unlucky streak again for the cyborg captain.

The festering scumhole that was Nal Hutta was just the same as the good captain had remembered: a breeding swamp of villainy, deceit and unrest. How fortunate was it, finding herself there again among the rabble that submitted to Hutt rule? Xyl nearly sneered at the thought, shaking free the ill contempt she felt with a slight shake of her head. The thumb of her good hand rested peacefully within her pocket, though the taut cybernetic hand on her right hand hovered expectantly over the blaster pistol hanging loosely upon her hip. She grit her teeth every time a less-than-savory individual threw her a look, knowing full well that taking out an old spacer for creds wasn't exactly uncommon practice in places such as this. Luckily for the cyborg, disquiet was commonplace enough that her own jumpiness would go unnoticed. Most out here in the depths of Hutt Space were fully aware of the likelihood of death that came on a daily basis.

People out here were, opportunistic. That was the harsh reality of life out there in the sticks, long beyond the grasp of any form of civilized government of course. Pirates, mercenaries, bounty hunters, rogues and criminals: the general population, alongside hapless civilians. All in a day's work, she considered, chewing her lip as she rounded the corner into the alleyways.

It was only a quick job, delivering offworld goods and weapons to the native Evo'cii, or at least the ones wily enough to want to stand up to their Hutt dictators. She shrugged; they didn't stand much of a chance to begin with. As long as the pay was good, what would it matter to her in the long run? But, one wrong move and she would be ankle-deep in Hutt slime by night's end. Deep in thought, she cursed beneath her breath as her gaze swiveled upwards. Just a momentary lapse of attention and her shoulder had brushed against a wary stranger...
