. The same features, the same burning eyes, the same towering build and height. The same fire in their hair, except Cruelty wears his long where Mercy wears hers short. His clothes are more colorful, more flowing and relaxed. His steps are somehow more elegant and flowing, in spite of his build.

Other than that, they might as well be each other's shadow, so similar.
This makes sense. Because see, Cruelty is Mercy's twin brother and always has been. So says Mercy and do you really want to argue with her about it?
HISTORY
One day a man appears in your meeting. You have never met him before. You know this for a fact, because this sort of man would be etched in your mind from the very first time you saw him. Large enough to cover the wall, with eyes that look morose and burn bright with gold. Teeth that are sharp as a predator and a smirk that cuts almost as wicked. No, you have never met this man before.
Except your Empress tells you it is her twin and in fact, he has always been there. You don't remember? How odd. Well, anyway, continue with your job but Cruelty (who names himself Cruelty anyway?) will be here to supervise your work, as he always has.
Funny, you don't remember ever having been supervised before, but if the Empress tells you the sky is red... then you have to rearrange your eyes to make it work.
This was something similar to that.
Within weeks people disappear and somehow always after they have been in a meeting with Mr. Cruelty (Just Cruelty? You will never understand). Then as soon as you woke up to his long-tenured existence, he is suddenly gone again.
When you ask when you can expect Cruelty to return they look at you funny.
Soon enough you yourself begin to forget about that cruel face, the cruel teeth and the trickle of blood you thought you had seen curving his chin after a particularly long meeting.
