Description:
When the One Sith fought both the Republic and the Omega Protectorate over the skies of Carida one thing became clear, the need for a new fleet. As soon as it dawned upon the Admirals of the New Empire the Dark Lord set one of this hands onto the task of creating something that would be worthy for the fleets of the One Sith.
Darth Mierin, the Dark Lords oldest and most trusted hand was entreated with the task of finding famed Shipwright Jason Kolyat, the man who was previously responsible for designing ships for the Empire that had long since crumbled. Determined to see her Dark Lords will done, Mierin ventured to an estranged corner of the galaxy, collecting Kolyat from an ancient Imperial outpost, and returning him to Coruscant, where the newly christened Shipyards soon set to work on creating the Shipwrights vision for a powerful set of ships that were more than a match for anything currently in the galaxy.
The Dark Blade Dreadnoughts can only be described as weapons of total war. They were designed, built, and intended for one thing and one thing alone, battle. While many other Ships within the galaxy are designed with a secondary function, such as the Star Destroyers function as an occupation and control ship. The Dark Blades were designed with only war in mind. Their myriad of weapons and their lack of a hangar display this function quite well. Housed within the Black Blades are no troops meant for invasion, no tanks for sieges, and certainly no walkers for prolonged assaults
Inside of its narrow halls and corridors one finds only gunners and crewmen ready to serve their function. Hundreds of astromech droids roam the halls in service as repair droids, while an equal number of crewmembers regulate power output to the dozens of weapon systems upon the Dark Blade Dreadnoughts. The bridge sits in the center of the ship, nestled away safely within mountains of durasteel, being fed information from hundreds of cameras and an advanced sensor array. Every system within the ship is designed and geared for battle, every operation and system within the ship is meant utterly for war.
Though it has no Hangar, it's powerful reflective flak canons and its heavy turbo-lasers ensure that most targets never make it close enough to even scratch the surface of its thrice powerful shielding. The Dark Blades are ships meant for an all out assault on the enemy fleet and they require heavy support vessels in order to function as they are supposed to. Carriers and other escort craft most often accompany these powerful engines of war into battle, supporting the ship with fighters and small arms fire while the Dark Blade engages the heavier elements of the enemy fleet.
Due to the Omega Event, this vessel is no longer available icly or oocly in any manner unless acquisitioned by Intergalactic Solutions directly. Vessels may be purchased and owned as per Major Factions and Minor faction's ship ownership limits.
