BIOGRAPHY:
Raised in a family on a world in the Confederacy, young Darlynn worked on her family's farm since her earliest memories, along with two older brothers, and later, a younger brother. Always feeling outside and less than useful given her brothers' greater strength, she was shown less love by her father, a domineering man who terrified her mother. Unwilling to live under his thumb as her mother had done, Darlynn ran away with a young soldier during a brief conflict on their world.
To ease the difficulties with local authorities, with whom her father was well connected, Darlynn contributed her life savings as a dowry, and arranged to marry the young Therax, solving any further legal issues. Though she was unsure if she yet loved the young soldier, he treated her well and was a good and honest and hardworking sort, and in time they came to live on a small farm of their own. Though often lonely in those early years, she came to accept that her husband's work took him away for long stretches, and to trust that he would always return alive.
