Approved Species Dalek Hands

Status
Not open for further replies.
Name: Dalek Hands
Designation: Non-sentient
Homeworld: N/a, donors are from Kad V
Language: N/a
Average height of adults: Variable, depends on limb length needing replacement
Skin color: Stark Black to Ashen
Hair color: N/a, not visible
Breathes: Metabolically exchanges gasses parasitically from host, or from unfortunate victims being eaten.
Strengths:
  • Easily Introduced: Unlike most biological implants, Dalek Hands generally have a higher immune system than the creature it is being attached to, and its flesh is hyper flexible with the ability to bind with other tissue structures naturally, thus reducing bodily rejection to minimal or nil. Also, as a parasite, it tends to ignore whether or not the body wants to reject it or not, but eventually it will meld with the user's flesh until the immune systems begin to work in tangent with each other and force acceptance. In addition, other biots can easily be enveloped by the many tendrils of the hand, though there is an upper limit to how many things can conceivably be introduced into the arm system, based on the basic physics of it not being of infinite space, and each introduced thing increases its mass.
  • Promotes Regenerative Properties: When combined with creatures with any regenerative properties beyond ordinary healing or scarring, the flexible flesh allows a medium in which lost limbs may grow within the replacement, but will also incorporate itself into the regenerated limb. (i.e., bones will grow within the Dalek Hand, and not disrupt the Dalek Hands presence, and any muscle tissue being regenerated around the bone will be hybridized with the existing Dalek flesh). When coupled with non-regenerative species, the biot itself still holds fairly potent regenerative properties of its own, though it usually takes a few days to recover from severe damage. Additionally, the host can control when and how the Hand separates and combines its tendrils over an extended period of time (though separation can take only moments, albeit painfully).
  • Dearth of Organ Systems: With the exception of a modified digestive tract, through vongforming the biot replacement has been voided of the critical weakness of its donor species: the Kadian Dalek Beasts, and their vulnerable organ sacs. This also conserves space in the biot replacement.
  • Acid Touch: As was said previously, all but the Kadian Dalek Beasts complicated stomach systems have been removed, which means this creature can produce saliva that can burn up most organic substances on contact for easier digestion. The corrosive acid can also quite easily tarnish weapons and armor and other such materials, making it an effective weapon when in use.
  • Moderate Force Resistance: Due to Vongforming, any attempt to mentally influence the creatures will be a fruitless task. Also, unless hybridizes with regenerated limb, it is difficult to directly influence the biot through the force. Hybridization usually takes a year to begin in most regenerative capable species.
Weaknesses:
  • Orbalisk Syndrome: Due to the Hand being its own organism, with the inherited genome sequenced instinct to envelope objects, the Dalek Hand will try to consume the host whole over time. Though this can be dealt with by painfully removing the excessive tissue over long periods of time. If left rampant for too long, it may begin hybridizing and surfacing in undesirable and intrusive locations until it becomes medically infeasible to remove.
  • Nigh Permanent: Once introduced, it becomes EXTREMELY difficult to remove. This is due to the hybridization of tissue structures mingling deep into the host's flesh beyond the point of replacement, and becomes a complete part of the host. In order to remove the structure totally from the body, it would require some sort of cleansing nano-machine attuned to remove any trace of Kadian Dalek DNA. If such a measure is not taken, any flesh remaining within the body, will eventually resurface. If the problem becomes persistent, it will become something like cancer, and cause an unimaginable number of medical problems that invariably lead to death.
  • Acid Touch: Although the salivation of the Hand can be moderately controlled for limited amounts of time, the effects of are rarely inactive. This makes it difficult to accomplish delicate tasks where acid would be detrimental to the intended operation attempted. That is not even to mention, that the acid will harm the host as well if misproperly used.
  • Hunger: Like all organisms, this biot has basic needs, but unlike most, it has two options. It can either gain all of its nutrients and gas exchanges directly from the host (decreasing stamina due to decreased gas exchange of host cells, and increasing metabolic requirements), or it can be fed daily meals. It may instinctively attempt to grab on and eat or envelop objects in a hungered state
  • Moderate Force Resistance: Unless the Dalek Hand hybridizes with a regenerated limb, it makes a poor conduit to conduct the force. Even if hybridized, any force power would need to be directed through an exposed portion of regenerated flesh from the host. Hybridization usually takes a year to begin in most regenerative capable species.
Distinctions: Flexible flesh capable of hybridization with host tissues, acidic palm, lack of other organ systems, rampant growth, parasitic, possibly cancerous if not regularly trimmed or improperly removed, stark black, may possess vestigial eyes occasionally.
Average Lifespan: Lifespan of host, minutes if detached some how from host.
Races: Maybe foot variants? (N/a)
Estimated Population: Two attached to Zambrano the Hutt, twelve other specimens exist, though more can be produced directly from Uvek Tar.
Diet: Almost any organic material, with the exception of the most poisonous and perilous toxins in the galaxy.
Communication: Neural link between biot and host
Culture: They have no intelligent culture, but their flesh donors were very territorial as animals, but could be sociable around the one they claim as their master. So, the Hands are especially connected to the Host in a subservient manner that reflects their territorial protectivity, and sociable behavior with their 'Master'. Other than those basic protective instincts, there are many things that interest the hands independent of the host, such asymmetrical, and intricately shaped objects, as well as objects with varying textures, a trait they continue to share with their predecessors.
Technology level: N/a
General behavior: The Dalek Hands behavior is primarily controlled by one of two factors, either its Host directing its actions through a neural link, or hunger causing it to be slightly disobedient. In a hungered state, specific control over the parasite's minutiae systems (such as acid control, or tendril bonding/separating) is lost, though general movement is still accessible. It may instinctively attempt to grab on and eat or envelop objects in a hungered state. If left untrimmed of excessive flesh, and begins to dominate the host's flesh, the parasitic organism will become more and more disobedient until becoming rampant and utterly uncontrollable. It holds no other behavioral patterns.
History: After the successful capture of Uvek Tar, a One Sith defector Vong Mastershaper that had been in exile on Kad V, experimenting with Kadian Dalek Beast biology for unique projects of his own. However, upon his capture his projects were taken over by the Directory in order to surgically repair their rampant Warlord, Zambrano the Hutt, who had lost his sight and arms in an Acolyte tournament in One Sith space. Possessing primitive or improper tools for effective shaping, the highly flexible flesh of Kadian Dalek Beasts proved to be an excellent medium to produce quite an interesting arrangement of biological structures without extensive use of outside manipulation.

That task of creating a biot replacement through the flesh though wouldn't come without its quirks, among them an inability to curb its tendency to become one with the host totally and utterly with the threat of overwhelming the host body in a cancerous fashion. Another of these quirks, was leaving behind the digestive tract of the creature, in order to prevent it from too powerfully draining the host. It would take several days of shaping, and subsequent testing on live specimens, before the Directory was satisfied with the surgeon's result, despite his utter repulsion for working with a sith again, against his will.

In essence, the vongforming the Kadian Dalek Beast Flesh resulted in an organless mindless Dalek connected to a host through a neural link, hosting a variety of properties that made it both extremely useful but equally dangerous to possess. It was truly the perfect match for the Warlord, and in addition added another layer of horror to the beast he had become, due to the sickly looking appendages having an identical hue to his own skin, making it seem that these Hands were naturally occurring. This is made even more so, when hybridization eventually occurs, and the flesh of the two mingle to make one homogenous appendage.

Now with the ability to both feel, as well as deliver pain to his subjects, the Warlords paranoia ceased (along with his renewed ability to see), and the crisis had been averted by the Directory. Immediately after this success, Uvek Tar was imprisoned until he would be needed again for any variety of uses.

Warlord Zambrano the Hutt, had returned to active duty.
Notable Player-Characters: N/a
Intent: To create interesting replacement arms for Zambrano the Hutt, and anyone else who should find them interesting to possess.

Culture is a required field. Please feel free to add something that makes them unique and specific to their race, their cultural behaviors, religion and so on. Don't forget to add in the Gulag plague and how it affected this species. When you ddd that in just @mention me and we'll get on with the review.

Culture is still required. Can't be left blank. Even if you just put a blurb in connecting it to the other species, still need something in there. Doesn't have to be super in-depth given this is just a prosthetic. Just gotta fill it in with something, please.
