SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Made from fine handwoven glistaweb, the diaphanous dress holds a sheer grey hue and is covered in filigree-patterned spun gold fibers and leafing, causing the garment to look and feel exceptionally light and airy, yet regal and elegant all the same. The tantalizing silhouette through the sheer material reflecting Dagata’s relaxed ideals regarding physical beauty, modesty, and sexuality, while the presence of the gold suggests the air of nobility, power, and timelessness.
  • Glistaweb, woven together with threads of phrik and cortosis (giving it a silvery grey sheen) in this manner – a secret closely-guarded within the House of Duralis – maximizes the material’s natural protective qualities, augmented even further by Segroth Materials Corporation’s PGA Coating and Malreaux Lacquer, making it extremely resilient against both EMP/Ion threats and attacks by energy weapons such as blasters and lightsabers, or through bladed weapons, including vibroblades.
  • Special alchemy and Dathomirian techniques give it protective properties against extreme temperatures, moisture, and make it impossible to stain or dull or carry any odor.
STRENGTHS:
  • Extreme protection against blasters (and other plasma type energy weapons), bladed weapons, and EMP/Ion damage, and against lightsabers having the added effects of the cortosis to short out most blades.
  • Extremely comfortable to wear in most any weather and even in extreme temperatures (-40-110 standard degrees), and resistant to moisture, water, odors and stains, and even low-level resistance to acid and other corrosive substances.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Provides no defense whatsoever against sonic attacks, Force abilities, or kinetic damage.
  • Long train and low hemline make movement less than ideal for particularly athletic activities, meaning running, swimming, jumping, or similar actions may be inhibited or more difficult to perform.
DESCRIPTION
This dress, originally made by the Sullustan tailor who founded the House of Duralis, is nearly five centuries' old. An heirloom, passed on since the days of Shalya Mazah, who first wore it to the Grand Ball celebrating Dagata's 350th anniversary, it has been resized and fitted perfectly for the current Baroness, Visanj T'shkali. Ornate and delicate, slinky yet flowing, this inviting garment is more than a testament to Dagatan ideals and prosperity. Highly symbolic in nature, it also holds the very practical qualities of offering considerable protection to Dagata's "First Daughter", in the form of extreme resilience against blaster, bladed weapons, lightsabers, EMP and ion threats, and even against elemental damage and conditions. Made from glistaweb, gold, phrik, and cortosis, the cost to make such a garment - and to hire tailors skilled enough to do so - is more than most can imagine. Although this dress was a gift to Shalya, it is said that its cost would be roughly equal to the pricetag of a small, new star destroyer. The secret to hand-weaving metals and silks in this manner is an ancient Sullustan craft, known to but perhaps a dozen practicing weaver clans across the galaxy. In every way, this unique, beautiful, and practical gown represents the spirit of Dagata: Free and uninhibited, elegant and delicate, yet quietly poised always for war to protect those it loves, and the price of it enough to bring lesser souls to ruin.
