Crystalsong Commonwealth - Formal Interest Check / Q&A

【夢狐】
Welcome to the The Crystalsong Commonwealth!
This faction is currently under work in progress to reflect an overhaul to it's overall theme. The hope is to give the faction a much-needed sense of direction and centrality, basing it on the theme of the planet Crystalsong setting with the dynamics and inclusiveness of the former Ri'essi Union.
The Ri'essi Union will still exist and as it was and will be a subfaction of TCC.
~There is so much more to come and so few people working on it! Please bear with me as I work to see most of the project completed and have all the lore write-ups for things like History, Background and FU Group finished in a reasonable time. :D

Overview:
A faction founded by trade merchants, Outer colonists and Crystalsong aboriginals who formed clans and colonies, eventually entire communities and cities, then finally united their grasp into the cosmos themselves. Crystalsong is a world where almost everything is is some form of crystalline molecular structure, organic or inorganic, natural or synthetic. It is a world of beauty and inner grace, a true masterpiece made by our very own wonderfully creative Maria Natalja. It's technology and architecture would be heavily influenced by their nature - crystal hyperdrives, buildings made out of crystal rock and stone, weapons and armor of crystal, meditation palaces, crystal currency, all pleasantly influenced by this recurring theme. Crystalsong has a brilliant array of species, from shapeshifting frost wyrms to dryadic sentients to Corellian colonists and room for all manner of flora and visitors. Not everything is going to be crystal this, crystal that, but it's just a foundational structure to work new ideas off of.
It is my hope that such a beautiful, imaginative setting becomes a great community and a wonderful group to write with - a place where there is always something more to gain or do or explore. Best of all, the slate is clean and all are welcomed to join and found it, no matter their prior allegiances and factions! (with the common sense clause of not doing something that hurts the faction itself.)

~ EVERYTHING IS POTENTIALLY SUBJECT TO CHANGE!!! ~
The best part of it is that it can all evolve - should and will all evolve as players shape and perpetuate it all. I want it to be as interactive, responsive and community-driven as possible so that all can find something new to enjoy!

Faction Development:
I've come up with a basic model which would involve growing - as every realistic society does - from colony to city to kingdom to empire, and it would all be centered upon the world of Crystalsong on the far Southern edge of the galaxy. There will be a new write-up and lore for the FU sect, a write-up for colony and clan background (for colonists and aboriginals, respectively), a write-up for off-world visitors whatever walks of life they lead, and a write-up for those of Malfrost, the only economic power on this peaceful little world. It will work out at first much like jumping into an MMO - where one starts off as a race and a faction, then work their way up as in any board faction. This is how the faction itself will start out, grow and be able to become great.
The whole concept itself will be very inclusive, despite the initial categorization/subgrouping, and anyone of any walk will be able to get in and integrated smoothly - duelist, soldier, trader, pilot, mercenary, sage, civilian, admiral, acolyte; everyone will find use of their role in the faction. There won't be a Force alignment (as Crystalsong is too remote, untouched and naive to independently have formed such a thing anyway), so all are welcomed, Dark or Light, and there will be things in it for both!

Military and Force-Users:
For those who are group-minded, there will be a Navy and Marine defense force (with unique names, of course), and that will eventually grow into fuller forces if and once the faction becomes a major power, as well as a fully-original Force sect and colonist-inspired duties within the Ri'essi Union that anyone can partake in. Unique tech and equipment will always be coming in to treat these groups with new things to try out and threads will be made when inter-faction events are slow or absent, including occasional Treasure Hunts and Raids with rare Canon and Original rewards.

Government:
As I have always believed that a faction lead by a single entity is bound to share the views of those in that entity mostly, the new faction will be ruled by an IC leader and ruling family, but politics will be handles similar to a Senate or Council, all-inclusive where every member may make their case and leave their vote on major decisions and changes. The majority will always pave the way and the system will work by the people, for the people! There will also be plenty of IC positions too, for those who enjoy roleplaying that sort of archetype!
The Crystalsong Commonwealth and its companion unions are united by clan and community. The leader of the faction is known as the Grand Scion, and they regulate and manage the faction with the help of a small administrative board. There can only be one Grand Scion ruling at a time, but it is not without assistance and mitigation. Beneath them is the Chief Supervisor, who acts as go-between for Grand Scion and Member, but also hosts all political meetings and councils regarding major decisions within the Commonwealth. Below them are the Wardens who manage prisoners and crime policy. Last comes the Nobility, whom though hold no political power, are highly respected amongst the Commonwealth and are looked up to for guidance and good judgement.

While the Crystalsong Commonwealth may be lead by a Grand Scion who rules over the clans, colonies and united worlds, most of the factions major political decisions are decided through a committee of representative Nobles and independent citizens who may all voice their opinions during official councils. The Chief Supervisor concludes a council and tallies up the votes for, against or otherwise, then forwards them with the proposal to the Grand Scion for final judgement and execution. A Grand Scion must oblige a passing proposal, or may call for a second meeting which if also passing, cannot be refuted. The Grans Scion then decides how to approach or address the issue in official capacity. It is through this system of government that the people are assured fairness, equality and transparency.

The process is fairly simple:
1. Make an IC or OOC proposal in this forum.

2. Get at least five members, two nobles or the Chief Supervisor to sign off in agreement to your proposal.

3. The Chief Supervisor will then create an IC thread here which anyone may join, debating the proposal.

4. Members voice their opinions, discuss and finalize the proposal, and/or make their votes.

5. If passing 60/40 or greater, the Chief Supervisor (or an FA if they are absent) will then bring it to the Grand Scion, and the Elders will convene.

6. A decision will be publicly announced on the details of how the proposal will be addressed!

It is important to note that if you do not make your voice heard, it will not be heard! All councils are open to all members! If you are in disagreement, voice this either in the OOC or in the IC Council thread, as only those who post in the council thread after the allotted time will be considered towards the final vote!

Subjects that see council include:
  • Invading another faction
  • Invasion term disagreements
  • Declaring war
  • Addressing declarations of war
  • Inter-faction relations
  • Inter-faction crimes
  • Providing military/humanitarian aid to other factions
  • Adopting new policies
  • Any faction alterations
  • Adding to the Commonwealth
  • Changing a subgroup of the Commonwealth
  • Impeaching an Elder
  • Executive promotions of members
  • etc.
Subjects that DO NOT see council include:
  • Impeaching the Grand Scion (see board rules)
  • Acts against other members
  • Master nomination votes
  • Use Common Sense

Force Group:
The Force sect of this faction will be not exactly like any other. It will be based on mixed principles of serenity, exploration, unifying force, mysticism and martial prowess! Unlike any other known faction, this Force sect will offer Alchemy Classes, access to archives of various teachings in the Force and in Close Combat. Light-Siders will be able to learn things such as Alter Environment, whist Dark Siders have free rein to pick up spells such as the legendary Tsaiwinokka Hoyakut, and more! Lightsabers can be uniquely and personally crafted, on a world few better connected are there to crystals and the power within themselves. It will be a twin academy of wonder, learning and constant growth!

Faction Hierarchy:
(Please bare with me as it is WIP and the descriptions for a few haven't been finished yet)
::: The Elders [Gov't]

Grand Scion
The technical ruler of the Commonwealth and mentor to all its peoples, the Grand Scion is both a position of nobility and of wisdom and strength. While the clans, colonies and communities within the Commonwealth truly decide the fates of the faction, it is the Grand Scion's duty to see them carried out truly and efficiently. They also must play the role of mediator when conflicts arise, diplomat when other powers are discovered and leader when wars are fought for the honor, glory and prosperity of his or her kin. They also embody the blood of the finest breed of warrior of the faction, oft biologically augmented or simply of great racial fortitude - they are the apex warrior that carries the torch of Crystalsong through the dark cosmos.

⋆⋆⋆ Chief Supervisor
Often overlooked but never underestimated, the role of Chief Supervisor is the most important administrative seat in the Commonwealth. They act both as a regent to the Grand Scion, a proxy between the branches of military and clans, and as a governor of the Commonwealth as a whole. Political campaigns and meetings are usually hosted by this individual and the communities are kept in order by their careful watch and attentive administration.

⋆⋆ Warden
A Warden is little more than a judge and prisonkeeper. It is a seat only held by one, and only requires one. They answer to the Chief Supervisor and should corruption set in, would be quickly demoted or excommunicated.

Nobles
The title of Noble One may not hold extra political pull, but it holds great honor and importance; for a Noble is a sigil of strength and wisdom for all the Commonwealth united to see. Nobles can inherit the position by birthright inheritance, though oft it is gained through deeds to the faction. Nobles are often mighty defenders of the peoples and philanthropists to their community. A Noble is also a powerful clansman, however, granted access to some of the fiercest weapons and equipment the Crystalsong Commonwealth has to offer.

::: The Crystal Armada [Navy]

⋆⋆⋆⋆ Crystal Fleetmaster
By and large the master of the Crystal Armada, the Crystal Fleetmaster is a prestigious seat which dictated all naval movements and commands. They are usually refined by years or even decades - sometimes centuries - of battle in space and in the skies above. Few have seen what they have seen, and few know what they know. With weapons such as the VIORA Cannon and Enigma Pulse at their disposal, only the best can be afforded.

⋆⋆⋆ Fleetmaster
A Fleetmaster to Crystalsong is to any galactic empire an Admiral. Their duties are and responsibilities are one in the same, simply given a different title. To be a Fleetmaster is to be given great trust and great power, for entire commands of ships are placed at your hands. Without Fleetmasters to command and oversee naval battlegroups, the navy would inevitably fail.

⋆⋆ Captain
Captains are, as expected, commanders of a capital ship or fighter flight and leaders of the cell which is the ship in their charge. They heed the orders of their Fleetmaster and make certain they are effectively carried out by those in their charge. Captains are great leaders, as the title alone implies nothing less, and most are given great liberties to carry out the will of the Crystal Armada.

Ensign
Ensigns are all that the name implies. They are the entry-level officers of the Crystal Armada naval forces.

::: The Crystalite Commune [Force]

⋆⋆⋆⋆ Headmaster
The Headmaster (or Headmistress) is the grandmaster of the Crystalite Commune. They are the highest seat in the Force order and both a leader and mentor to all. Their responsibility is the greatest as well. Though their vote is no greater than any Magistrate's during Magistrate Council meetings, they may single-handedly choose to form a meeting or authorize lower members. The position should not be taken lightly, as the consequences for failure to adhere to Code or duty might result not only at exile but in execution.

⋆⋆⋆ Magistrate
~

⋆⋆⋆ Primarch
Primarchs are the true Masters of the Commune. Magistrates are usually of this calling. A Primarch is wise and humble beyond his years as a warrior of the Force. They are oft experts in their chosen fields of use and teachers to the younger (though technically a chronologically young member, with dedication, can be a master of the Force and thus a Primarch all the same). Primarchs are no longer limited to what they want to learn or indulge in, as long as time permits.

⋆⋆ Mystic
A Mystic is to the Commune what a Knight is to the Jedi Order. Mystics are the metaphorical middle ground to the Commune and are already initiated in the ways and arts of the Force. Some still have a Master they answer to, while others may have an Apprentice of their own. As a Mystic, those are no longer required to answer to the academies, though they are still subject ultimately to the chain of command of the Magistrates and the Headmaster. Some advanced Mystics may take a certain specialty in which they excel from other knights.

Apprentice
An Apparentice of the Commune is little different to an Apprentice of the Sith or an Apprentice of the Jedi. All apprentices are initiates in the Force, with some bordering knighthood in skill but left still under the care of a Mystic or Primarch. Apprentices are often children, though not always, as all who are sensitive to the Force are permitted to subscribe to an academy of the Commune and learn its ways. At the Apprentice level, most Crystalites stay at either or both of the Equilibrium Academies and accept missions from their masters or the Magistrate Council. Most have a formal master, though some choose simply to learn alone and through training, which is just as welcomed.

::: The Ri'essi Union

⋆⋆ Corporate Council
The Council of Leading Corporations is a governing body formed by the chairpeople and executives of the corporations that support and contribute to the Ri'essi Union. Thanks to their service, they are specifically chosen to serve on the Council, a position of high prestige and importance but never about control. Corporate Councilors meet to discuss operations and policies within the Ri'essi Union for the better of all its employees, affiliates and members.

Affiliate
Within the smaller subgroup which is the Ri'essi Union lies its largest demographic of people - the commoners and citizens who come to it for employment, contracts or assistance. Anyone is entitled to utilize the Union, even non-citizens of the Commonwealth. It is this inclusiveness and openness that allows the Ri'essi Union to prosper and spread that prosperity to all who share the same goal.

Strength In Industry
Prosperity In Unity

Welcome to the Ri'essi Union!

This [sub]faction was created with the intention of forming a community where members new and old may find help creating or producing submissions, forming new projects and groups, sharing ideas and generally building a bond of unity and kinship. This mission is fueled by each and every one of us, and only together can we make this Union strive![/sub][sub]

And no, this isn't a completely industry/corporation -oriented faction and it isn't just a servicing group - it's designed to be like any other faction, just way more open and dynamic. There are still goals for progression, still a military people can fight for and a government people can live for; they're just not a one-track organization or a single ruler. Here, the people run the organizations, the organizations don't run the people.

Rules & Requirements:

There are no requirements to join! Whether you are solo, own a company or are a member of another large faction, all are welcomed in the TRU community!
There are only a few ground rules to follow to ensure everyone has a fun, enjoyable time here.

1) Respect your fellow peers! It is okay to leave criticism but please remain civil and constructive. Such things should not be taken personally and any personal bouts will be addressed by a faction moderator.

2) Opinions written within by staff or judges are not binding! Don't feel intimidated if a Judge leaves a piece of constructive criticism. We are all here only to help one-another out.

3) Please do not spam! This is not a place to journal all of your ideas and spurts of inspiration. This causes clutter and detracts valuable attention from others' pre-factory submissions. You may use your blog to keep notes on ideas and inspirations.

That's all! Above all else, enjoy yourself and have fun!

Of course. You can check out the faction itself; there's a little bit more info there than there is here. This wasn't meant to be the official advert, just a check. I'll tag you the day that goes up.

The thing that confuses me is Mit has a Rufie, Nomad has a Rufie and Cobalt made a Rufie... so which one of you is still holding out? :O

There should be four of us, but only three of us have posted as Rufies. #Maths

Not that it matters, but Cross is my de-facto writer account... Cobalt's just the alt I happened to be on :p

But I think it's either Daxton or Erin... Might be Silara, though.
