DESCRIPTION

In an effort to fulfill its obligation to the Techno Union, as well as provide the militant market with yet another competitive firearm, Czerka Arms dived into the pages of history. Particularly, the corporation did extensive research on the subject of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' earlier incarnation and came upon the archaic Geonosian Sonic Blaster. With this ancient, yet powerful, weapon fueling their inspiration, the designers of Czerka Arms set forth to create a new breed of sonic armament fit for modern, military forces. Through collaboration with Blas-Tech Industries, the CZ-839 Sonic Carbine was born.

To begin, the CZ-839 Sonic Carbine possessive a multitude of similarities with the weapon which inspired its creation. First amongst these are the main, internal components; whose sizes and proportions were modified in order to better accommodate a primarily humanoid market. These components, housed in a layer of durasteel, allow the weapon to fire spheres of condensed sonic energy which are encased within a containment field. As demonstrated by the weapon's ancestor, the rupture of these spheres, whether by colliding with a solid object or otherwise being impacted by energy, results in their explosion into a contained, omnidirectional blast. These blasts are known to inflict immense harm upon the internal organs of living targets in addition to boasting the strength to cause considerable damage to inanimate objects.

However, while both the CZ-839 Sonic Carbine and the Geonosian Sonic Blaster fire the same projectiles, there are differences in size, range, and firing rate. Due to the fact that the CZ-839 is a carbine, the diameter of the sonic spheres fired by it are smaller than those launched by the ancient armament; thereby leading to a diminished destructive potential in comparison. However, despite this glaring difference in power, these sonic spheres can still rupture internal organs, break through stone, and cannot be reflected/deflected/otherwise defended against by a lightsaber. Power differences aside, the CZ-839 Sonic Carbine enjoys a slightly greater range due to the method of its construction, in addition to a heightened fire rate. However, this does not mean that the weapon is not without its shortcomings and challenges.

To begin, the weapon is powered by the famous Plug-N-Fire cells created by Blas-Tech Industries, thereby giving its owners the ability to reload with moderate ease. Yet, despite the impressive power of the cells, the CZ-839 tends to be an energy guzzler and can only fire thirty rounds before requiring a reload. While this number matches its Geonosian ancestor, it pales in comparison to modern armaments and thereby puts the owner in harm's way several times during an engagement; simply to reload. Another drawback of the weapon is the recoil that accompanies pulling the trigger. In comparison to the average blaster or slugthrower, the recoil which accompanies the CZ-839's firing is rather jarring an effects the total accuracy of the weapon. While this is somewhat addressed by the providing of an optional counterweight to customers, the weapon's recoil requires strong hands and diligence in order to make each shot count; whereas even a child can pick up a blaster or slugthrower and end a life.

However, as a whole, the CZ-839 Sonic Carbine is poised to be a unique and effective addition to any militant individual's arsenal.

Lots-o-good work went into this.

What worries me about this is that... I can't find anything wrong with it, you've given it some pretty good strengths and weaknesses, even made it accessible to people you see fit (definitely keep it out of the hands of everyone) but like a man said to me when I made a sonic weapon: Abuse and suffer.

Approved, awaiting secondary approval.

I've been asked to coach the new tech judges and look over their decisions. Nice work, Adenn. Tyri, I've only got one issue here. Your rate of fire, for a weapon this size, is unbalanced. 240/minute is four shots a second for what's fundamentally a really nasty gun. Find me some canon backup or reduce, plz.
