DESCRIPTION

The CS Enviro-suit was created to offer a lightweight option to the traditional bulky—and squeaky—enviro-suit without sacrificing any environmentally protective qualities. Because it was created with researchers and scientists in mind, the suit features a HUD with a lifeform scanner, infrared motion sensor and rangefinder in order to help detect potential targets of study while on hostile worlds. The helmet is also hermetically sealed and comes with a rebreather in order to filter out environmental toxins. An oxygen tank and a temperature control unit are attached to the back of the enviro-suit, though their positions can be modified or they can be discarded entirely. The oxygen tank that comes with this suit is good for about 2 hours, 3 hours if the oxygen recirculator is used. For missions where it is known that a planet’s atmosphere will not be breathable, multiple or even larger oxygen tanks are recommended and may be added, though this will increased the weight of the suit.

Largely composed of Enviromesh, a cloth-like agrinium weave, the CS Envirosuit is light weight and form fitting enough for the wearer to be able to move about comfortably without sacrificing much dexterity. Enviro Mesh is resistant to radiation, liquids and gasses of any strength including acids, bases, toxins and nearly all aerosolized liquids or gasses. This is useful when exploring territory with unknown environmental conditions that could be toxic or otherwise dangerous. This specially created mesh offers a measure of heat and fire resistance as well, though is by no means fireproof. Enviro Mesh can withstand bursts of flame or hot environments but not exposure to flame or extreme heat over an extended period of time which would cause the material to begin to melt and become useless.

Though able to protect against hostile environments, the CS Enviro=suit falls short when it comes to defending against traditional weaponry. Though the agrinium weave offers a bit of protection against kinetic impact (rips from environmental contact mostly, slugs will certainly tear through the material), lightsabers will cut through the mesh like hot butter and blasters will have little trouble burning through the material. Because Enviro Mesh is tightly woven to avoid penetration of harmful chemicals, it has the potential to overheat. Thus, a cooling unit comes with each envirosuit, though this can be removed if needed.
