Description:
Once Alexandra Morrow got it into her head that she was going to form an independent fleet to help safeguard the galaxy, she began designing fleet elements that she would need to fill out various roles. For the time being she knew she could still count on her position within the Galactic Alliance Defense Force to have access to ships of the line. What she needed off the bat, however, was a class of sturdy ships that she could train her sailors on. Utilizing funds and influence from being a member of the nobility of Naboo, Lexi was able to get a mass produced run of a fairly basic design. The design turned into the Cygnar class, a hard hitting slow ship designed to embody the adage "The best defense is a good offense."

As any good fleet commander knows, it is next to impossible to design a ship to handle every situation, the Cygnar is designed with flaws. The rate of movement and maneuverability means that this ship isn't going to be doing hit and runs on anything but the largest and slowest behemoths. This ship was also designed without any attached fighter elements. The rear of the ship is also a designed weak point, with the intention being of filling that weakness with the strength from another class of ship, aiming to make a latticework of classes that complement each other rather than relying on one to do everything.
