Description: As an Ancient Sith Talisman created by the Sith Sorcerors of Old, at the time Malphas had thought it a good idea to take from the tomb that Vodal Kreesh's servants were stored in, specifically what happened to be a specified as a 'Shield of Athiss.' Unknowingly to the young Sith Apprentice when he had found it, it hadn't meant to the people who were within the coffin's in the room, but rather the object that had been stored on the shelf, hidden were it not for the force sense that he employed to find it.

Once he realized what it was after Darth Banshee, the Sith Knight who had brought him there to be a 'cataloguer' had tried to fire a blaster bolt at him, it simply dissipated in the space between them, and finally disappeared completely just before it had struck the Sith Pureblood's leg. When he had returned to the Imperial Palace on Coruscant, he realized it was a Sith Talisman, a Shield Talisman to be exact and an ancient one too that he had found on Athiss. He soon reasoned that it's ability to protect him was some form of Tutaminis, or something to that effect.

Whether it was or wasn't has yet to be seen with more tampering, but until then, the now Sith Knight wears it at all times underneath his cloak and resting on the chest piece of his armour. Whenever he has need of it he grasps it and lets it do it's work of protecting him. Although it takes his toll on him every few days when he adds more to the reservoir of power that is stored within.

He soon realized that the shield that had been formed when he had been attacked by the... Somewhat irritating Sith Knight that it only absorbed as much power from the blaster bolt as possible before it had ran completely dry. It had done so simply because, once researching more and realizing things, that the shield could only be as powerful as the amount of energy, or as strong as the user's regular shield.

Due to the aforementioned weakness, if the user was to be encountered by a stronger force user, or was simply overwhelmed with energy, the energy that would be stored within would be drained relatively quickly, (depending on how many attacks are coming at the same time, or how much energy is being sent) and quite possibly break.

After a significant amount of time meditating upon the dark side of the Force and adding his power to the depleted amulet, at 'full' power the user itself would be able to shield themselves against at most five heavy strikes, depending upon the Form used, and the user themselves (weight, height, positioning /leverage). Lightsaber strikes are capable of being stopped or slowed depending upon the strength delivered due to the amulet itself acting similar to a force barrier. A single thermal detonator would be able to be absorbed to some degree, but shrapnel, heat, and the shockwave itself would still deliver second and third degree burns, depending upon the range of the blast (1-5 meters.)

Under fire by blasters, the user would be protected by at least fifteen bolts.

[OOC Note: There's not enough information on the actual wookieepedia page, so I figured that I may as well add some stuff from Malphas's view and how he figured how it works. I had left that part off-screen and focused more on the actual retrieval in the development thread, but if necessary I can do another dev thread trying to flesh out the Shield Talisman.

I like the idea of elaborating stubs to give more qualifications, but this doesn't clear up a lot for me. I'd prefer that instead of it being based on the user's power it's a set strength, to prevent "I am strong so I take ALL the lightsabers" type of situations from happening. Furthermore I'm going to need you to fill out the armor portion of the template, as this is essentially a really light personal armor.

I wasn't sure what you wanted the Quality to be so I put it at 1 since the talisman itself could be easily broken.

Good. I also need to know in terms of how many blaster bolts/sustained fire/heavy weapons/explosions/lightsabers this thing can handle.

Good. Can it stop or slow lightsabers? It's already strong enough that I'd prefer not, but please clarify in the sub.

Neato. Please don't abuse this too much, if you get reported for it, we'll have to pull 'er back on out and re-review. Remember, you're writing with people, in a collaborative role-play environment. If this is used purely to overpower others in duels. Serve the community as an example of restraint when using an item like this, and work in inventive ways for it to "fail" or become ineffective as you role-play. Perhaps even use it in other technology submissions as a baseline for the evolution of this idea.

Good dev thread, and great idea. All it takes now is a mature role-player handling it, hope you're up to the task!

Approved.
