DESCRIPTION The Dart-class is designed as a light fast fire support vessel for assault operations and escort duty. Its relative speed and maneuverability make it a perfect platform for escorting freighter and larger military vessels as well as acting as a picket for larger fleets. It is also well suited for hit and run attacks on planetary based targets and as a light raider for a larger commerce raiding squadron.

The Dart-class is covered in a standard Alusteel type armor for protection against enemy fire. A standard shield suit consisting of hardened particle and energy shielding cover the vessel.

The Dart-class Corvette has a large engine section at the rear which gives it impressive speed allowing it to outpace most targets and escape when needed. Multiple thruster and repulsor systems improve the maneuverability and atmospheric handling

The main armaments of the Dart-class are geared towards heavy fire support for assault forces planetside. A fast-tracking turret is mounted on the lower prow which is equipped with two turbolaser cannons. This turret has a full three hundred and sixty-degree fire arc but is limited to the ventral arc and can not engage in the dorsal upper arc. Two additional sponson mounted turrets as equipped to either flank of the hull and can each engage targets in their flank arc.
