STRENGTHS
  • Stronger than Flesh: The first goal of the Nyon Pass Corporation when designing a new form of Synthflesh was: How do we make this stronger? The answer was simple: Armorweave, metal, and electronics. Cyn-flesh is created from a combination of these alloys and components which has created something that is significantly stronger, or at least more resistant, than the galactic equivalent. This combination of alloys and metals has allowed for the Cyn-Flesh to give more protection than any type of flesh and blood could ever. Improved resistance to energy-based weapons, less prone to bruising and a lessened impact of kinetic damage, not to mention an increased capacity to survive certain hazardous weather conditions such as blizzards.
  • Oh Flesh, Repair Thynself: Now the problem with Synsflesh would always be repairing it. Have a skin of metal that gets damaged? Too bad, get a new set. Cyn-flesh gets rid of this inherent vulnerability. With the addition of a Laminanium alloy, the skin can, effectively, repair itself under extreme circumstances. The skin can fix surface wounds primarily, not so much as deeper tissue wounds such as internal bleeding [yet]. Surface cuts, scratches, burns, and the like can repair themselves which can help the user to remain in a fight longer.
  • Force Lightning no More: Copper faraday cages have always interested the Nyon Pass Corporation. The capability to effectively nullify force lightning is an appetizing idea, one that, of course, made way into the Cyn-flesh Project. This faraday cage, like many seen across the galaxy, allow for Force Lightning to be spread out and distributed across the individual. This "spreading out" means that Force Lightning is far less effective as the damage can be more evenly spread out, decreasing overall surface damage and weakening individual bolts into nothingness.
  • Burn me Plenty: With an increase in metal alloy and an increase in sensitive electronic components, special attention was paid to certain elemental resistances... such as fire. Components used in Cyn-flesh were prone to overheating in the early stages of development when put under extreme stress and they easily melted under intense heat, the likes of which would be found on battlefields. This led to a focus on "fire support" which allows for the Cyn-flesh to brush off intense flames and fire as though they were gentle breezes. Though, prolonged exposure to flames, such as from a flamethrower, will damage the flesh.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP Weaponry: Like any electrical system, Cyn-flesh has a vulnerability to EMP weapons. This is especially troublesome for something that seeks to mimic Synthflesh. Since Cyn-flesh is directly connected to nerve ends, blood, and vulnerable tissue, this makes EMP weapons especially effective and dangerous as it can lead to deep internal injuries that can only be healed through professional medical help. For all of the glory of surface healing, the internal healing is what is important.
  • Potential to Overload: With a reliance on electrical systems and components alongside a faraday cage, Cyn-flesh has the capacity to... overload. While it is rare, the flesh can effectively short-circuit and fry numerous nerve endings if the proper precautions are not taken. This can lead to fried nerve endings, immense pain, and a general hatred of all Nyon Pass products: a most unwelcome surprise. Overall, this can greatly weaken an individual and even damage the texture sensors in the Cyn-flesh... effectively cutting off the sense of "Touch".
  • Sonic Weaponry: Sonic weaponry was never something the designers of cybernetics around the planet of Nyeon could get around. There was always something strange and off-putting... archaic about them. No matter what they did, they could never get around those troublesome devices. And that same applies to the Nyon Pass Corporation. They could not find a way to out-wit those cleaver weapons, and thus the new line in synthflesh, Cyn-flesh, could find no footing there. When struck by sonic weaponry, the skin can and will crack and splinter. The metal can help to repair it, but it can permanently damage and splinter parts of the skin... rendering them weak and vulnerable to other weapons.
DESCRIPTION
  • When the Nyon Pass Corporation first convened, the first order of business was to find the way forwards. With the merging of multiple super corporations under it's golden banner and with the ever watchful eye of the Nyeon Security Bureau, the way to pave the future was tricky. Discussions were held as to whether a focus of cybernetics was necessary, others brought up the idea of focusing on starship creation... a venture no corporation had put serious effort into as of yet. The starships they had were autonomous, as was their past: droids, cybernetics, that was the future they had been building for decades if not centuries now.
  • Thus, the focus on cybernetics was brought back as this new corporation sought to out-produce, out-exploit, and crunch competition under foot of untold advancements. And where better to start afresh than with Synthflesh.
  • Synthflesh and Synthskin has long been part of the society of Nyeon, as it had the rest of the galaxy. It was a staple of medical advancement, prosthesis, HRDs, and much else throughout all known worlds. But where the Nyon Corporation saw tradition, they saw weakness. Synthflesh was outdated. It worked fine, but it led to no where. It was never good enough, it never did a great job of anything. It was, in their eyes, the past. And they were "Developing the future, today" as the corporate slogan went.
  • Thus Cyn-flesh was born, a new and vastly improved form of Synthflesh. No longer would they make mimics of the human form, instead they would improve on it one piece at a time. The society of Nyeon itself had always valued cybernetics and the like, and the corporations of old had always sought to offer the best product no matter what. In place of a weak mimic of flesh and blood, came a new metal-esque skin, capable of taking a beating. It could withstand small knives and melee weapons such as batons and fists, and could even match up against energy weaponry all the way to the upper echelon of fire-based weapons. Though EMPs and sonic weapons would, as always, prove a challenge to combat.
  • Though the Nyon Pass Corporation had hope: this was only the beginning of a bright and new future. A future forged by them, directed by the Nyeon Security Bureau... for a better, brighter tomorrow!
