APPEARANCE:
Tall and beautiful in appearance like most of his kind yet Daios is pale and dead looking reminding him to be akin to the undead looking monsters The Sith Empire produce called The Penitent. Yet his eyes and everything else about him look so alive, he is strong physically and is honed by the passing of the ages with scars over his body.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born to the Than family of the city inside the fog Daios was raised and born among his people as one of them and for a century nothing changed in him that would make him disloyal to them. He cared for the trees far to the lake, guarding the southernmost point of the lake and it's gardens. He tended to the great and never once sent them into battle for defense, peace reigned for so long inside the fog yet it was the job of Daios to venture outside it with the Everwatchers and patrol outside it nonetheless.
Strong and faithful to the frostvatn, quick with bow and blade and married to Esilda the love of his still young life, Daios lived a peaceful and bountiful life of preserving nature and defending his home. It was only in his latter years that he began to question the reasoning of The Lady of the Lake and her spouse, wondering and protesting aloud their decision to keep their woodland realm and the people inside it a secret, his desire to explore and see what was beyond the mist of the fog guiding his words, yet his protests went unheeded and his position as everwatcher taken when he refused to chance his stance.
He was not alone, others inside the fog also wished to see what was beyond yet all together they were silenced and overruled by the nobility and the Lady herself. Daios' father was a warden of the northernmost forests keeping the groves with his mother and brother, they too sought to discourage him and those who also believed in him from pursuing this venture forward before actions had to be taken to never allow them to leave. This is when Daios came to his form of thinking, the reason he gave to the stagnation of his people as he saw it, it was The Lake and it's Lady, Daios believed she sought to keep them here to enslave them forever by keeping them from the outside world.
Wise and older he kept this to himself and appeared outwardly to accept the wishes of his people and his elders disbanding any sort of political group that sought to escape, yet secretly he formed an order called "The Sons of the Black Water" Their secrecy had to be so absolute as to survive the scrutiny of the life inside the fog where The Lady of the Lake had eyes and ears everywhere. Using his knowledge as an Ex-Everwatcher and his fellow co-conspirators he began to plan his escape.
His betrothed opted to stay aside from his best tries to get her to see the outside world, Esilda simply could not leave the lake. Dairos swore to return to her and free her and his people from the spell of the fog, so he studied for a hundred years. Endlessly and without sleep for entire lunar cycles he toiled away in the scrips and old masters to learn how to dispel the fog and become more powerful through "Magic", his people's term for The Force. What he did not know is that his desires, his power and his new found spells were like a discordant note in a masterful melody that was The Lake of Avelorn.
The Lady of the Lake herself sent for him and the powers that she used were the everwatchers that he himself once was a part of. This in his mind confirmed that finally she had caught him and sought to kill him before he escaped and knew the truth. Daios did not hesitate, he did not shy away from what he knew he had to do. Using the power he had learned and the spells he had perfected as well as the training for a hundred years he had put himself through he cut through his own people without mercy and without restraint.
The everwatchers were the elite of his people yet they had never faced an enemy of their own with this kind of power and never expected it to be Daios himself. With a signal his faithful, the Sons of Black Water carried out the plan they had set in motion a hundred years before, the act triggering a small battle that raged inside the fog. Within the battle Daios and his men, small in number managed to kill the unprepared everwatchers and make their escape through the fog as Daios himself opened it.
In the battle Esilda died, she too was an everwatcher and in her duty she fell to the blade of one of his men, the man himself dying shortly after. The news devastated him, not being able to mourn her at the lake destroyed him even more, blaming himself for her death and The Lady of the Lake. It took him ten years to escape Midvinter being hunted by both his kind and everything else in the frosted world. His escape came at the hands of the most unlikely of visitors, A Sith.
This was Daios' introduction to the two principles of power in the galaxy, it was during a Sith attack on Midvinter long ago. Together they escaped the battle yet only one was to make it to Dromund Kas alive. Daios knew nothing of ships and interstellar travel but he knew of manipulation and the power of the mind, with it he was able to get passage to the world of Voss and then finally into the world of Coruscant during the reign of the Galactic Alliance where he met members of a cult called the Enclave. Thinking them nothing more than religious fanatics he moved on until they referred to the force as "Magic" like his people did in the planet of Mindvinter. After some time in Coruscant and learning from the ways of the Jedi he was quoted as noting it almost identical to the beliefs of his people and as such he wanted to distance himself from that but not so much as he would become blinded and foolish like the Sith he killed on Dromund Kaas. Once again the words of the conclave came to his ears and he made the decision to hear what they had to say.
While in Coruscant he decided to try his hand at contract assassinations where he found he had quite the talent however using the funds from his kills he instead opened a small business off world liking the idea of real estate after one of his collages pitched it to him. All the while he did this, he was with his sons of the Black Sun, always in contact with each other and now finally in Coruscant together in the same complexes and using their skills for murder to establish a financial status of some sort. Once he had enough to buy a ship for his group of Aelvar he set off to find the Convlave finding much more than he bargained for.
He arrived in the Kaikielus system and made his way into the new forming order of the Interstellar Protectorate falling under the jurisdiction of the magisterial and earning membership into the same. Their tests of the elements were fundamental as his species at the simple age of seventy five and furthermore he was more powerful than the usual aspirant. He was granted the title of Magi and sat upon their feasting tables learning their craft that was his own, yet he remained unsatisfied with his role, believing it too weak to see his brothers of the Black Water or to see the Frostvatn again. So he sought a new way, he sought entry into The Edom and through trials of combat and the way of the Jedi, something he had known as a child as very similarly did his people think.
In Edom his training and way of thinking was turned from sorcery into the way of the Jedi and it was in Edom where he had his first real lightsaber. Here he focused on honing his body, finding it very difficult to pass many of the core skills due to his frail nature and weak muscles but that all changed with the Edom. Not only did he pass his final test, because of his already extensive skill in sorcery and now graduating from both schools by the order of The Enclave; He was High Judge of the Edom as his spell and blade bested their greatest and his old age made him the wisest.
