SPECIAL FEATURES
- The D-37 Haymaker has two ammo feeds. One in the grip which houses the power cells for the blaster rounds. The other is in a slide like compartment located in the receiver housing for a gas canister.
- The housing for the gas canister feeds into the disruptor function.
- Modular into a Blaster Rifle for medium range, or a sniper for long range.
- The D-37 had the bonuses of working as both blaster and high output disruptor pistol, the disruptor not losing power regardless of which modulation it's in.
- Can be modded into a rifle or sniper, giving it more range and stability respectively
- The modular systems are based on the ones provided for the A-180, however they are even more streamlined for concealment making them compact enough to conceal in a pack.
- The disruptor function is a one shot menace. If it misses or hits armor with high enough protection, then it's literally gassed out, the user will need to interchange gas canisters before firing again.
- Having two different ammo types requires twice the load, causing the user to decide to between balancing ammo, or bringing more of one than the other.
- While modular, the blaster rounds still revolve around the weapons base function and more importantly it's damage falloff as a pistol. With the blaster function providing high damage as a pistol, average as a rifle, and low as a sniper.(disruptor damage is consistent regardless of Mod)
Vyn had his A-180 longer than he could remember, but it never packed the punch he would have liked it too, having a bit of a history tinkering with weapons and devices that sit outside the norms, he began working on the D-37. He wanted to keep the functionality and modularity that his A-180 provided, but add a bit more OOMPH to the pistol without requiring it to rely on the sniper modification. Since his fighting style mostly complemented short or hand to hand engagements, and only rarely did he use the sniper function.
So he built this, a pistol capable of modularity though it looses it's punch at longer ranges, it increases accuracy. This is offset by the disruptor rounds, the weapon empties a gas canister for a single shot, yet when firing at distances only a sniper could reach it will keep that same lovely disintegration only provided by a disruptor. It has the added bonus of the modular parts being easier to conceal since they don't increase the weapons damage output.
