Daelil was born on the Fondor Shipyards, one child among hundreds in the servitude of the shipyards masters. It was not public knowledge that indentured workers existed at the Fondor Shipyards, and the Shipyard owners themselves claimed that their entire staff were free working men and women. The true truth of the matter though was that Fondor Shipyard agents traveled the galaxy, each one seeking out specialists and menials in economic despair or need. In return for clearing their debts for them, all the Shipyards asked for was a binding contract that sentenced three generations of that family to work before they could eventually be free once again. For many, including Daelil's parents, this was the only option left to them. Daelil spent the first nineteen years of his life as a worker for the Shipyards, the second generation of his family to do so, and with no hope of potential escape or freedom. Every day was spent learning skills he would need to be a productive, unpaid worker for the rest of his life, with precious little in the way of free time or friendships. The only people he could turn to was his own family, and the few other kids assigned to his work group. He formed strong bonds with all of them, and he became the ring leader, looking out for all those in his work gang. The simple schedule to which Daelil lived his entire life was upended when his family was moved from one division to another. A rather simple bureaucratic move from the higher ups, it amounted to Daelil's entire world being torn up from around him. He lost all his friends, the connections he had made, and the security of at least knowing he could rely on the people next to him to watch his back. To make matters even worse, the overseer in charge of the new division was xenophobic, and the moment Daelil and his family arrived, they were forced to endure torment and harassment from the rest of their peers, all with the encouragement and protection from their actions by the overseer. One day, Daelil decided he had had enough. The overseer was tormenting his mother, and did not see the enraged Daelil approach. In the brief struggle that followed, Daelil managed to pick up and throw the overseer through a nearby wall. Everyone present, Daelil himself, were shocked at the simple act. Security quickly stormed the room and arrested Daelil, giving him a solid beating as he was dragged into a holding cell, where he would await punishment for his crimes. At first, he hoped it would be a simple matter, but then it was revealed to the youth that the overseer was blood cousins with one of the Fondor Shipyards owners. The simple attack had been filed into a grand charge against the youth, and he now faces charges laid against him that are false, but with no way of stopping them...
