• Personality: Calm, generally speaking, which really helps soothe Avel Som's aggression. Rather untrusting of people other than Avel Som, though it's possible to gain his trust if you're a kind person. Unless in active combat, he generally ignores most people, especially those he does not trust.
• Training: Less trained, more semi-sentient and capable of following instructions

• Combat Function: Typically scouting only, providing Avel Som with an aerial view through Force Sight and Telepathy. He is capable of diving and using his large talons to attack or simply remain in the sky and provide crowd control with Wind and Lightning elemental Force abilities. He can also provide healing to himself or others, should it be needed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
While working a brief stint as a scrapper on Jakku, Avel Som encountered an unusually intelligent ebon hawk. The hawk was actual a semi-sentient Force User that could sense Avel Som's own connection to the Force, something he didn't even know he had. Avel Som was asocial and didn't really like to be around other people, which encouraged the hawk to approach him. Avel Som was also naturally gifted in interacting with animals, so the two formed a bond, with the hawk communicating with Avel Som telepathically. Because of the hawk's dark feathers, Avel Som named him Darkwing. Avel Som and Darkwing eventually left Jakku and travelled to Rishi, where they trained together in the use of the Force, Darkwing having an obvious knack for wind and lightning based abilities.
