction, he decided on a better name- Darth Adekos, and started making more prominent contributions to the One Sith effort.

Darth Adekos was seen on both Kashyyk and Prakith, doing battle against the forces of the Republic. He was ultimately defeated in both of those campaigns, but went on to contribute more helpfully later on. During the Netherworld Crisis, he led campaigns to lay claim to the worlds of Balmorra, Neimoidia, and Anaxes. There were several other worlds that, although he did not lead the conquest of, Darth Adekos contributed to- such as Kuat. Later on, he acted as the prosecutor in the trial of an innocuous rabble-rousing traitor to the One Sith cause.

This stint with the One Sith was never to last. Eventually Darth Adekos grew irritated with the One Sith employment of Yuuzhan Vong, their poor military conduct, and tendency to nationalize important industries or have them monopolized by the Titan Corporation. For this reason, he dropped his "Darth" title and threw in his lot with the resurgent Techno Union- an alliance of corporate powers rising to prominence once again in the Outer Rim. Now, ostensibly, Adekos serves the Obsidian Order. But he can be often be found acting independently, usually in search of knowledge or artifacts, or rendering aid on the battlefield to causes that he favors.

Years later, the failing state of affairs in the Techno Union led him to resign from the Obsidian Order. By that time, the Yuuzhan-Vong had left the One Sith to pursue their own destiny. Adekos thusly had no problem with returning to them. He was spotted at several military engagements as the One Sith expanded their domain. Usually he did not command any battles or lead any meaningful charges. Rather, he was preoccupied with looting. By far his most notable theft during this period was that of Onderon's physical throne and all the gold bullion kept in the palace vaults.

The going was good, but good things never last. A disgruntled Sith, Darth Mephirium, launched a populist coup against the Dark Lord of the One Sith. Adekos was among the few loyalists to make their presence known in the palace to fight against the usurpers. Quickly realizing the odds were stacked against them, Darth Adekos did what he does best: flee. He abandoned his loyalist comrades to his fate and fled towards Pentastar Alignment space. It was here he would eventually collude with Darth Carach and Darth Orcus, two of his more reliable allies.

They resolved that the new regime was weak. That the One Sith were failing and not long for this existence. It was time for something knew. Together, the three Sith Lords pooled their respective expertise to found the Sith Triumvirate. Originally they intended to establish themselves on the worlds of Yaga Minor and its neighbors, but relations quickly turned sour with local Imperial Warlords. Another opportunity was found on the ancient world of Ruusan.

Marshaling their forces, the Triumvirate attempted to wrest control of the system from the Techno Union.

Personality:

Bitter, cynical, and all too prone to insulting commentary, Darth Adekos is rarely a welcome companion among the foreboding types. Despite this, he considers himself a consummate professional: meticulous and thorough, calm and collected. The way of the Dark Side may be to harness one's emotions of hatred and ambition, but that is hardly an excuse to prowl around, frothing at the mouth and beating up underlings. The acme of a masterful Sith is not raw power, but how closely one can check their worse impulses. And at that, Adekos considers himself the best.

But for all that, Adekos is still not beneath his biases. He tends to favor the company of aristocracy and other moneyed individuals - people of good breeding and culture, manners and etiquette. He has, after all, acquired a taste for the finer things in life himself. Adekos is also an ardent materialist - The Force is not a mystical entity beyond study. It can be scientifically quantified and, therefore, it should be. The way forward in the galaxy is through the continuing advancement of technology.

And to that end, he is an ardent enemy of the Yuuzhan-Vong and similar luddite factions, particularly those opposed to the Force. Adekos considers himself a champion of civilization, and organizations that predicate themselves on the sowing of chaos and the dismantlement of hierarchies are similarly his enemy.

Lightsaber Form:

Adekos cannot be said to truly adhere to one form or another, instead picking and choosing a style of his own. To this end, some would consider him something of a Niman specialist, but that's more or less up to them,

Adekos' form is mostly rooted in defense and employs elements of Soresu and Makashi in doing so. His form is largely defense oriented, focused on avoiding contact with the enemy where possible, deflecting and blocking only where necessary. He draws mostly on his training in Soresu in that regard, but clearly favors the elegant economy of motion offered by Makashi. Adekos takes special delight in deflecting blaster bolts back into those who fire them, and appears to have gotten quite skilled in the practice over the years.
