STRENGTHS
An Elegant Weapon: A lightsaber is a lightsaber. It is very good at cutting through a lot of substances and materials with frightening ease.
For A More Civilized Age: Pontite Lens can aid the user in remaining cool, calm and collected, both mentally and physically
Booming Blade: The Dragite Gem causes the blade to produce a sonic shock wave when it comes in contact with resistance, potentially disorientating a would be opponent.
Wetwork: Fully waterproofed and can function underwater should the need arise.
Use The Force: Features a hidden activation sequence that can only be utilized by someone versed in the fine art of telekinesis and an understanding of the saber’s construction.
Joybuzzer: A specialised trap incorporated directly into the grip produces a high yield electric shock to anyone attempting to activate the saber in a conventional way.
WEAKNESSES
Lights Out: Cortosis can temporarily short out the blade.
Obvious Limitations: Funnily enough, lightsaber resistant materials seem to be just that - lightsaber resistant. Some require more effort, while others are simply beyond the pale of this weapon’s capabilities.
Real Humdinger: While nearly all Lightsabers produce a distinct hum, Danae’s decision to use dragite gem as her focusing crystal means hers is particularly loud. Almost to the point where a potentially stealthy approach becomes impossible while the saber is activated.
Out of Sequence: Cannot be activated while in areas of force nullification. These areas do not affect the saber if it is already ignited, however.
Buzzkill: While that trap is a great idea to deter thieves, it can make for awkward later conversations with any allies attempting to use the saber in a pinch.
DESCRIPTION
Having previously used one of her Master’s older sabers during her tenure as a padawan learner, this new lightsaber was designed and constructed to mark Danae Navarris’ ascent into the lofty ranks of Jedi Knight. Much like the promotion itself, it very much appears to be a work in progress and still doesn’t quite seem to feel quite right just yet.
The waterproof housing is clearly a mixture of the old with the new, incorporating the more spartan design elements used in her former master’s aforementioned saber in the form of a darkened durite grip bridging the more stylish engraved designs of the songsteel casing that represent her gradual emergence and the white, almost bone like wood of the Silveroak that serve as stand-in representation for the wild, untamed pale forests where her tale began. Osmium melted from jewelry she had received in her youth serves as an accent and to pick out a few finer details here and there. Most notably the false activation stud, which exemplifies definitely more her quirky sense of humor than anything her more dour master would have approved of, with the true ignition sequence being hidden from view and only accessible via the force.
When ignited, the blade itself is a brilliant white affair. A pontite lens taken from the old saber matched against the rare dragite gem she acquired during a diplomatic mission to M’haeli. The latter providing the saber with its extremely distinctive hum and innate sonic capabilities.
