- Break Open Reload System: In order to reload the Model 311’s power cell one has to thumb a hinge release that flips the front half of the carbine down where upon the spent power cell is automatically ejected so a fresh one can be inserted
- Ambidextrous Controls: In an effort to make the use of the Model 311 seamless for all types of shooters the controls on it are fully ambidextrous
- Fire Modes: The Model 311 has three different fires modes it can switched between
- Stutter Fire: This mode fires each barrel consecutively, letting the shooter lay a relatively consistent pattern of fire
- Double Fire: This mode fires each barrel simultaneously, allowing the shooter to put double the firepower on target
- Stun Bolt Setting: A stun bolt setting was included in the Model 311 to allow users that needed a non-lethal take down, such as bounty hunters, to take their targets alive
- Give em Both Barrels: The Model 311 is capable of firing two bolts simultaneously, letting the shooter lay down a good amount of firepower and making the 311 even more deadly in a close range fight
- Drawing More Power: Due to the Model 311 being essentially two blaster carbines in one it draws more power from a single power cell than normal
- No Sights or Stock: The Model 311 is devoid of a stock or any sort of sighting system and suffers from a lack of range
Introduced by Czerka Arms in 853 ABY the Model 311 Double Barrel Blaster Carbine was an attempt by Czerka to create a blaster carbine that could double the firepower of an individual, the solution to this? Simple but two blaster carbines together and create the Model 311.
Depending on who you asked they achieved this but sacrificed accuracy for this power and produced a middling weapon that was not very successful in its initial production run despite Czerka producing tens of thousands and marketing it heavily.
It wouldn’t be for a few decades after this when the Model 311 became much more popular than it had originally been. This rise in popularity was two fold, first being the massively reduced cost making it available to a wider customer base and second being its ease of modification.
These two factors led the Model 311 to becoming popular with pirates, mercenaries and criminals who bought them cheap from the black market and began to modify them with a wide variety of parts, some legal but many more illegal, and would either sell them for a mark up or use them, marking a more popular time for the 311.
