The DA-1 foregoes the expense of a shield generator and complex construct for a cheaper and less superior combat droid when compared to other modern or ancient variations of the Destroyer Droid. This unit features a light durasteel armor plating that is no replacement for deflector shields but with a lack of the sophisticated mechanisms in the original droideka design and this armor the DA-1 is approximately half of the speed of the original droideka design; be it in walking or wheel form.[/SIZE]
