HISTORICAL INFORMATION
During the Sith Order's war against the Rimward Trade League, a mercenary contingent under the droid warlord Helix came under fire from clone forces belonging to
Nathan Bloodscrawl
. In one of the most horrific and destructive battles of the war, the two sides butchered one another by the thousands with mechanized precision. The Fett clones' legendary tenacity clashed with Helix's nightmarish chemical weapons and advanced droid models, resulting in destruction on a wide scale.
Eventually, the droids got the worst of it. The mercs were near-eradicated, and their remnants beat a hasty retreat from the field. Not one reached the Jedi Temple.
Unfortunately for the local biosphere, the area around the now-ruined temple is all but uninhabitable. X16 munitions were used in enormous quantities as the battle escalated, scouring hundreds of square kilometers clean of life. What's more, the defending clones made devastatingly effective use of concealed explosives, in some cases enough so to drastically reshape the local topography.
The resultant black slash-scar across the land can be seen from orbit.
The area is now an arid, canyon-scarred desert, and one with sky-high lingering radiation. Aside from the rads, many other dangers lurk in the dunes, from hideously mutated wildlife to partly-active battle droids to unexploded ordnance. Nonetheless, a few skilled explorers and scavengers have managed to penetrate the wastes' depths in search of valuable battlefield salvage. Most never come back.
